The original concept for this series began with Vocaloid producer Shizen no Teki-P (自然の敵P) or more commonly known as Jin (じん). The creative and catchy use of various vocaloid’s such as Miku Hatsune and IA, Jin created a series of interlinking songs that became known as the Kagerou Project. Most notable of his songs are Heat-Haze Days and Headphone Actor.

The success of his works also led to the creation of 3 CD’s (1 single and two soundtracks), four light novels (with a fifth one in the works) as well as a manga series.

I have included all of the Main story arc's for the Kagerou Project in order, with music video's (fanamde and made by Jin himself) all of which have english subtitles)

I’m actually pretty excited about this series and can’t wait to see what they do with it. I would recommend watching the playlist (there are English sub versions of them all on youtube) and reading the manga. I am also liking the voice actors chosen for each character. The only thing I am concerned with is this turning out to be similar to Black Rock Shooter. BBS (produced originally by Huke) is similar to this series because both started out as poplar Vocaloid songs with talented producers. I wasn’t really happy with what they did with that series sadly and felt that it was far too hyped up for what was given as a result. Going to hope for the best though!

Ah I read the manga for this. Well part way, then I dropped it cause I got bored. Then a friend told me it was gonna be a anime and she wants me to watch it. She is pretty hyped about it. I'll try a few episodes and see how it goes.

If you haven't seen any of the MV's for the original Kagerou Project series (and know anything/like vocaloids) I would suggest them. The manga's are sort of like tie-in's to them and I don't feel they are very substantial on their own.

errr MVs? Apologies but I dont know what that is. I don't mind Vocaloids, I just know few of them and listen to a few songs.

MV's stand for music video's and there is a whole line up of them. The Music Video's are comprised of individual stories, group stories, origin stories, etc that all combine to tell a full story. All of them are translated on youtube (if you or anyone want's them linked w/subs I could do it).

The story can be a little bit confusing, but commenter's on youtube and english covers of the songs espically this girl > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LKrP_fu4m0s&list=PL9C906E72BDEB7F13 (she sang all of the Kageoru Project songs in english and she isn't too bad) makes it easier to understand.

That would actually be pretty awesome if they did so! But at the most I am hoping that they retain a nice portion of jin’s songs in the series, even if they are just heard in the background.

Her name is Tsubomi Kido and she is female in the anime series. Most people (characters within the anime; fans in general) mistake her for a man including myself lol.

I liked it. I didn't mind the tropes Shaft pulled and I thought the overall quality of the characters were really good. I can understand if people wouldn't like the AI but I didn't mind her.

I screamed a bit when I realized Mekaku City Actors was out today, Jin's work dominates probably half of my Vocaloid playlist and I was pretty happy but hesitant about how it got an anime greenlight before even the manga was published. Strike me down where I stand fellow headjackers, for I strayed from the path.

The first episode was good, I like the changes made from the manga/original but I think Shaft should probably tone down the straight-man act, otherwise I'm happy with Shaft and their talent taking this up. I really hope that Mekaku City Actors can survive with stiff competition like NO GAME NO LIFE.

Just watched the first episode.

Even just for the first episode, I'm already liking the direction of it. The character design and the scenery layout are pretty nice, which reminds me somewhat of bakemonogatari. Can't wait to see more of this!

Because Shaft is doing the animation, shaft is the same company that animates monogatari.

Oh I know lol, I just like that they kept with the same style, made me feel all warm and fuzzy (^w^)

You know I already know what's going to happen because of the songs, but just seeing the animated version makes me giddy. Plus at some point unlimited sexy face will begin when the Mekakushidan arrives.

It's one of my favorite songs actually. Yeah, I kept up with the song's as well, but I'll still be intersted to see how they do with this as an anime. Ene is so cute!!

Ene is awesome. Just hope I understand the story now that the anime is out. Manga, I get the gist of it but still don't quite get it.

Anywho, first episode was alright. Ene's really adorable. I kinda wish that I have an AI like her. The later bit of the episode was hella confusing though. Still, that's not gonna stop me from watching the rest of the episodes.
