[Anime] Maoyū MaŠYūsha

Glad to see a lot of positive response to the first episode (only one-two negatives by far). I thought they covered the right amount of material for their first episode. Any more would've lose the audience in politics/morals/ and economics.
If anything
I'm expecting good things from this series and sincerely hope it delivers solidly.

Manga spoiler (sort of):Spoiler:
Everyone somehow seems to forget, but the anime is an adaptation of the Novel.. not the manga, and The Art was also used from the novel.
Most of the people loves the "Akira Ishida" version to much, that they forget about the Light Novel.
Remember the scene where the characters line up on the hill?
Here's a similar pic, from the Novel website, just look a the Chara Design.

I just watched the first episode. It's not bad. I hope it becomes better throughout the series.

Spoiler:
that's what makes it wrong, people comparing it to the mangas. Eventhough all 3 mangas (not counting the 4-koma) follows the novel closely, but they don't have the same focus with the novel.

Episode one was interesting. It felt a little awkward and rushed at times but it still wasn't too bad. I haven't read the manga or LN though.

I'm not referring to the artstyle, which I also love Ishida's style more. But the part where you point out, "Looks like they're gonna rush it to "that" part, and then referring back to the manga chapters, while in fact, they're not adapting the manga, but the Light Novel and all the things in it.
Now, the anime adaptation is receiving unfair flak because of one manga adaptation. Most people know are judging solely because of the art difference, Suddenly being harsher on this despite they're basically the same story.

Well I thought this had a good first episode. Introduced the world nicely and I'm looking forward to seeing what it can do. Of course love the voices chosen for the leads which helps.

Its hard to not compare it to the manga since the light novel isnt translated(not that i know of anyways) so the manga is the only reference most of us have to go off of. And I'll probly be comparing things that happen in the show to the manga versions throughout the entire span of the show. Though i think they met all of my expectations after reading all 3 mangas complete justice, i was very impressed with the first episode.
The animation wasnt a problem to me at all, i thought the animation fit the tone of the anime perfectly. And Maou was gorgeous.

What is it with people calling the character design "Generic". Nobody called the character designs for Spice and Wolf Generic when it first came out...

Fukuyama Jun is one of my favorite male VA's I'm so glad he showed up again as the Hero's voice. The Holo and Kraft Lawrence thing got to me as well.

You're getting really riled up. Second, nobody is reading the LN because there's only like two chapters of it in English and the Ishida manga is the farthest ahead. Third, 'that scene' only took part in a recent Ishida chapter, which has a chapter size of 40+ pages each. Fourth, the anime seems to be covering the same amount of material per episode as a single chapter of each of the three main manga series (accounting for page differences anyway). Considering that, 'that scene' still seems awfully far off for a 12-episode anime unless it's been mentioned somewhere that it is a split cour or something.

Just finished watching the first episode. I dig the plot of the series, but I don't really care for the characters. The characters seem to be very over exaggerated...but I'll admit I did laugh at the hug pillow scene.
