Another reason it might get unwanted publicity is that it's a well-known series in the anime and manga community, and some shithead out there will likely get a bit too overzealous and do something stupid, bringing unwanted attention to themselves.

I not a backer so i can't say but from the comment page... WHEN THE FUCK ARE YA GOTTA GET LOLI ECCHI? With that i have to say that dmp/PH is a horrible run company. Im lucky that that the yamatogawa kickstarter didn't fail, but i still mad my name isn't in the art book. My hope is that i can get the komodo omnis off the store or secondary market. PH move to digital only via that shitty emanga site and the crap rez and their failures to deliver their amazon preorder made me say im never gonna buy their stuff unless it something i REALLY FUCKING NEED and that gonna be on their marketplace or main store ever again.

I wish FAKKU! could somehow buy DMI out and release "Kodomo no Jikan" because at this point that's about as likely a scenario as DMI actually doing what they claimed they would.

I guess someone on the other Kickstarter got a email from someone from there. He posted a message on the kickstarter comments for everyone else but basically she said their in financial trouble and only got a few books printed of that one and they're waiting for more money to come in.
Problem is even if Jacob could get the rights and all the finished manuscripts, the people who got the kickstarter will have to pay for more because Jacob can't print them out and give them out to them for free. Plus if fakku could do it it's going to be the better quality cover and paper was going to cost more money too. It would get done but depending on what what Jacob does it probably cost next year $5 per book maybe. It depends if DMP was going to do vanilla Essence quality or the project h quality newspaper shitprint.
So unless they get refunds they are out 20-30$ per book.
