Probably the worst montage. Absolutely hideous 3D, the montage scenes had a disconnect to the lyrics, the best part is missing and I feel like the scene was there just to follow the theme of "we need a song every episode". On the other hand everything else was pretty damn good with much needed exposition, people who are confused with the series should be set on the right track now.

I cringed when I saw that op part..... either it was a rushed job on a nickle budget or they were letting someone new try something interesting. Either way I was a bit upset with that montage, but the rest of it was good (almost worried they were going to make the cg the whole episode lol). Hope they do a nice with the ending to this.... I'm feeling like this is going to leave us with a cliff hanger or a wtf kinda feeling.

There is a way to find out how the show might end: it all depends on the title of the finally. Will it be Outer Science? Or will it be Summertime Record?

I've felt like that ever since I saw Ayano's brown hair and the feeling only intensified when I consider the most recent episode. Washing it out with the mvs helps.

I want to see the finale have a blank title just so they can troll people who have watched the mvs.
Spoiler:
They'll probably do Outer Science first then Summertime Record considering how Outer Science ends with time looping, then again the anime is more strictly following the light novel.

I stumbled upon the Kagerou Project really, clicking around Youtube with no purpose. The first one I got was Lost Time Memory, and it was so good I instantly downloaded it and saved it in my phone.

But I never got to check the other songs. I had no idea the scale, the thoughts, and the efforts put into this project until this anime came out, and I got curious.

I didn't check 'Outer Science' or any of the bad endings - too much of a pussy to do it; it seems like I'm losing my bravery with this kind of things the older I get - I'm already finding excuses not to download it for a full three episodes until today, and I cannot understand why - so, basically,

Let's really hope we don't see anything too gory for the last few episodes. It'll make me feel like running away and go for some dumb soul searching or something. God.

Last episode is confirmed for Summertime record, just in case you didn't know.

would've loved a hanazawa cover, but regardless a great imagination forest cover

This series is making me so confused.. ; ; The manga just ripped out a part of my heart and the anime doesn't help much. I love all the characters and the songs and I'm feeling all mixed things inside and I just want to laugh and cry and I dunno where to put myself anymore.. and Damn that shaft.. XD

"Last episode: Summertime Record" but..but science..

So the anime is diverging from the LN. Potentially worrisome because whenever an anime radically deviates from the source material(manga, LN, VN) bad things like the first adaptation of Full Metal Alchemist or E rated One Piece can happen and this episode in particular had weirdish pacing throughout.

Spoiler:
Say goodbye to this face maybe

I'm worried about them changing too much too. Though I think they are taking source from the music video, manga and Light novel?
but as far I think it follows some of the music videoes and manga and light novel. Maybe they are just trying to make it understandable for people who haven't had any contact with any of the original sources? but but I hope we see that moment cause.. I'm WAITING FOR IT.. actually I'm waiting for a lot and it kills not knowing whenever it will come or not!!

Yes it's more accurate to say it's related to the series as a whole, but the LN is more straight-forward than the others. Since Jin's in charge of the LN, Mvs and (tentatively)anime he's using his own material so it's not so much referencing/sourcing but more like re-purposing.

You are close to the problem, one issue is that they are juggling around the responsibility of entertaining the fans and people new to the series which makes it a mediocre experience for both(from my perspective). I want to bring down the hammer but there's still one episode left and I really want to believe in this adaptation.

The possibility of season 2 is always there!!!

Summer Time Record has always been the ultimate ending to the Kagerou Project. They've repeated 'Outer Science' countless of times before that.

In the music video it was never shown how STR came to be, nor in the LN or manga, so this is the perfect opportunity to do so.

EDIT: But I'm sure there will be sadness as well. For one, I'm pretty sure that:

Spoiler:
Ayano and Hiyori is gone forever. Kenjirou very likely dies as well. I suspect that, in order to let Saeru disappear forever - or at least, for this particular period of time - all irrational wishes (bring back the dead) has to be let go. So the Mekakushi Dan has to give up on bringing back Ayano and Hiyori, or the tragedy will eventually repeat until Saeru gets exactly what he wants, and everyone dies anyway.

Perhaps persuading Kenjirou to give up will be the easiest part, compared to the others.

Finally able to watch episode 10 and 11. That latest episode gave me a reminder to rewatch the whole series some time in the future, because I seriously felt like I'm missing out on something important. This is especially the case where,

Spoiler:
I forgot the whole conversation between Takane and Ayano somewhere some episodes ago where Ayano mentioned about the teacher being her father and I forgot that fact until watching the PV for Ayano's Theory of Happiness before the anime version of it came out. Not only that, it also made me wonder on how Takane actually got her body back. I mean, after Kano showed the place where her body was held I don't think I recall seeing Kano doing anything after that reveal. Maybe I wasn't concentrating, maybe I did see it but not noticed it. I will also have to rewatch the previous episodes because I can't remember what Shintaro did before he ended up in that bed, suddenly revealing his power which gave me a seriously confused look.

Other than that, episode 10 was actually nice. The cover for Imagination Forest was fantastic as well as the dubstep soundtrack somewhere in the episode. Though one question was circulating around my mind while watching that episode. Who was Marry's father? And boy was I so down when they mentioned that "Summertime Record" is the final episode for Mekaku City Actors.

... I'm sure you'll get your fill of Outer Science in the manga and LN. The needed to tie up the story leading up to Summertime Record permanently, and this is the only medium left. Remember, we never know how it leads up to Summertime Record - that ending and the rest are literally missing a link.

Once this anime is done, we will get the full picture - or, as full as you can hope for - of the entire story of Mekaku City Actors. No major things left unexplained (almost). I for one, am extremely satisfied with this outcome.

Eh, it just can't please everyone. Though I might as well stop whining and see how things will end.

New MVs released in lieu of Mekakucity actor's upcoming finale both utilizing the songs from the ending and opening.

So wonderful, just so heart-poundingly beautiful. I think these Mvs are rather straightforward to interpret, regardless I would people to draw their own conclusions before seeing mine.

Spoiler:
The first one pertains to the Mekakushidan finally shaking off the hazy dreams of normality that shackled them and using their red eyes to enter the Daze for themselves for Mekakushidan's grandest operation yet: awaken Death-god Azami and whoop Saeru's ass. What excites me the most is that this potentially takes place AFTER summertime record according to the bus sign..meaning that this could be the true route.

The second one. A majority of the video pertains to how Azami's eternal life makes both strife and joy pass by so quickly, as if she was dreaming the entire time. I really liked the bus sign behind Azami and the Mobius Strip it was superb symbolism and foreshadowing. The ending was particularly interesting, it showed how Azami finally woke from her nightmares to see her Hibiya and Hiyori's turmoil triggering her intervention. Accelerating forward Azami takes a look at the curse of August 15th and sees that the Mekakushidan left a signal for her and she leaves the train, which can be interpreted as her dying or finally returning to the real world.

HYPE. HYPE. HYPE.

Edit: Ohhhhh...well it wasn't good but it wasn't awful.

I have to say, that was the worst episode out of the twelve. They literally ran out of budget on this one, and how Saeru went down - even though I already knew he will go down - was just... this is supposed to be deep! DEEP!

That being said, like I expected it does bridge the gap up to STR.

Agreed, it was good that they tied up but things like skimming over Toumei Answer, brushing over Hiyori's true feelings towards Hibiya, etc. and the finicky way the finale carried out made the overall experience disjointed.

My feelings towards Mekakucity Actors can best be described disappointment, I expected something normal at the very least but was left with a subpar experience that will likely negatively influence the image of Kagerou Project. I'm still clinging onto the hope that my interpretation of Daze was correct.
