I've never seen Naruto and have (until just now) refused to watch it because of naru-tards ruining my potential enjoyment of the show. Am I missing out on it or is it just another generic over-hyped anime that isn't worth the time?

Actually, i believe he posted it on the right topic. It's just the tittle that's misleading. All he wants is advice if he should watch that trash of an anime.

Thank you for justifying my original take on the series. I've got better things to do with my time like read a book or raising a child.

Agreed, I watched it when I was younger, childhood wasted. If you want some mindless Shounen read/watch Bleach instead, which is at least decent for a little while.

Dont watch an anime if its shounen and hundreds of episodes long. Read the manga, its faster and easier. Well, if you have the actual book, that is.

Fuck it I'm not even going to bother, if I'm that bored I'll rewatch Evangelion again and try to extrapolate more making meaning from the last episodes and movies, at least then I'll feel kind of accomplished...

The anime is crammed with endless fillers; the manga is definitely much more superior but hey, you won't be missing that much really.

Its not exactly over hyped because Naruto began 12 years ago. The manga's pretty good. The anime isn't that good except for a few select episodes.

The Anime is full of filler episodes, and when there aren't fillers they show the canon story, it's takes forever for anything to happen. I like the manga, but I would stay away from the Anime

I watched a hundred or so episodes, then got bored. I hear the one where they are older is better though.

skip the fillers and lose like 180 episodes and have a slightly better experience with it.
I kinda like Naruto and the stuff that's going to happen in anime next.
