I think Ace is already dead. Anyways, i dont think even Ivankov could heal something like that. The guy has a gaping hole in his body. I mean, he probably lost his stomach and liver and lungs and stuff.

Pell survived being hit by a nuke point blank, it became pretty much established after that that Oda likes to troll death in OP.

yeah, but... that could be explained by something like "his bird form was tougher then most humans, and he actually dropped the bomb 10 feet before it exploded giving much less impact, and since it was in the air there were no fragments to hit him", but ace on the other hand had his fire burned by lava. and is being left dead on the collapsing marine HQ for all those lovely marines to deal with even if he survived.
But still, your right. he loves trolling death; how the hell did alvida become a random hot girl,buggy survive lightning,and zoro survive a fresh assortment of stabs/slashes and fighting with the wounds unhealed as well?

Even if his Zoan form was more durable than his human form it's a small nuke we're talking about here, it should've made no diffrence.


Was this stated or shown in the manga? If you ask me it would've made no sense for him to give his "I give my life for my kingdom" suicide speech if he didn't carry the bomb further away from everyone until it exploded.

I really doubt ace is going to be brought alive. Unless a devil fruit user has the power to bring back the dead, it's totally impossible.

If Ace is brought back to life, that would make Luffy's mental breakdown useless. It would not make Luffy mature a bit more mature without a REAL death, like Zoro's childhood friend, Robin's mother, Nami's adopted mother, Chopper's mentor, Usopp's mother, Brook's whole crew, Franky's mentor and Sanji's..... whoa, Sanji didn't have a tragic death :O

no, you misunderstand... that was all hypothetical for how how pell could have survived, not just that first bit about zoan being tougher. all just to point out that ace was completely dead, and no excuses could be made for that.

but since i don't want to end my post with just that, i'll bring up another point... are we going to end up coming back to the Florian triangle? I mean, it seemed to be foreshadowed that there was something causing disappearances for all of those years which could be discoverable; that thing with the glowing eyes. And everything else thats been foreshadowed so far seems to have happened(blackbeard ranted about a show like none the world had seen before, Shanks said ace shouldnt chase blackbeard, luffy was proved to be immune to lighting when he got saved from buggy on the execution stand, the cover page comic about hachi opening a takoyaki stand, and a lot of other things not listed as well). Today i was re-reading that thriller bark, and i noticed that at the end the narrator said "on this particular day they were lucky that the mist was still thick, and it[shown as a silhouette] was hidden by the veil", or something like that.
Kind of makes you think that he's somehow going to eventually get to a day where the mist isn't thick, for whatever reason. and the rest of the crew does have to get past the triangle to get to the archipelago where the ship is, right?

Probably so, yeah, Oda still has a lot to go on, and there are quite a lot of questions left to answer, the Florian triangle being one of them. We don't even know the name of the last Yonkou and what the one piece is either. In regards to Pell, he is a very minor character. No one cares if he is alive or dead. Well msot people dont really care that much. He doesnt really make a difference

I just realized that were almost reaching half of the series.. Wasn't OP supposdly to last up to the 1000th chapter? If you think about it.. 1000 chapters seems kinda short (well for me it is)

Well, Oda was originally planning to end it in just a few years, meaning he planned for it to end around the time of the alabasta arc, i believe, but it was so fun that he extneded. He said in an SBS that the ending would be the same as the one he first thoguht of...

aha, you can check onemanga or one of those sites, i remember it was somewhere around 470 or 480. And that wasnt a word for word quote, that was what i remembered of it... different translations have different wordings, and my memory isn't perfect.

actually, i read somewhere that he was originally going to end it after 5 years, but he ended up having too much fun and kept it going. He's going to have a similar ending to whatever he originally planned though, evidently(according to mangaexpert above me, and with a name like that how could you not trust his info about manga?)

The latest chapter is 579. Damn Shanks is cool. Who would have expected him to show out of nowhere? And no one can stop him b/c they are all tired out from fighting, except maybe Blackbeard's crew. As for the Thriller Bark thing...I wouldn't quite say its stronger than an Admiral. Just b/c it could pwn Luffy's crew doesn;t necessarily mean anything, Kuma wiped out Luffy's crew pretty easily after all.
