Twelve Kingdoms: Based on a Japanese novel series by Fuyumi Ono and is similar in style to Chronicles of Narnia but has the same epic scale and plot of Lord of the Rings but it's still very unique. This is my uncontested favourite anime.
Monster: Another great (and long) series that I enjoyed. I stopped half way through for about a month because I started watching Bleach and Naruto at the same time and they were faster paced. At around episode 25 I think I was so wrapped into this series that I watched about 10 episodes in 2 days before stopping. Then when I picked it back up I made sure to watch it all within a week.
FLCL: First time I tried to watch this I stopped after 6 minutes, deleted it, and contemplated gouging my eyes out. Then I tried again later and it made it into my top 10 (strangely enough).
I also like Bleach, Naruto (excluding filler and including Shippuuden), Code Geass, Death Note, and plenty of others.

hmm, faviorite anime...that's always a tough call, my reply either ends up being more of a "recent favorite" or something i grew up with. so lets see...
gundam seed because it had "flay" lol. i mean she spiced thing up at times. also quite a bit of hell took place on those last two episodes, leaving me on the edge of my seat to see how it went down.....oh, and yzak (however u pronounce his name)
robotech, just because it got me into the mech ganre. (never completly finished the series)
boggie-pop phantom, well, i just like how each case lead to another person's sinerio.
code geass isnt over, but i defin enjoyed just about every episode so far.
and parts of dbz, not nessarly the entire series, err more like, the 1st saga, and important/main battles.

all time favorite KyoAni anime
Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu!
Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid
Air
Kanon (2006)
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu
Lucky Star
i'm looking forward to watching Clannad, which is a WIP of theirs... they'll probably release it at around late 2007
from what i've seen in the previews, it'll probably be just like Air and Kanon: erogame/dating-sim situations, short but sweet eyecandy fight scenes, and probably same drama and humor like retarded klutzy girls, supernatural beings who are about to die in a few weeks or days, well-delivered slapsticks...

currently my favorite would have to be one piece, but i am a bit biased at the moment because im currently watching it.
other series that would qualify:
-dragon ball/dbz (not gt however)
-flame of recca (i wish they continued this show like they obviously planned to)
-lodoss wars (miniseries, the show was good, but not as good)
some honorable mentions off the top of my head:
-star ocean ex
-naruto(started great, hit a year or two of filler, recovered with shippuuden but not really fav material)
-bleach(started getting great, but lost interest with bounto arc)
-tokyo underground(cool but crap ending)
something i shamefully enjoyed:
-yawara: fashionable judo girl :?:

Kara no Kyoukai.
Love this anime. Nice storyline, some philosophical and metaphysical ideas, great fight scenes, awesome sountrack, and I like the characters.
I like all Type-Moon originated animes but I like Kara no Kyoukai the best. F/SN and Tsukihime kinda changed a lot from the original visual novels but Kara no Kyoukai nearly did the same as the original novel. (I played and read them all)

Clannad (After Story) will probably be my favorite anime for a long time to come. I actually watched every episode with my girlfriend, and it a pretty sad sight seeing both of us trying not to cry in the later episodes.

Little White Butterflies Staff
Keroro Gunsou hands down.
Great characters, great humor.
Other than that, Hyakko and Afro Samurai (if you want to consider that "genuine anime"). Hyakko makes me all warm and fuzzy inside with it's basically all-female cast and the way the story unfolds. Afro Samurai just kicks ass.

My very favourite animé was Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann. I watch like one second of it and before I know it I've rewatched the entire series again. And it gets more awesome every time.
