So apparently, the mangaka has to pay every time he draws her and is after money from merchandise and all that shit.
I don't think Haruna would've appeared in Mayoi Neko Overrun if that was the case. She might have threaten him with copyright or whatever, but I don't think she actually followed through on it.

After reading through some of the replies, I am somewhat upset that
Haruna's image has been tarnished by the actions of the artist's wife. They may resemble one another but I definitely hope that their behaviour is nowhere the same.
Well, I think about it this way, rather than Haruna actually being modeled after Yabuki's wife, it's more like she is his "ideal woman". Once you cut through all the RL drama, it is, in a way, romantic.

If anyone want to read the new manga translated go to mangafox.
Ledhan I was planning to make that picture my new avatar. You and I now have a problem >.<~!!!
Awesome avatar.
I dodged a bullet there, though I actually prefer Momo's drooling face as an avatar.

Now for the story. It was awesome. I can really see the series starting up strong. However my favorite will always be Yui Kotogawa. Seriously I want to see something happen between her and Rito.
Yui~! Anyway, it does look like chapter 162 was retconned a bit. There's no way Yui would be able to be around Rito so easily if he "confessed" to her. I was imagining her seeing Rito and running away blushing. So while I am disappointed that didn't happen, it's understandable. You got to maintain those "Harem lines".
