K-On! has a non-linear storyline since it depicts important or memorable events of the club and etc. Also, it's a slice of line anime.
If you want something that has a straight forward storyline, try watching BECK or Working!!.

It was ok, but the ending totally blew. There was no closure.I figured there would be like a 60second segment at the end of the last episode, ya know, showing them a few years from now when they were famous or something, looking back on when they started the band.
Thats how I would have ended it.
But, no. Ending sucked. We never know if they become famous, or whatever.
