[Locked] FAKKU mobile on the way?

0
what i love about fakku is what you get as soon as you go on this website, a news feed make sure that stays front and center.

maybe you could also have your twitter on there as well.

This is off topic but could you please post a listing of when the site is going to be down so that we are aware and not just get a massive shock.

have direct links to the most current forum discussions and nose bleeds.

have one way of searching but give the user the ability to change what that way is eg. tags, author, search.

P.S. i do agree with some of the other users "i like the idea but i would rather the current issues get resolved before you start new ones." - Waar

Maybe instead of creating a mobile version of the site it would be less complicate to link the mangas to android applications like Mangawhat...

Well, the difference between Android and iOS is this:
Android SDK/NDK:
- Free
- costs a one-time-fee of 35$ to sell things on Android Market
- comes with Android Emulator, which allows emulation of any version between 1.5 and 4.0
iOS SDK:
- Required a MacOSX PC to run CodeBlocks and compile iOS binaries
--- (There is an alternative in Windoze, but it costs 100$ for a liscence, and I can't find it on Torrent trackers/Usenet)
- costs 100$ per year to have items in the AppStore
- it's "illegal" to install iOS Apps that weren't obtained in the AppStore (Android supports this natively, it's an option in the Debugging Tools)
- iOS SDK is not retro-compatible... An App for iOS4 probably won't work on an iPhone3G and vice-versa. (Because of the C/C++ code... Android is in Java, and is retro-compatible and compatible on many different flavors of CPU and devices)

It's not that we don't want to, Apple seems to not want us to...

In that case, it would seem like a good idea to develop an Android app and rather than releasing it on the Market where it would most likely get taken down, release it on Fakku.net since Android allows you to run apps not from the market.

Sorry iOS dudes. . .

I thought that to but I don't understand the code, I just finished decompiling mangawhat to see how hard that would be but now I'm lost. good thing about a mobile site though would be it wouldn't matter what device you were on so you wouldn't have to make multiple apps just maintain the alternate site. but then again I have no idea how hard or easy either option would be. be cool if they changed the main site to when you clicked read online it would come up with all the pages loaded so you can scroll through each page instead of clicking the thumbnail then next a bunch of times. kind of how mangawhat does and manga.gamestotal dot com.

You're considering a mobile Fakku?
Let's see.

This is basically the basic:

1. Being able to read hentai.
2. Posting in forums.

Well, the thing is as long as we can read hentai and post in forums, it should be fine.
You don't have to work on how to include youtube videos on Fakku mobile, no one's gonna do it anyway.
Just a suggestion.

is it here yet ?

The important thing there is the streaming of data on pages.

I think. :D

Features: Forum, manga viewer and video viewer compatible with all smart phones
Big question will be, is it going to be on both android AND iTunes and how will it cost if it's brought out?

If it's by me, it will be Android-only and free. Why? Because it costs 25$ for a lifetime membership as a market developper, whereas the AppStore costs 100$ a year every year ( if you stop paying, your apps are removed from the AppStore ). On a side-note, Apple decided to use Objective-C since it's optimized and in the most cross-platform, wide-spread language, but fucked it up by making it only compilable on a MacOSX-running PC. That means that if you don't have a Mac, you can't make or test iOS apps. Android Applications can be written, compiled and tested on any machine. Heck, I have an Android API 13 compiler on my Nexus One.

Just writing it as a heads-up if people wonder why everything is expensive on AppStore and seems like everything is free on the Google Play Store...

Dear lord, a Fakku android app would be killer!

I started implementing an Android app. Right now it's possible to Login and logout, and I'm working on an RSS parser to have a News feed. Next step after I'm able to have that info, next will be page streaming. I'll probably add the "Download full chapter" feature, but will implement a multi-page dump, rather than passing via the .zip that takes X seconds to allow download...

I also want to manage the users' favorites and forum activity, but that'll be after we have access to our Fakku.
I might have a prototype available Monday or Tuesday. :)

All I want, really, is something that will display on my PSP Internet Browser. :)

Can't wait but will it be a free app or 99c's

The only thing i would ask for in such an app is the ability to browse and read manga and doujinshi from the site. But it would also be sweet to be able to log in and manage favorites and such.

There should be an easy touch-and-slide function for browsing mangas and doujins. And a search by tags function if you will.

I really want to comment, but Fakkueverideyu's little Gif is blowing my mind

We need a panic button!!

nice but one feature that would be nice is a [size=12]slideshow function with varying speeds,[/h] so you don t have to worry about using that pesky left hand any more, it can just relax in its little lounge chair
