Oh yes, a second season! Great. Got me stoked on watching it (and in addition, more characters to see)...

... although I'd really want to see more development on the Misaka/Touma side ^_^

Episode one subbed

Watched it and there is only one thing I can tell you guys: To Aru Majutsu No Index is gonna kick major ass this season.
It's been a while I've been this excited :P.

Haha, I agree with you there. The productions values for Index have greatly increased since season one, and Index and Misaka look even cuter than ever. The opening and ending themes are quite nice, but I'm not sure if I like them more than the first season's yet.

Spoiler:
The episode itself was pretty solid as well, even though it was a one-shot. It had the right mix of comedy and action/drama that I really enjoyed in the first season. I really felt bad for Touma by the end of the episode, though, so hopefully he got some help from the badass wind magician.

Speaking of him, I really liked his technique, with the arrows in his bow being replaced by actual wind. I felt bad for him by the end, as he gradually admitted to loving the woman that he was trying to save. I wonder what kind of curse it was though, and if we will find out more about this.

I'm also wondering what kind of trouble Kaori got herself into this time, but it looks like a major plot arc is going to start up in the next episode, so I'm definitely excited for that. :)

Hm boy to I miss this series, ah Index that adorable moe blob, I missed her even more >.<

Well it was a nice episode, I just remember now that the episodes always end so soon and I am left wanting more.

Ok here's one thing that bugged me, the restaurant scene, really, if all that shit happened would you still be inside there just watching? Sure some ppl in the place might also have abilities and all, but if I am in a place and some guy starts smashing windows, I am outta there at light speed. Just seems strange to me that all the ppl in there were just ignoring all the ruckus, despite watching it all.

Oh also, I now remember the long speeches that accompany each episode >_>

Touma....you idiot, you left Misaka at the worst possible moment(so far) though she was so cute at that moments as well >.<

Well, you gotta remember that the setting is Academy City, a place full of espers. I'm sure that a good majority of the people are used to seeing people spaz out with their powers from time to time. Probably not that much, but some. Plus, when you are in a state of shock, sometimes you can't even move. They probably didn't know what to do in that situation, since it all happened so quickly. I'm sure some of them ran out, but we just didn't see it.

Not that I'm trying to defend the scene or anything. Just a possible answer why. It was probably just a lazy artistic decision, though. XD

Yea its ok I know the setting it just seemed weird seeing such un response bg ppl until after the scene is over meh whatever

When the speech was starting up I immediately checked how much time was left and went "Oh fuck no". But thankfully, the ED came early so Touma's speech only lasted half as long as it would otherwise. If Touma keeps his speeches down, then I'll be able to stomach it.

yea I checked the time remaining too and had a similar response. I wouldn't mind speeches from other characters, just I had a hard time sitting here while he ranted.

I have just one thing to ask before downloading the first episode: Whose subs should I go with? I'm seeing a GG-UTW joint effort sub version, and an Ayako sub version. Suggestions?

Most likely gg-UTW version is probably slightly better in subbing quality, but as far as I'm concerned, they shouldn't have bothered. Ayako has subbed the previous series To aru Kagaku no Railgun, and I they did a great job as always. I'm sticking with Ayako for continuity. Also, Ayako provides different file size versions for those who like quality and upscaling (720p, 350MB~) and those who prefer more compact files (480p, 170MB~).

I have yet to watch TaMnI S2 ep1, so I'll post my thoughts on the episode sometime later next week.

Lololol, that was some funny shit there. People sure be going bonkers on fansub quality. My comment to that is just watch whoever you think is better or fits your preferences (quality vs size, HD vs SD, better fansubbing quality).

And Index in bondage? Oooh man, I've got to watch this.

For me, I prefer the Ayako Subs, mainly because they actually read the Light Novels where the anime is based on.

The next few episodes would be the start of the REAL action.

Plenty of service in Episode Two. I was surprised that they even had some for this series.

Aside from that, the Amakusa has one badass leader there.
