Ikki Tousen: Great Guardians

Did the second season even follow the the story line?

I honestly don't remember. I don't think it did, but it's been awhile since I read the manga...

Just watched the first season and I really enjoyed it (other than the obvious reasons). It felt like there was so much more story than Tenjou Tenge had. I'm about to start the second season and I know I'll be looking forward to the 3rd as well.

So far, Great Gaurdians is following the return of Ryofu Housen (green hair, red jacket, no bra). I say return because if you watched the first season, she used a special move on the leading bad guy, Chuuei Totaku, that would kill her along with him. However, she has lost all her memories of who she was, and becomes friends with the regular cast who most seem to forget she was a crazy bitch... a hot lesbian crazy bitch. Mou-chan, the girl with the eye-patch is taking care of her, somewhat helping her remember, though scared that she will remember and return to her old ways.

I fucking love this anime, though its not as exciting as its predesessors.

i see that they include full-course nudity now, Hakufu's nipples are definitely a great addition to the series, lol.

anyways, according to the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, isn't Ryofu supposed to be the strongest warrior every existed , slaying his so called father just for the love of Diao-chan, and later was captured and killed by Sousou.

Kouchuu's awesome, after wearing that strange jewel that reveal ur true desires.

Actually, when referring to her supposed death, I think they're referencing the manga. It makes sense because in Mou-chan's flashback to before Ryofu's death its the manga and not the anime that it references. I'm not sure if I mentioned it previously, but from what I can tell, in order to create this alternate storyline, they took events from the previous two seasons and the manga, mixed them together, and took it from there.

Its been awhile since this series has been a discussed and the reason i bring it back up is that I think its over; episode 12 was the season finale.

Anyone know if there will be another season; I don't read the manga so I'm not sure if theres a storyline in the works that they just creat this new one to fill the time gap.

Well, this season, seems to be built on parts of the first season, the second, and the manga. In the manga, they aren't all that far, I think they're around Chi Bi, which happened in Dragon Destiny. I can only assume, and hope, that there will be another season.
