I want to add something:
I really want to have a subscription.
yet, in europe, especially germany, not everyone has a credit card.
Not even my Parents or Grandparents have one. I asked.
Paypal or "SOFORT AG" would be immensly valuable for us (or at least me).

I am willing to pay monthly for my subscription, even with a fee for the payment methods, yet as of right now, that is not an option for me.

Edit: By the way, can someone help me figure out a way to throw my money at FAKKU? Please? I >really< want a subscription, but a credit card is not an option, since those come with extra costs. (Plus I would have another card just for FAKKU)

Isn't there SOME way to get around this problem?

one would be to tell us how German adults pay for adult content in the web when they don't have credit card. you can help more on that by telling us what German adult website opts for in this case.

Fakku can only help you if you help fakku.

you really cant ask people to give you options about payment when they don't really fathom the problem you have. I think it's weird not having the option to get a credit card, but if that's the custom there, then tell us how people pay legally for digital porn

I wouldn't mind paying for Hentai all that much if it's actually worth it (I bought euphoria and Starless, for example), but I'm not a fan of subscription models, especially because you can only read the chapters online.

Is it possible that sometime in the future you can buy and download complete magazine issues instead like is already the case with books for say 5 - 7 dollars?

That's an idea being discussed, hopefully it's implemented.

I think its safe to say at this point that a good handful of the ones opposed to this aren't of age. :^)

FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU!

I understand the need to do this. Ignore the beginning of this post, I'm just being a crybaby. I wish you well and will find free content elsewhere.

...but fuck you.

...sorry.

the idea is so good, that would also promote pirates unfortunately.

I really don't know... I rather keep it online if it prevents a scenario where one guy pays for all the masses to see. I'm already kinda annoyed with fakku books being ripped on other sites. it doesn't do justice to the real "support" that I want the artists to have.

then comes the thing a lot of people hate... DRM

If I atleast could buy books with Paypay.
R.I.P Free Fakku

Gonna come back from time to time to read the books I´ve purchased so far again but nothing else left here to do for me now, sadly as I am not going to pay 13 bucks every month, 10$ per book was nice and I´d love to buy the new Bosshi book but w/e I guess.

Everyone else who is going to actively stay here - Have fun ;)

Cheers

I still can't get over how horribly rude and immature users are in relation to this issue. I'm a new member of Fakku and the forums, and seeing this is just disgraceful. Is Fakku's subscription on the pricey side? Yes. So guess what you do if you don't like that? Say you're sorry, thank Jacob for all he's done for you, and politely exit the building.

You don't throw a hissy fit that perpetuates the stereotypes that already plague otaku.

Had an account for a while, but this is probably my first forum post. I'll be sure to be back here as a subscriber as soon as I get a job lmao. Good luck, and thanks for all you've done for us Jacob!

Best of luck to you guys in the future, but I wish I'd had some heads up. Didn't keep a list of my collections / favorites Dx

I personally dont think this what right at all. I really did enjoy using Fakku, but alot of good content was removed. Now with this happening + Pururin being down the only alternatives I know are G.E and other sites that have a ton of ads. Its really disappointing how this site use to hold everything + be free now little by little you're taking away all the benefits the site had. I subscribe to Fakku because I appreciate what the site has been & has done, honesty if I wanted to read the Fakku sub books that badly there are many free sites that upload it later. I wish if you dislikes having unpublished work that bad you would consider making a separate site with all the other old releases.

When exporting your collections / favorites, the removed content will now be in your export.

Oh thank fuuuuuuuck for that <3

*dances*

I'll dearly miss good old Fakku, but this was the most important thing for me ^^

I can't pretend I'm happy with the loss of everything Fakku started out as, and the main stuff that made it such a great site, but ultimately this is Jacob's site and his decision.
It has been a pleasure and a privilege being here, and I'm sorry it all had to end like this, but good luck in your future endevours.

The only thing I was really upset about was not bothering to tell us before wiping out the favourites, which made (I'm sure) a lot of us feel that everything we'd invested in the site was meaningless and we simply weren't valued.

So thanks for being nice~

I would however strongly recommend putting a post or advert about this somewhere obvious (rather than just page 19 of a massive thread) so people get a chance to hear about it.

P.S. Just one ore thing... anyone know how best to go about reading the exported file?

Search for JSON parser and use your favorite one.

I just wanna make sure you all know, mentioning DRM online is pretty pointless.
First of all, Netflix, Crunchyroll, Funimation, Hulu, all have a similar issue. It's in a browser and it doesn't usually run at more than 29.97 FPS. This is easy to record with OBS or any sort of screen capturing software. OBS and Xsplit can be application specific, though(which is easier). Secondly, with Fakku or any digital content online, you can inspect element and save or just screenshot(Print Screen) and cut in Paint. It's not that difficult. There is no such thing as effective DRM, unless it is a game which requires a subscription to play, but even then, there are servers emulated for getting around that, too. (WoW private servers, eAthena back in the day) So this whole DRM thing is pointless, right-click isn't far from "Click to download". So I don't understand why it's mentioned so much. lol

I like this site.

Created an account just to say:

So long, and thanks for all the fish memories.

Maybe I'll check back in after a while to see if this place has reversed this unpopular decision (if it even exists at all)

Good thing we have the rest of the internet!

Is Jacob still active in this post? He said he would be reading all the replies and giving feedback. I haven't seen any replies from him since the first page.

I've seen some good questions and really good responses from the community, but I'm really hoping to see Jacob's input on some of these questions.

well one developer responded saying they implemented something to do with the favourites you once had. even then thats all they commented on. still no words from jacob and i doubt we'll get any response from the bigwig himself for a little while

Saw the writing on the wall a few years ago. Fortunately, E-Hentai is still around, and will likely be going even stronger in the very near future.

This thread is silly and full of baseless assumptions on both sides.

If you have an actual question about anything you can ask me now, I'll be around tonight (unlike Saturday where I got a pizza and fell asleep). I am happy to clear up any misunderstandings

>When will you stop hosting scanlator blogs, as Daiz said you were going to do?
Later this year we'll transition scanlator blogs off of our primary domain, it's something I need to talk about with all the scanlators we host. Like I've always said, the scanlation community continues to be necessary and something I will always support as an individual.

>What do you think about Sayo taking a commission for an X-Eros work and posting it on his blog, which was then removed? Is Sayo working on commission for you, like he does for everyone else?
That was just a mistake, Sayo is a god who has translated more hentai than anyone else over the years. He just didn't realize the chapter was from X-Eros. Working at FAKKU does not mean we force you to stop scanlating on your own time.

>Are the Fakku staff actually employees or is everyone an independent contractor?
All FAKKU staff are full time employees and we offer health insurance to those that are local to our offices. Weird question.

>Why do you present misleading/inaccurate information so often?
I don't, I just have more information than users on 4chan so you assume whatever you want. When we first got the publishing no one actually believed me until we put out our first book.

This is something we plan to do yeah, just have to figure out how to pull it off legally and whether we want to offer individual chapter purchases as well. For now we'll see how the subscriptions go.

AMEX has a strict no adult material policy, we won't ever accept American Express unless they change that policy.

We work directly with the artists and those artists have final say on everything we release. Right now ShindoL wants to promote his Patreon and as someone who has been a fan of his for long time, I have no problem helping him do that that.

The only issue with individual chapters is it would result in customers favoring one artist over another, which would in turn lead to us favoring one artist over another. I don't want to do that, I want you to read everything and possibly learn to like new things. I want to help introduce new artists and not just the same ones you are used to reading (because they are the only ones that get scanlated).

Lots of legal stuff has to happen, removing scanlations is one of many steps to making that possible. My goal by the end of the year is to offer digital editions of our books as part of our subscription.

Now it's okay if that doesn't happen, it's just not ideal. You'll soon see us start releasing books that have already had chapters released as part of the subscription, our new NaPaTa book is an example of that.

We'll need to figure out a way to incentivize people purchasing the digital edition even if chapters are already available. They solve this in Japan by having the artist update the artwork and add new chapters.

Oh actually Daiz is technically a contractor, but that will probably change once I convince him to move to America and start dating American girls

That's fine, do whatever you like.

After talking with our partners in Japan and the artists involved, the goal was to have them removed by the end of the year. We hit that goal. It wouldn't have made much sense to remove them until we had a good amount of content on the site for people to read.

Specifically in reference to individual chapter purchases, I don't want newcomers to get overlooked just because a more popular artist happens to appear in a magazine issue.

Epic #sadpanda meme bro

I've been a sadpanda user for a long long time, always said I have. I don't agree with everything they do, but it's always been a place I visit and respect.

I don't particularly care what you think, I'm here because I've been on 4chan for longer than FAKKU has been online. When I see something being discussed that I am directly involved in I have no problem speaking up.

Even E-Hentai itself blocks sadpanda links. The whole point of sadpanda is that you don't go around discussing it and spoonfeeding people to help them gain access. Which is something a lot of people have forgotten.

>Google search "disgusting tinfoil hat anon + cat"

I answer questions everywhere. Honestly I probably spend too much time answering questions.

You have no idea how delicious my semen is.

I'm going to grab some coffee so I'll be gone for a bit, then I'll see if there are any questions better than "why do you word filter ___ website on your forums".

For real I am just excited about all of this. It's all been a dream come true to work on this stuff. Especially the most recent announcement working with Toshio Maeda, it'll be his first time published in like 15 years. I grew up watching La Blue Girl and he is one of the coolest guys I have ever met. I don't expect to please everyone or even anyone here, but I hope some of you can see past the "hurr durr jew cuck fag" trolls.
