[Anime] Kotoura-san (Winter 2012/2013)

I didn't notice it, but I'll just go ahead and assume it was Adachiko.

Anyway, as expected of Moritani! She blows things out of proportion once again! I do wonder what mom's "companion" was thinking about that creeped out Kotoura.

"Adachiko", because of him, no one will ever trust the bumbling weak police assistant anymore. XD

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought Dojima and Adachi when the detectives were introduced.

If there's one thing I hate about this show, it's the bullshit attempts to make us like the once-antagonistic characters. Oh well. On to the good. The phone call with Kotoura's grandpa and Manabe was hilarious. Just damn. Epic grandpa. Also, Mifune with twin tails looked surprisingly good. I didn't think it'd fit her style, but it actually works nicely. And that ending. Boy, that escalated quickly. "Lalalalala I'm gonna find the murderer." *next appearance* "FUCK."

NOOOOO!!! Titty-senpai! Why?! *cough cough* I mean, uh, riveting episode. Seems like we're beginning to reach the climax. I think it's pretty obvious by this point, but my money's on the detective lady being the criminal. The whole "She actually came" thing right after the blatantly obvious baiting on her part over the phone pretty much sealed the deal. Or, there'll be some M. Night Shyamalan twist up in here to make us all either want to slap ourselves for our stupidity or slap the creators for theirs.

If not for Yuriko's selfish "I need to avenge my moms reputation" bullshit, then the idiocy of not figuring out someone telling you to not go to a specific place where a criminal is, is suspicious. She deserved to get cracked upside her head.

Let's start out with Kotoura doing her annoying fucking "It's all my fault" spiel again. Cause that hasn't gotten old at all. Maybe if she wasn't a fucking idiot, she wouldn't have got trapped in an apartment with a nutjob. Speaking of, a split personality? Really? Way to pull that out of your ass, to try and make up for the "twist" everyone saw coming a mile away. And all the crying teenage drama...blech.

-If this was real life she would have died in the apartment, at most, made it "to" the stairs (outrunning someone with legs almost twice as long as yours is not easy, especially taking into account the difference in their physique)
-A police officer murdering 7-8 people and their department had no idea what-so-ever.
-Split personalities... fine... but 30 secs of a half-ass speech and ~bam~ resolved?! Years of damage that scared her mind so much that she developed a sociopath personality to escape... ugh...
-She killed 7-8 people including children, brutally at that, and the detective goes "I'll take you out to dinner when you get out"...
-Does she understand everything that happened? She had no memories prior to her "rehabilitation".
-The end of a killing spree ends with smiles... Not even bitter sweet, just, "good end"...

I tried, and found quite a few things to like about this anime, Kotoura (for the most part) as an example, but this ending will be easily forgotten.

So apparently Kotoura can't read the mind of a repressed personality in a bipolar person. Some mind reader you are. As expected, Adachiko's motivation really did boil down to "I was bullied because I was tall, now I'll have my revenge on all the pipsqueaks!" And all Moritani was good for was her fighting skills, and she can't even pull that off.

She was fighting someone with like a foot on her, and probably more years of fight training than her.

I can let everything else surrounding this whole attacker thing slide. However


That is where I draw the line.

You know, it's not like I don't understand where you're coming from. Kotoura has not taught herself nor wants to try to read deeply into a person's mind. However, when Tsukino went from her amiable personality into Adachiko, Kotoura didn't even notice the switch. There's something wrong with that. After all, if Kotoura could control her mind reading, she wouldn't be having the problems she had. Basically, it was all for the convenience of the plot even though it doesn't really make sense.
