Your First Manga

First manga here would be my kid sister's Sailor Moon manga. First manga I actually bought myself was Chobits volume one. Got it for the naked chick, stuck around for the awesome plot. That's around the same time I first started to really get into anime, and not settling for what I could get on Toonami and Adult Swim.

My first manga that I can remember is probably Doraemon, my sister's Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball, Kung Fu Boy. From there I've started to watch Anime. So I started watching and reading Japanese material is from 1st grade. Started hentai at 8th grade.

my first manga ?
I thought It was Pharoah Curse (王家ã®ç´‹ç« , ÅŒke no MonshÅ).
a very long manga published for more than 20 years
and still ... unfinished (WTH, finish it quick !)
It's Classic.
It's remind me of 486 and 386 :x
why did wiki said it ,Crest of the Royal Family :?:

My first manga, Gundam Wing. Found it when wandering in a Toys-R-Us all those years ago. The 4komas were awesome!
My first manga not based on an existing anime, The Candidate for Goddess. Still incomplete, like most of Yukiru Sugisaki's mangas ... at least I might be able to finish DNAngel and Lagoon Engine Einsatz.
My first completed manga, DearS. Found a preview of it when looking through Tokyopop's website soon after the website started. I love Peach-Pit's style.

Hmm, mine was Fullmetal Alchemist, just because manga was non-existant for me till about a year ago(damn New Zealand for being so far away from anywhere). Got it for the alchemy thing and the artwork, and I still love it now. Still need to collect more of it, though Borders is being a bitch and hasn't stocked the last two volumes released from Chuang Yi.
The first manga I bought and finished was Midori no Hibi, which is such an awesome romantic slice-of-life story. Much better than the anime in my opinion; you would have to be blind not to see what they cut out of it, though the studio did quite well considering that they only had 13 episodes to produce it I guess.
Gah, so much uncollected manga I need...*waits for more discounts so he can buy more*

Definitely Doraemon, like many other fellow members.
As a child, which male, maybe even females, wouldn't want a futuristic robot cat helping you out with day-to-day activities with its wonderful and interesting gadgets? Adventuring in other worlds or timelines is a great benefit too.

either... Ranma 1/2 or Evangelion :D haven't finished either yet lol Took be several years before I got the 2nd volume of Ranma (when I finally started earning some money hehe) and Eva still isn't finished, thanks to Sadamoto taking his sweet time drawing it and then it taking forever to make its way over here :P
My manga collection is still small, but it's getting better now it's all a bit more affordable and available from Amazon :P

hmmm got a bit of a bad memory but i think that unless it was a little slice of hentai of the net my first would prolly be either chobits(i was drawn to this by the hot robot girl on the cover tbh) or ranma 1/2. i never finished either and didnt really stay with them much. the one ive actually stayed with consistently is Negima. my collections small as well atm(other than like 3 random ones its all negima) tho as soon as i get a job i expect that will probably change.

Dragon Ball, a long long time ago. I wasn't really that into manga then, I was really young and didn't really pay attention to the style, so it was just another comic to me, with a longer story and better characters and better humor. I loved it anyway, even if I had no idea what manga was.
First doujin was not longer then maybe 2 months ago, it was the Seiken Densetsu 3 from this very site. I couldn't resist as I am a long time fan of the Mana series, and here I am now xD

Splendiferous
my first manga was ghost in the shell, incredibly complex comic for a first readthru, but I get more and more meaning each time I go through it. First doujin would have to be evangelimoon.

my first manga was dragonball, I bought 1 or 2 volumes from a bookstore, I still remember how I was reading from from left to right instead of right to left and I was all like ''WTF!?''

D.N.Angel & Love Hina would be my first two, since they were the first to be released in Denmark. I still love them both to death.
First doujin would be Evangelion Paradise Lost 2, which I haven't been able to find since, and my first hentai video would be the only Eva hentai film ever released.
Which I can't seem to find again either, oh joy... -.-

Hmm... it's either a strange coincidence that most people read Love Hina as their first manga, or Love Hina was so great of a manga that people thought, "If I had to start on a manga, it mjust be Love Hina because people keep referring to it and talking about it."
I'm no exception. Love Hina was my first true manga that I read, and I bought the entire manga set as well. I remember my friend(s) talking about it and referring me to read it as well, so after a year into webcomics, I decided to check out this manga, and the world of manga and anime opened.
