It's very similar to Spice and Wolf. The first episode made me wince but the second one showed promise. I feel like it doesn't do comedy very well so hopefully it stays more on the serious side... I like the Head Maid, she's got her shit together.

Just watched both episodes. It seems pretty promising so far, and I think they did a pretty good job with the mix of serious moments and comedy. Head Maid seems like a bitch, though. Hero's voice sounds a lot like Kanda Sorata's from Sakurasou, are they the same VA by any chance? Actually, quite a few of the voices sound like from recent anime. Oh well, guess the VAs got more work, then. Looking forward to episode 3.

This guy over here is the VA. I'm quite surprised that he's the VA of Lelouch.

Spoiler:
I enjoyed this one. It had a distinctly more Spice and Wolf feel to it than the previous two episodes, I think. Also, Hero going out to find Female Mage seems to signal more action and adventure will be coming up. The romance seems to have picked up in this episode, as well. The next episode looks like it's going to have some more dramatic elements to it, if the preview is anything to go by. Looking forward to it.

I really love how they're doing the romance in this. Maou is adorable. The action should finally start to pick up in the next episode, not that the show wasn't good without it, but i can't wait to see Yuusha crush some demons.

Anyone realize about the page pictures in the ending song? It seems like they're representing an event in each episode, except for the first picture. So far, 3 pictures are matching up with the episodes (I'm not reading the manga or the novel, so this might be a good way to guess about next episode, haha). Just want to make sure if I'm guessing right about this.


2nd picture: eps1, Demon King and Hero meet and make the contract.
3rd picture: eps2, Head Maid find the 2 girls (New maids) in the horse stable.
4th picture: eps3, Merchants of the Alliance talk about the compass.

It will be interesting to see how the relationship between the hero and the convent keeper plays out. Also that forehead kiss, he should have just gone for it, but the face the demon king made after was hilarious.

Episode 2 makes me think of Harvest moon and then Shogun 2 for some reason. Episode 3 was good.

I just realized that I don't think I know anyone's actual name. Just titles like "Maou" and "Yuusha". Do the characters ever mention the fact that none of them probably knows each others real name?
