Any news for PuniKano?

If it makes you feel any better, one of the reasons Puni Kano got delayed a little is due to the fact we learned how Wani specifically treats their colors on covers to produce an even more vibrant result when printing.
Renai Sample turned out better than we could have expected quality wise, but with Pyon-Kti's art, the colors are -so- vibrant that we wanted to make sure it would result just as well on print as it does digitally.
It took us (me) a few tries to get it right since it was a learning curve (I never learned anything like that in school), but we did it and it's all in the hands of the printer this go around.

Not sure what else you're expecting to hear.
So, should we get another month of GOLD? (or eles... maybe...)
To be honest, they really don't have to/need to give us another month of GOLD. Once was enough; any more and it's just being greedy (to me).

I haven't pre-ordered this yet. Would they be ready to print copies for orders made this week or would it take longer to prepare?
It would be so neat if Fakku printed locally so that there wouldn't be issues with stock and schedules.

Mike spent a lot of time back and forth with various printers locally. We agree it'd be nice to have a good printer locally so it'd be faster, however every printer in the state on where they're located ended up declining to work with us. They were too concerned about being associated with adult material and would conflict with some of their other clients. It's unfortunate but there's not really anything we can do about it, if anything it's their loss on money.

I would suggest to find one in Canada like Icarus did, but I remembered this one time when their shipment had to be sent back to the printer for some reason and once at Customs, they might've had a bit of an issue for some characters being loli/shots. :x
Don't know all the details but I hear Canada is a bit on the puritan side when it comes to Hentai.

Canada is an even worse choice, Project-H has their printer in Canada, which is why they're so strict about not having loli material, or at least very hesitant to. Lolicon is illegal by all definitions there and it would cause a lot of issues doing more controversial work through a Canadian printer.

Well that sucks, though I do understand the potential controversy around loli. I just hope that Fakku and its printer gets better at putting the books out. Renai Sample turned out great and it'd be neat to see the next ones meet the same level of quality without the baggage of working overseas. But that's probably just wishful thinking when it comes to things beyond our control or borders.

If we stick with the same printer there shouldn't be any serious snags in the future. We now know an approx time frame it takes to deal with overseas and we know how to properly prepare the colored jackets in the same fashion that Wani does now. It's just a matter of rinse and repeat at this point.

Spoiler:
has anybody ponder on the possibility of contacting a mexican printer? Laws on this material aren't as strict over there. Not to mention the cost could be the same as having them printed locally or even cheaper.

I was going to suggest this actually but I doubt Mexico right now is a place for a pretty boy like Jacob here. :P With all the cartel shit going on there and possible civil war.
But yes, as far as I know, Mexico has no laws regarding loli/shotas hentai which is one of the few good things about Mexico right now.
Also, it wouldn't be the first time an Anime company goes to Mexico to print their products. Funimation had their Blu rays/DVD with slip cover made in Mexico.
It might be actually be cheaper in Mexico considering the dollar there is way more valuable than the peso.

Come on, Jacob wouldn't need to actually GO to Mexico. At much he will need to make a few phone calls and they will be set. Mexico looks like a pretty good alternative now, and to be honest I highly doubt the cartels would interfere in this business. Just the opinion of a fellow mexican fapper :P

Typically it takes 2 - 3 months from when a book is complete till we have the paperback edition in our offices. In most cases we release the digital edition as soon as the book is complete and immediately send it off for printing. A good rule of thumb going forward will be to expect the paperback to start shipping 3 months after the digital edition is made available online.

I was half joking about Jacob going to Mexico. x3
So now the only thing would be for Jacob to be willing to look south of the border and see if the printers there are able to match the high quality we come to expect from Fakku books, and we all be set.

Like I said in the past we're really happy with our current printer, they understand our vision perfectly and I see them as a partner. I don't think we'll be looking for a new printer anytime soon.

Of course. I only went on like this because it seemed at one point you guys were looking for a more local alternative. Can't really complain about the current printer either for they did produce nice results.

Ever tried asking the frenchies? (though printing might be more expensive)
(EDIT: just saw one of my series with good quality printing is printed in Italy)
