...what is up with that ending

It's raping time.

I agree, and I thought that episode 2 showcased this series' strong points in characterization, presentation, and writing. It was interesting to note that her mother was the one to instill the principle of only relying on yourself to Ohana, yet she would rely on Ohana to make meals for her and the like. It was also unique in that Ohana took her anger out by preparing a meal that her mother hated, rather than yelling or getting into some kind of big conflict. And Ohana seems to be doing the same thing for Nako and Minko. It's also unusual for a character to focus on being able to rely on others more rather than themselves; usually in the other way around.

The ending to episode 2, though? Man. First I was shocked that it was smut, but then I was even more shocked as he gradually got closer and closer to Ohana. Hopefully this won't turn out to be ugly.

I also looked up what the next episode title, "Balut," was. Supposedly its a boiled egg dish that is popular in Asian countries.

And I'd like to feel "Ohana's special, tender spot"...

It's not my fault

Very nice episode. Seems like Ohana's mother isn't exactly "Best parent of the year". Guess grandmother had an impact on her trying to pass on self-reliance to elementary student. Still hoping Ohana and Minko (even Nako) can find some common ground. Also notice grandmother was lacking her fireband spirit from episode 1.

And that novelist...he worries me. Thinking he is just using the Inn workers for ideas, not a bad person. I hope...

and was thinking of sharing it with you guys. “Ohana-chan” Nako was gasping and appeared from the passage way that leads from the main building to the bathroom. At the same time, Ohana leaned forward her upper body from the window that was thrown open, wrapped up the hot spring town between the mountains, and sensed the tranquility of spring season’s sunlight.

Suddenly, the cold wind of the early spring, which illuminated the flower-shaped hair ornaments, threatened her closely-guarded chastity, and Ohana had to close her laps after she felt something touching her soft and sensitive spot. “So, we’re going to start the foam-covered training session. We’re doing this, because it’s necessary.” Nako hands over a pair of mops to Ohana “Are we using the mops? Not the deck brush?” “Well.. If you use the deck brush… you would be screaming pretty loudly.” After Nako’s fluffy cheek became blushed, she gently pushed Ohana’s back as she tried to mask her curiosity with a smile. As if to tease the naïve apprentice waitress, the front of the white mop swung by.

Well it wasn't too serious about it and the episode even parodying J-Drama moments.
In the end, the perverted Novelist got what he deserved and Ohana, Nako, and Minko are starting to get along. Also Nako did an awesome dive, 10 points!

Okay, while they were all in the Van going after Jiro, they stopped at a Tofu shop(probably asking if they saw Jiro in the truck, or perhaps waiting for the other cook to catch up) we see Iroha and Tomoe who was doing some sort of stretching, but then the scene focused on Iroha and Nako while Tomoe was still making moans and you hear cracking noises in the background, I can't help but wonder how flexible that woman is. Or for that matter, was it just put there for a little laugh.
