[Anime] Haiyore! Nyaruko san

That must have been quite the night for both Nyaruko and Mahiro. I love how his mom is more okay with Nyaruko now. Lots of romantic vanilla in the 2nd half. I think this was the first episode where nothing weird, by this series' standard, happened.

What in the universe was that thing Shanta found?

Mahiro finally told her off, Kuuko was about to make her move...and Mahiro for some inconceivable reason jumps in and plays Yuri-blocker. Ugh! And a lot of help Mahiro's formerly cool mom was. She's no longer objecting to those two getting together, and basically shoves him onto Nyaruko. The rest of the episode, of course, has Nyaruko act out of character so Mahrio will fall for her too...damn it. That's just cruel to us Yuri fanboys out there...

Though I think Nyaruko was equally cute in the latter half of this episode. The contrast between the timid Nyaruko and the usual Nyaruko made her stand out quite a bit and I enjoyed it. If she acted timid like that all the time, it won't be long until she can make a baby with Mahiro.

I'm afraid that attempt to cute her up fell flat for me. She's an obnoxious annoyance. That's how she should stay. Turning her personality a total 180, so they can shove her together with the weak male lead is actually really annoying.

I think it's a good change of pace, but it should really be a one time thing. Her personality should revert to normal next episode, cause as you've said, a total reversal of character so suddenly is poor development and in bad taste. Occasionally messing with her character for some contrast isn't bad though.

Wasn't that manta-ray thing at the dark auction? Pretty sure it was in quite a few scenes.

I think this change of character is the best chance Nyaruko had for making an impact on Mahiro. This time she really managed to state her feelings which puts her ahead of anyone else. I'm sure she'll remain hyper for all the action that is bound to come, but this was a good chance for her. Needed to get her seriousness across in a way that he couldn't just brush off. Something is bound to happen since Mahiro has shown he's not unaffected by her.

Parodies. Parodies everywhere. I like it.

Haruhi parody everywhere. In the three way battle in the second half was Kuuko a street fighter girl? I loved how the other guy was given like no role at all. I really hope both Mahiro and Nyaruko kept those memories.

King of Fighters, not Street Fighter.

I do not like forcefully pairing Mahiro and Nyarko. It made for a shitty episode 7, and does this episode no favors either. Most everything else about this episode was good though.

In my opinion, this anime has officially beat Hayate as a joke reference anime. I like how "Doki Doki High School" becomes "Doki Doki Gakuen" in the middle. Haruhi references, a TWGOK reference, and a cast off Hasuta figure all while going through all the galge cliches. And Bridget and inappropriate Mai cosplay. We got a Nyarko End, which is disappointing because Bromance End (like in True Love) or Mom End would have been infinitely more fitting for this kind of anime.

A cursed dating sim, and more annoying shoving together of Mahiro and Nyaruko. I thought they got their fill of that last episode. Ugh.

Mahiro should have given Kuuko the dakimakura, but selling her body to Kuuko later on works too. "Nyaruko's" return from the bathroom was hilarious. Space must be really boring if Earth's entertainment is popular enough to fight over.

It was pretty much predictable that she was going to do it after the swap. That girl just keeps reminding of Excel from Excel Saga with every episode.

usually it's like "i'm so embarrassed" or something like that judging from her expression and the "RUB IT!" shout,we can already guess what she did.lol.
even though that alien's plot to not ask nyarko directly is really stupid.

Shopping, glasses, hypocrisy, and body swapping. Gotta give Nyarko credit. Girl saw a golden opportunity, and she took it. Can't hate on her for that.
