yes from the gameplay video it looks like turn-based, because they play it like that to ensure ppl can see what is happening :D
But i've already played the alpha version, and is nothing like that at all >< still waiting for beta phase 1 to commence in few more days/weeks :D

PS3 one is coming nicely and YoshiP, the director and producer of the FFXIV team is (either) already in US and is preparing a live letter to show case a lot of info for the upcoming beta phase 1 :D

A Realm Reborn Media Tour 2013
As you may have read in the last Letter from the Producer, the global media tour will be kicking off soon! While Yoshi-P is taking this opportunity to introduce A Realm Reborn to the world, we would also like to take some time out to post some "inside" news just for our most hardcore fans... YOU!
The team has arrived safely in the US and is currently gathering at the Square Enix office in Los Angeles for lots of prep and meetings.
Prior to hopping on the plane, Square Enix Japan's resident celebrity Foxclon snapped this picture in the Narita Airport lounge. But wait... what's Yoshi-P running on his laptop? A picture? A video? It's actually Yoshi-P playing A Realm Reborn! Turns out he's running the latest data checks on the Development Team's server.
We'll do our best to drop some more shots of Yoshi-P and updates while he's here and during the trip, as long as the jet lag hasn’t hit him too hard!

It's been a long day of, well, meetings...but we finished up our media tour briefing, and are all set to head to San Francisco tomorrow!

Here's a look at the Media Tour manual. This has information such as who to talk to in case of emergencies, organization charts, the venue map, account information, and lots of other things! Unfortunately, just as the red text says, it's confidential so this is about as much as we can show you.

Finally, we heard all about the latest awesome sauce that the development team has been working on! Here Yoshi-P introduced some new artwork and content, but... what's that on the screen? That doesn't seem to have anything to do with the Media Tour does it?

Hey gang!
We arrived at the venue today for our technical rehearsals and were able to snap some shots of the staff transforming the rooms into something straight out of FFXIV! :) We'll be sure to share some more cool stuff when possible!
As you can see, things are really starting to shape up inside...
