80s/90s Anime discussion thread

-Ghost in the Shell 1995 is one of my favourite animes (it's a movie though)
-Appleseed 1988, another movie based on the manga from the same author as Ghost in the Shell. It was alright
-Shonan Junai Gumi, aka young Onizuka, and not nearly as famous as GTO it would seem.
-KyÅ Kara Ore Wa!!, another delinquent anime from the 90s
-Initial D first stage, released in 98 but the whole thing screams 90s (mainly due to the soundtrack)
-Berserk, late 90s
-Dragon Ball, haven't watched DBZ actually.
Other than that I'm planning on watching Golgo 13 if it's any good. There's just something about these old animes that really appeal to me, maybe it's because I grew up with the general art style of 90s anime, or because I like the cheese.
Oh yeah and I just remembered I grew up watching Tanoshii Moomin Ikka. It's mainly aimed at children. Most of you probably haven't heard of it but it was big in my country since the author was partly from here. Localised voice acting, but one of the best dubs I know of, they put a lot of effort into it.

I've watched City Hunter too. It's a great show. The main character is sort of a bounty hunter/detective or whatnot. He can be dead serious but most of the time he keeps on slacking and chasing girls that his assistant always hits him w/ a giant hammer w/c always makes me laugh.
The 80's and 90's will always be memorable to me. Making those shows using the traditional method still has a place in my heart since it's harder to make (using pen and paper) unlike the technology they use to produce anime today.
I have a lot of favorites from the yesteryear so I'll just narrow it down to 5:
1. Zettai Mutteki Raijin-oh
2. Ranma 1/2
3. Mobile Suit Victory Gundam
4. World Masterpiece theater
5. Burn Up Excess

Macross (Need to re-watch)
Macross: Do you Remember Love (I can't remember it, but I remember loving it)
Sailor Moon (I liked it as a kid, piss off!)
MS Gundam (I have to re-watch this one)
Gundam 8th MS (My favorite so far of the Gundam series)
Gundam Wing (last Gundam, imo, to seriously consider war)
Dragon Ball (I only liked Z till around the "Cell" saga, even then, I enjoyed Dragon ball a hell of a lot more)
Outlaw Star (So wanted this... still want this in RL)
Trigun (Top Tier)
Serial Experiments Lain (Love!)
Soul Taker (Love the animation approach of this series; made me so sad)
G-on Rider
Tenchi Muyo
Cowboy Bebop (I still cry for to that end... crying out like a child... Top Tier)
Ranma 1/2 (more-or-less, the filler though... read the entire series in 1-2 days though >_>)
Neon Genesis Evangelion (Hard to watch, I couldn't agree with the characters choices, but loved the series)
Vision of Escaflowne (more the movie tho)
Orphen (thought he was so cool, the main)
Excel Saga (too funny)
Zoid
Dual Parallel Trouble Adventures (what I see as one of Masaki Kajishima's better works)
Beck (Loved this series, so much)
(Oh what the hell, I liked it up till around Charizard left or maybe Togepi) Poke'mon
Blue Gender (the first half, loved)
Gunbuster (Was interesting, female lead was allowed to love a male, and love how it opened the door to Diebuster)
Rurouni Kenshin
"Hayao Miyazaki"
FLCL (Top tier)
Lupin the 3rd (can't get enough)
Ghost in the Shell (profound)
Betterman (one of my absolute favorites, science meets anime meets horror)
Slayers (though I haven't seen much of the series, especially all the sequels/spin-offs)
Revolutionary Girl Utena (I still have to watch the tv series, the movie was interesting tho)
Neo Ranga (I can't remember it tho, gotta re-watch it sometime soon)
Maze (A rare gem, still have to finish it though)
Fruits Baskets
Full Moon wo Sagashite (Loved it)
Card Captor Sakura (almost forgot this one, top tier)
The Cat Returns (Adorable)
Jing: King of Bandits (Wanted so much more)
Angel Sanctuary
Big O (Loved it, the end tho)
I'm sure there's more I'm missing, but these are the series I can go to as "have seen" from then and enjoyed. (Found a lot of series I thought was 90's were 2000-2002...)
For the animes that are 2000's, the manga's were 1990's.
No order to my list.
