Tomoyo's After probably sums up Key's style the best:CryWank. That being said,Tomoyo's After story beats out Nagisa's after IMHO. BTW the last H scene is NICE to say the least but that leads you to another bad ending where Tomoyo becomes delusional and a sex fiend on top of that (Not that I'm complaining.)Raze is right about F/N is better than Clannad though, both in story and H scenes. However I haven't played Fate/Hollow ataraxia yet  Supposedly the H scene is better cause of Sakura and Rider   The CG from f/h is just awesome though.Whoa... so the part where Tomoyo becomes a sex maniac... I thought that was a rumor at first but now its all true...
Is it really that bad though? Tomoyo is like one of my fav girls out of clannad (Kyou second though)
Hav u got the screenshot of it if you hav it?

Show me that paragraph or set of paragraphs in this web page's rules that specifically state somewhere along the lines of, "You do not have the right to a 180-degrees, alternate opinion on something that's a favorite to nearly everybody." Then I will gladly silence myself and mind my own business.Oh, don't get me wrong here. I'm not saying you're not entitled to your own opinion, but your initial post just gave me the feeling you weren't savoring the series in the right way. I apologize if I sounded derogatory in my first reply.
Well, I'll also say this. It would be difficult not to brand you a troll if you suddenly come along and scream "CLANNAD IS PURE GARBAGE", giving the tribulations of Sunohara as your only reason (which is only a small part of what Clannad is). And, I hope, and think, most of us don't randomly go around shouting "ANPAN!" all of a sudden. >_>
About visual novels, I used to think they were a giant waste of time. I still think most of them are a giant waste of time, but I've grown to like playing (or rather, reading) some of the more popular titles. And occasionally, as in the case of FSN, playing the visual novel is truly a rewarding experience. Clannad, so far, has not disappointed me (too much at least. I did feel they had far too much Sunohara in the beginning days though). I can, however, see the day when I'll find every single one of them a giant waste of time, and instead opt for the CGs (although I'd probably have killed off my already dwindling devotion to eroge/anime/manga by then).

ya, there is some people working on it...they say they'll release it when they are done, no dates or anything there alike...can't complain since someone is working on a patch at least...here is their site...

they're working on the CLANNAD translation, not Tomoyo After translation.
They are doin Tomoyo After, but they only just started doing it. Along with Fate Stay/Night. Yay!

There are some people who seem to think ANIME SERIOUS BUSINESS. No, no, no... anime is the wrong medium (other the occasional Miyazaki film) if you want something other than fun.

well..everyone have their own opinion on something but i do agree that blaming Sunohara for not enjoying the visual novel is a little unacceptable..for me, Clannad is one of the best anime/visual novels read before, behind FSN and Tsukihime..it is not a story which is going to keep you hooked..it's just that the story just wraps up around you making you have to finish it and the story is beutiful..
very true, Key have the specialty of making people cry..talk about AIR..that was almost KO'd me of my seat with the ending but forget about that..
the main point is, it's not sensible to barge in a Clannad related discussion and shout out that it's garbage..
and what's said earlier is true..you dug a very very deep grave for yourself...but, you can still get out of it without losing anything..

I guess so. Must be a real pain translating a VN.
Well Anime isnt much a of business yes, but you still make money out of it, unless its sucessful. I think its too much effort making a manga, i prefer illustrating.

And as I said before; you'd have to put a bullet into my head before you can make that remark. Besides; people on the outside would make the wrong assumption about this show if everybody and their pet dog talked about how awesome it is.
There are probably 10-20 anime titles per season that feature men getting their rears handed to them (by women) with no chance of fighting back; with shows from companies like Kyoto Anime being hailed as "works of God." I can gain no pleasure from shows like these because of this; my eternal argument is that these shows are being held down in terms of creativity because of this.
My problem with Japan's anime industry as a whole: Incredible ideas that were done horribly wrong. And every comment about how deep something like Clannad is (and, in this case, Haruhi) reminds me of the "anime fandom Red Sea" that had been split over Evangelion and how deep that was suppose to be. (I thought Hideaki Anno needed to stay away from making anime, PERIOD. Especially after the crapstorm that happened behind "His And Her Circumstances.")
So yeah. I went into a Clannad forum and called it Garbage. If it didn't feature Youhei being a douchebag and Tomoyo (and Kyou) nearly killing him for the sake of laughter from the audience, I wouldn't have done that. Things won't change and people won't care. But saying nothing against it is the worst thing I could do.

Its all about culture, people think different from different countries even if they watch the same anime. Because there are elements that are usually based on real life from Japan that are normal and common to them, unlike western, its more of a influence and intrests.
Japanese sense of humor is different from the west.
If you dont like some animes, dont bother complaining. Just dont think or talk about it and just move on to something different. Its a waste of time complaining, it aint goin to change anything. There are plenty of new/other anime coming out and might or not be as the previous.

Personally I didn't really dig Clannad too much either. I know it's the same animation and game studio, but it simply bore FAR too many similarities to Kanon, so much that it got kinda ridiculous to me. Plus the lead in Clannad wasn't nearly as funny and witty as Yuuichi from Kanon, and instead became more a more emo version, which didn't appeal to me at all. Kanon to me just did a much better job overall, the funny parts were funnier to me, and the sad parts were sadder. If you're going to completely repeat yourself with a new series and make it a carbon copy of one you did in the past, you should at least make it better in my opinion.
ALSO:
I disagree completely, but here is not the place. Yeah, lots of anime is simply male fantasy fulfillment, but not all of it. And I don't want to write a giant wall of text the basically ends up with saying you're ignorant and uniformed, so I'll just simply say that.

Anime, in its truest form, is a story. And stories age all the way from the ancient times when it came from word of mouth to the age of today where it comes in all shapes and forms.
It's not too different from today's mainstream media. Whether it be for laughs in comedy, for tears and pulled emotions in drama, the feel of overcoming that latest obstacle and winning the good fight in adventure/action, some mind wrapping suspense thrill, or other elements that branch off from the main branch of entertainment. It is neither defined by one thing exclusive and is as varied as mainstream entertainment of today can be.
Text blocked so that no one else would have to... Bah-me-old-day. :?:

Sorry to disappoint you but the sex fiend part is text only, no cg. Not only does Tomoyo goes bad so does Tomoya (and that's without the coma). So I would classify that as a bad end. I would post the images but it's been a while since I played it though and screenshot all cg are a pain in the ass. There might be some generous soul out there that's willing to put in the time but yeah...
BTW that screen shot of Tomoyo's bear disguise and Tomoyo is just wrong man.Whenever I see that bear I just think of poor Tomo...

I didn't say it all was, but neither could you say the same for ANY art form. I don't know if you've been to the book store, sat in front of a TV during prime time, turned on the radio, or been to a movie theatre lately, but the vast majority of the entertainment available in those venues is also hardly considered fine art.
In other words, your point is useless because you're singling out anime, when in reality your point could be applied to just about any art form at the moment.

blahblahblah the vast majority of entertainment sucks blahblahblah there's no fine art blahblahblahI'm singling out anime, because, let's face it, if your medium has "harem" and "magical girl" as highly viable genres, if the vast majority of the characters your medium produces are immature wankers still in high school, if most of the dialogue in almost everyone of your medium's shows consists of completely inane conversation akin to talking about the weather, you just have to stop and think for it second.
Let's take the current season now as an example. Think of a show that you can take seriously and is executed well. I can think of one, Kurenai, and it already ended. So let's try some of the popular ones. Macross Frontier? The latest episode had a girl pop out of the sky on a jet and start singing J-pop to quell a rebellion of space giants. Right. Code Geass R2? I'm not sure if I can make a better, more hilarious argument for Sunrise's bad writing than the ones found on Jason Miao's blog (http://derailedbydarry.com/). And these aren't even the worst of the season, they're the better ones. Screw fine art at this point, I just want something with decently thought out writing.
And I don't hate MF or CGR2. They're a fine form of entertainment, and they entertain in a way only anime can. Even if they have terrible writing, and thus my original argument on the "seriousness" of anime.
