[Anime]Shingeki no Kyojin/ Attack on Titan

Ep. 21

Spoiler:
Duuuuuuude... the beginning of the episode: 'ok they're gonna do some maneuver battle and the commander is talking' but then when the Female Titan came back I was like 'are you fucking serious?!' Then the epic teamwork of Levi's squad.... aaaaaaand everyone dies. I was so furious! Even Petra?!

Then Titan fight happened and I went apeshit. It was so well animated, I didn't even care or hit pause to examine frames or none of that shit. It was pretty intense. The soundtrack helped TONS!

...and then Eren, I was like 'not again!!' And then Mikasa, awgad, all nine hells of yandere fury within minutes. Fuck! Ep. 22 can't come soon enough.

Spoiler:
HOLY SHIT THAT WAS FUCKING INSANE.

THAT IS ALL.

Why are they taking such a straight route. Wouldn't it be better to use the trees as their advantage and zick zack so the titan will get stuck. Even a titan shouldn't be able to break down those trees. All this retrospecting. Shounen and all their monologues.

ep 21.

Spoiler:
Pretty fucking intense fight, been waiting for Eren to transform already like he should have a couple eps ago, but in the end he still got his ass kicked. I'm still wondering if that is Ice skin that the female titan creates or is it diamond?

Spoiler:
The plan wasn't to escape the Female Titan. It was to capture her Alive.

Also, zigzagging wouldn't help since the trees are not only large and thick, they also have huge gaps between each giant tree, meaning zigzagging will only consume speed and agility due to not only dodging the titan, but also the giant forest itself.

I'll have to reread the manga to see if Levy knew what the plan was, but all I know is that he has complete faith and trust in Irwin Smith's decisions

Began watching it just yesterday and now I'm on episode 10. The general plot, animation and music seemed absolutely amazing. Made me get into the anime almost instantly. I was watching it and realizing I loved it to an extent that was almost suspicious. After seeing episode, I think, 08 I realized why that was... I can see quite a paralelism (maybe plagiarism is slightly more accurate) between this and Evangelion.

Still, an amazing anime but I can help seeing extremely familiar similarities.

Spoiler:
I was referring to the newest episode where they first try to escape from her. The background to the chase proves that you are wrong. The gap is small enough to be of hinders to the female titan. Besides when they try to move forward the sway to the side (like spiderman) so it might be possible that it's easier than you think to maneuver the tall trees. And wouldn't the female titan slow down even more? It takes more time for the titan to reach max speed than the maneuver machinery they posses.

Also the name "Attack on Titan" suggest that "Titan" does not refer to titans but rather a material. Maybe titan is what titans are made of?

This is may be what all schizos say but what I'm seeing seems pretty compelling to me...

After. I get why they rode in a straight line before.

There's one big difference though. Eren's far off from being too much of a pussy like Shinji. Other than that, yeah, I find everything else creepily accurate.

I see. Well, I guess they went into panic mode. After all...

Spoiler:
It's not everyday you see a giant female titan that you thought was devoured alive, after killing off one of your teammates, reappear right before your very eyes

Episode 21:

Spoiler:
I don't read the manga but this seems to be going in a direction that may be intriguing but is something I didn't quite want. The idea that the Female Titan is being controlled by a spy and being ordered to retrieve Eren suggests that there is someone else controlling the Titans. My guess is that it will be some human who, for some reason, decided to destroy all mankind. Very common in anime and, in my opinion, it would pretty much crush the idea I initially had of the show which was one that resembled an epic tale - Man losing a continuous struggle and finding false happiness in their close quarters until a normal man comes along and decides he wants to fight back, regardless of the odds, thus becoming a hero.

I liked the anime simply because of that but this Titan Master idea and Eren being able to transform are turning this into plain anime. The destiny of the World in the hands of a kid with a ridiculously exaggerated power, fighting in epic wars? Where have we seen that before? Aside from everywhere, that is.

Gravity cat the adequately amused
The manga as you'd expect if further into the story than the anime is. All I'll say is that some serious shit goes down. There's even some hints as to where the titans originate from.

So far i have watched attack on titan up to episode 13 and am now waiting for it to finish, so far i have to say that the series is pretty good. The premise is brilliant, characters are pretty good and the action scenes are where the show really shines. I'm pretty curious of what is going to happen to eren now that he has joined the recon corpse but i guess i will have to wait.

As for the manga, i managed to read a few volumes before watching the anime and have to say that in my opinion, it's not really on par with the anime adaptation. It just doesn't get the blood pumping to the level of the anime. Sure, i do acknowledge the benefits that come along with reading the manga such as being able to read far ahead of where the anime is going to end but it simply isn't for me.

ep. 22

Spoiler:
Holy fuck Levi is a fucking monster, that short little fight with the female titan was intense. He was going so fast he turned into a little bladed sonic the hedgehog crawling up her arm.

And also this scene

I could feel the emotional tension when it flipped to Levi's face after this.

Oh man, so much feels in this episode. That part where Petra's father came while talking to Levi with joy almost got me crying.

Too lazy to search for the manga topic of Shingeki no Kyojin so i'll post here instead.

Chapter 49

Spoiler:
DAAAAAAAAAAMN!!! SUICIDE CHARGE BY THE SCOUTING LEGION, IRWIN LOSING HIS ARM, ARMIN MANIPULATING BERTHOLD PSYCHOLOGICALLY, EREN AND HISTORIA BEING RESCUED, TITANS FLYING AROUND

and most of all...

The bastard Titan that ate Eren and Mikasa's mother reappears.... FUUUUUUCK, WTF!?!?!?!?!?!? I'M LOSING MY MIND HERE, I NEED THAT REMOTE FROM CLICK SO I COULD ADVANCE TO NEXT MONTH JUST TO SEE THE NEXT CHAPTER!!!

/rant end

Episode 22

Spoiler:
That fight between the Female Titan and Levi/Mikasa was... wow. Did justice for the manga.

Also, them feels. I read the manga ver. and could feel the disappointment and despair of the Recon Corps, and Eren finally understanding what it feels. For all of that hope the people and the next generation are putting on them and just failing them almost every single time they take a step out of those walls only to return almost everytime, defeated... and this is just from reading it.

When I saw the episode... damn... the music and voice acting just took it to another level.

My feels were just all over me.

Okay episode.

Episode 22

Spoiler:
Man, this episode really showed how badass Levi is, and even with a sprained ankle, he still damaged the Female titan enough to rescue Eren.

Though the rest of the episode is filler, it was pretty heart wrenching when they had to abandon their fallen comrades corpses to escape, then had to face the villagers upon their return. The fact that Petra's father saying she wanted to marry Levi struck me the most.
