[Anime] Sankarea

Just found out that an anime has been green-lit for the ongoing romance-comedy manga, Sankarea. The plot of the manga centers around a zombie-obssessed high-school freshman named Chihiro Furuya. His obssession goes to the point that his dream in life is to "kiss a zombie girl". Enter Rea Sanka, a runaway girl who helps Chihiro ressurect his pet cat after it died in an accident. Through a series of events involving a potion that can raise the dead, Rea dies and soonafter becomes a zombie. The story goes on from there.

For fans of the monster girl genre, this should be worth checking out as the manga goes into some of the daily problems of being a zombie. Such as resisting the urge to eat people and so on. The anime is scheduled for a release in Spring of 2012.

Sorry about that. I didn't see a pre-existing thread on the Masterlist, so I started to assume that it got overlooked or something. Thanks for pointing that out, btw. Just started reading the manga a few weeks ago and only recently stumbled over that article.

This show's gonna be awesome, zombies, hot girls, hot zombie girls, what more could a guy want.

Can I expect some fanservice from this particular title, even though the female protagonist is technically a zombie? :P I suppose I got to check out the manga too.

IT'S HERE, HOORAY FOR HOT ZOMBIE CHICKS. So episode 1, well it's a lot different from the manga but that's totally okay with me, as long as it's still interesting. The OP was a little too happy for me, I was hoping for something more like this, but whatcha gonna do. Anyway I can't wait to see more of this show it's freaking awesome, also does anyone else think DEEN is taking a few points from Shaft on this one?

I really liked the first episode, but I'm late in the game and only just heard about it today. I was so ;~; about Babu though. Such an adorable little kitty.

Whenever I see a new series and I like it, I always play out in my head on what the doujinshi will be like and if it's something I should keep an eye out when they start appearing - but I don't know what to expect from this series. I haven't read the manga so I have no idea what to expect from her as a zombie.

Basically I'm either picturing grotesque zombie/guro doujinshi or adorable zombie romance doujinshi.

Anybody else catch the Shaun of the Dead reference at the begining of the first ep?
