[General] Favorite anime or manga and why?

Fav anime and manga is definitely Fullmetal Alchemist, it just so epic and the fights are amazing and I just recently noticed that the characters never get any power-ups except for Al, but its just the ability to transmute without drawing anything, but fights are always amazing. I have to say though 2nd fav is Hajime no Ippo because it always get me pumped up to do anything and I really like the preaching of hard work and dedication even though Im the complete opposite of that.

Hmm anime, it would be Fate/ Zero
Manga, a tie between Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, GTO (both about unusual teachers, coincidence? lol) and Needless (over the top action, ridiculously hilarious fourth wall breaking, and a decent Seinen plot when they remember it lol)

Anime has to be Naruto. Great story, brilliant characters, a wonderful soundtrack, and the list goes on!
Manga would have to Highschool of the Dead, purely because it's one of the only manga's I've read.

Onto my personal favorites, I'd have to say Elfen Lied for manga and Cowboy Bebop for anime.
Elfen Lied is my favorite for manga because it's just an incredible story about love, hate, government corruption, and tons of other shit WHILE having intense fights and really tense relationships.
Cowboy Bebop is just a classic, simply put. I have yet to see an anime that focuses on every aspect of the story. It's still visually amazing, unique, and overall lovable. The soundtrack also just adds to the already amazing anime. It also helped that they had THE BEST English dub I've ever heard.

My favorite manga would be One Piece because of the crazy characters and world that it's set and it has very strong themes from our world.
My favorite anime would be Gin Tama because of how hilarious it is but it can also be serious at times.

Anime: For now, Steins;Gate. Love the suspense and sci-fi references.
Manga: For now, Liar Game. I like how they make the psychological battles between the characters so intense.

Kristoffer
Mantarou
Ef: a Tale of Melodies.
I have an unhealthy obsession with Yuuko, and I also like sad stories quite a bit. Episode 6 of the show also has some of the greatest voice acting I have ever heard.

A real tough pick but I have to go with school rumble. Didn't really feel like a typical highschool romance comedy where all the girls fall in love with the main character for no reason. Very well developed characters with non stop laughter makes it my top choice. Everything other than the ending was perfect for me

My favorite anime is Baccano - the mafia, immortals, gore, de-fingerings, good stuff. Oh and an epic soundtrack filled with lot's of catchy jazz.
manga is a bit harder, there's hellsing, one of the first manga i actually read, there's mysterious girlfriend X, one of the few i actually follow, there's Berserk, which has some of the best writing and THE best art ever...tough. I can't decide.

Angel beats is by far my favorite. Watched it half a dozen times. It's just so heart wrenching and...just...HNNNNNNNNNNNGH. I thought all the characters were cool, story was really well done and the plot twists were great. The ending still gets me. Elfen Lied is next, followed by Gungrave and Cowboy Bebop.
My favorite Visual Novel is Katawa Shoujo.
