Save our Anime!!!
Who thinks that broadcasted Anime is about to die?

First USA network kills it, then The Family Channel, then G4 TechTV, the anime networks go down, WB and Fox Kill ther shows, now Toonami is dead, and There is talk of it being removed from Adult Swim, and even the pay networks are talking about killing it. This is the LAST STRAW!!! SAVE OUR ANIME!!! SAVE OUR ANIME!!! I've been signing petitions all night long trying to get the anime back on the air, but with george bush's stranglehold on the economy, and his fucked up laws, Anime is nearly impossible in the US to be distributed, much less broadcasted. Can someone feel me on this? can someone Just help create a Government petition repealing the laws to give to the now Democratic controlled government and if there is already one can someone link it please? I want my Anime!!!

Wtf is this shit? I've never heard about this. It's nice to watch it on tv, but I buy my anime, and sometimes download them if I think it's good.
If they are, then that's gay cause I'm just continuing Hell Girl on the IFC Channel since I have yet to buy more dvds.

The only anime on TV I get is the Funimation channel and they're still adding shows every few months. They just started Burst Angel a week ago, I'm enjoying that anime.

Honestly, I don't care if anime stops getting shown on TV. I never watch anime on TV for three reasons:
1) Dubs usually suck
2) Downloading and watching three episodes back-to-back is better than watching one single episode a day, or a week
3) There's the fear that something has been cut out, whether it's nudity or violence, or the dub has changed some lines to make it more "appealing"
Hell, though I do enjoy buying anime and watching it on my TV, I wouldn't be too heartbroken if the entire anime industry in America collapsed. It's too damn expensive. Pay almost thirty bucks for four episodes? Fuck that. That's part of the reason the anime industry is suffering so much in America, not just because people download it, but because buying an entire anime series costs a hundred dollars, and that's if the series is thirteen episodes long. If it's twenty-six episodes, then it's two hundred dollars. I like anime, but I don't like it that much.

There definitely was a charm around Adult Swim that attracted me. The anime they chose to air were great and often classics. (Alexander the Conquerer, Big O, Witch Hunter Robin, Yu Yu Hakusho, etc. etc.) Toonami was another great network that featured hot anime series, like the DBZ series and Rurouni Kenshin. I don't care if I stopped watching anime on TV, but it shouldn't cut other peoples' rights to watch anime either. In fact, before I even knew that what I was watching was anime, I was hooked to those shows. (Which says something about the awesomeness of anime) It draws teens into a world of something beyond mindless cartoons but stuff with actual plot and character building. Hell, even I remember waking up in the morning and watching Zoids New Century Zero, Chaotic Century, and Guardian Forces on Cartoon Network. It was the shit, and still is. Why are they shutting the anime-broadcasting networks? I for one want to see the reason why.

Meh, they aired good anime but when they stopped doing so, I stopped watching them on tv.. But I heard of Funimation has it's own anime channel.

Yeah there are very few dubs I can watch and it's only those from back in 2000 when I first started getting into anime (Sailor Moon, Gundam Wing, etc...)
Though I don't mind watching episodes once a week cause thats what I do with fansubs, but with tv you'd have to wait for them to repeat, which is annoying, and why I very rarely watch prime time tv.
Though it doesn't effect me personally, it goes to show how shitty the economy how anime got so popular and now there is not much revenue being made (honestly though, them cutting shit is a prime reason why I don't buy stuff). I only buy ones now from series I absolutely MUST have. Which are about 20 series.
