"im always cute"
Hi, after being enlightened as to what actually happened regarding the various threads, merges, and moves, I have come to the following conclusions:
1.) The two threads "What are you listening to right now" and "Rate the song above" are different enough to remain as two separate entities.
2.) Both "What are you listening to right now" and "Rate the song above" are threads that should belong to the sub-forum Chat Topics and Forum Games (CTFG), because of the nature of posts typical to both threads: Short, non-serious replies to only the previous poster. Additionally, because a single user may reply multiple times to these threads in a short time interval, their categorization fits much better with that of a typical CTFG thread.
Did Waar move the topic without trying to understand the topic itself, OR he moved it because he can and his way of thinking is overrules another.
If its first, then its a mistake. Accidents happen.
But if its second, no offence, but youre a self righteous prick.
What, no third? How about, "After reviewing the thread it was determined that by the standards which have been used to categorize every other thread thusfar, the thread should be moved"?
I can appreciate you trying to step back and analyze the matter but you need to do it completely and objectively. Your bias was pretty obvious here.

Dont hit me in the face, but let me get this straight from my understanding.Waar here, Moved Rate the song above 3.5, because of a report. Because Waar can, he moved the topic from music to CTFG. Hobogunner doesent like it and from the looks of it other people too (including me).
So, i have a question.
Did Waar move the topic without trying to understand the topic itself, OR he moved it because he can and his way of thinking is overrules another.

And you deserve this if it is the second one.
Spoiler:
This is my opinion of this at the current moment. Besides. There is a phrase.
Power corrupts.
I really can't believe I'm doing this again...Rendition of how I see events:
About a week ago i get two reports about two different threads being in the wrong sections. I read both threads and agree they should be in the chat section. I merged a thread your currently playing song, another thread about rating a song with a final thread about rating a song together in the chat section. I understand the reasoning for the thread. I finish off the night by going to bed. Some time over the next 48 hours users take it upon themselves to make another thread about rating songs in the music section, which tegumi merges with the first thread once more. about two days later I checked the Music section and a 3rd thread about "rate the song above you" was in the music section. These feedback threads were in response to the first and third moves (both done by me).
I knew what the threads were about, I looked at them carefully to be sure I didnt misunderstand what they were and decided at that point that I agreed with the original reports about where these threads belonged. I'm sorry if you don't agree with my reasoning or my methodology but it is what I believe. Ive seen the "arguments" against my decision, I've examined the situation closely and in all honesty the only fault I can see is that I merged the wrong threads together at some point. I do believe they still belong in the chat section and that wont change.
Final time I explain.

Maybe. But i didnt plan it. So I humbly apologize for my mistake.
Yes you might be right about third option. But as I read previous posts and tried to analyze them. There were elements of power flaunting in the posts. Hence the saying power corrupts.
But WHY it was moved was never made clear to me. Only power decided from my point of view.
Thats why i put 2 choices. Ignorance or being a twat.
*edit*
Now that i readed about your reasonings Waar. I think i can somewhat understand you. I dont like it but i understand.

Is that a real reply? Do you just not have a point?
Also I don't understand your implication about classy, he told people how he got unbanned, I don't see how it has anything to do with me/the other mods.

Not ignoring, bending the thread somehow so you can't move it for whatever reason.

Good luck with that.
To those that care: I've spoken to two of the global mods so far and I have only one more to speak with. Thus far there are 3 people for leaving it in the chat section and the 4th is unknown.

Well, honestly, I don't.
Your reasoning of moving does not make sense to me, you may call me dumb, idiot, stupid, whatever-you-name-it. But it still doesn't make any sense to me.
And please, I don't need you to explain it all over again, TLDR and I was just stating my train of thought.

Not reading anything posted here's my two cents.
Threads without any serious discussion/debate/ect should be in chat topics and forum games.
That rating music thread was nothing more than posting a youtube thread, leave a number and moving on. In all the times I've looked at a post in that thread, I've never seen nothing more than that, or a "That songs pretty cool." The end.
As for merging the threads, I do not agree with. According to Waar, however, it was a mistake to merge.
In the end, chat topics and forum games has more traffic than any other section. It would more likely to recieve replies in a rapid moving section than whatever the music section is today. I think the real problem is some people just dislike CTFG and its users rather than actually believing that it's in the wrong section.

I spoke with Matt(one of our Administrators) and he also believes the threads should be the in the Chat section, at this point I think it's fairly conclusive but I still want to talk to Gambler about his reasoning.

Dear Mods,
The thread in the music section allowed those serious about music to share(post), discuss(rate and comment) and listen to music we normally wouldn't have normally listened to. After being moved to CTFG, all I can see is a dumbed down version of the thread. Also, now that you don't listen to member requests anymore, I'm going lo leave my support here and move on.

We don't want the traffic. We want people who actually are serious about music to post in the Music section.

We want people who actually are serious about music to post in the Music section. That's what you may want, but that's not what has happened. There's no secret code keeping someone from going into that section to post crap just to rack up some dumb post count. And that's what that thread was, a youtube video and a number. So serious right? If there was actual discussion about the music posted, I'd be inclined to agree. Hell, I'd tell Waar to eat a dick, but that's not the case here.

OT: Nice pick, 7/10
7/10 hmmm not bad
7/10.
6/10 - Not my type. Sorry.
This can't be dumbed down any further.
If there was genuine musical discussion going on, I could understand your frustration. However, all other topics like this "Rate the user above", "Rate the above users avatar", are in CTFG, which have an identical format.

i really don't see the reasoning as to why increasing an arbitrary next to your user name is an issue. A part from the waifu game it really holds no negative connotations to anything. Ive been active in many forums and still am in multiple ones, bigger and smaller, and fakku is the only one to segregate hierarchy of posts like this.
The main reason i initially wanted the thread moved back into music was because when it was placed in CTFG the thread basically died out. This is for two reasons - one, new users couldn't find the thread because when people are interested in music it's only common sense they go to the music section rather than CTFG. Secondly, CTFG is a hive of activity to where a thread on the front page can easily end up on the second of third page in a matter of hours. Considering the majority of people that use that thread in the first place never go into CTFG, to go into there and sift through multiple pages just to post in a thread is a rather tedious and a lot of people i'd imagine won't bother in doing so.
Music is a universal privilege, from 200,000 years ago in Africa to the Africa of today, music is something everyone has. It holds a slightly higher symbolic meaning to people than an egotistic and personal expression like an avatar or signature. Like it or not, people like to share opinions and see what other peoples opinions on their own music tastes are. I mean otherwise there wouldn't be an industry for it.

But they weren't, they were just throwing out numbers with no explanation. Put some critical thinking into your judgments, talk about what parts of the songs you enjoyed or what parts you didn't. Just throwing out "7/10, 5/10, etc." makes it clear that the topic wasn't being discussed seriously.
