Time for change! (and a release!)

FAKKU Old Guard
As our wise new American leader has been quoted saying, "It's time for a change." And us here at FAKKU-Subs agree with that sentiment. I'll get to that in a minute, though. First I'd like you all to take a gander at the newest part of the FAKKU-Subs family, 120% DRILL by Hyocoru. Ershin was kind enough to provide me with a translation, so I figured I may as well give you guys something fap-worthy.

Ah yes... changes. I think you all should know by now that for the last year and some change, we have been adamant about watermarking our releases. For good reason, too. There are people out there that will rip off other people's work and claim it as their own. To be honest, that was something we didn't want to happen. But since we've started, we've come to realize that it's really not that big of a deal. No matter what, there's always going to be the biters out there; there's not much we can do about it. Our goal is to provide you with fap-material that's the least intrusive to you and we believe that removing our watermarks is the best way to accomplish that. We hope that you are understanding in this and that by now you can recognize the quality of work we put out to realize when our hard work has been ripped off.
To summarize, from now on we will not be watermarking our releases.
Anyway, thanks to Ershin for translating this! It's a real gem and definitely one of the better Gurren Lagann doujinshi out there. Be sure to leave your love in the thread as always, by clicking the images above. Hope you all enjoy!

Are you sure you want to stop? I for one like the watermark as I tend to rename the Fakku away, but still like knowing I got it from such a good location.

Our goal is to provide you with fap-material that's the least intrusive to you.my respects to your values translation crew but i honestly believe you deserve the credit. i know exactly what you mean to achieve with this change and the statement that goes along with it but i guess i wanna state my case.
a small watermark on the corner of the page isnt intrusive in the slightest; its a small symbol of your effort to satisfy your goal and the fakku community. we're proud to have such a symbol brandished on works we view and download because we know that modest translators worked diligently on these 53+ translations, all for the sake of fakku... ok, maybe a bit for themselves, too. but i would prefer them watermarked in the future because im proud of what a community ive contributed to has accomplished.
im sure this kind of positive publicity will be lucrative for the site in the future. with every fakku release viewed the popularity of the site will increase and the advertisement opportunities are sure to grow with it. i see nothing positive from removing the watermarks besides making a bold statement that can be simply defused by assholes that mean to take your rightful credit away from you.
we know what and who your doing it for. do us one more by watermarking your works with a name were proud to support and recognize. fucking wicked release btw, i always regarded this as the best drawn gurren lagann manga... now if only it were longer.

I agree with Kirby, I really don't mind the watermarks and actually kind of like it because it states all the hard work and originality that you guys at fakku put into it. Yeah so there will still be people to just leech off your work even if you did put watermarks, but hey just make them work for it lol. Besides we who are a part of the fakku community will know the real people who deserve the credit anyways.
Edit: Oh yeah and thanks for the release your hard work never goes unnoticed.

To be perfectly honest, aside from the introduction page(s) with translator notes and stuff (which I actually like having in the folder with the rest of the doujin), I've never even noticed the Fakku watermarks.
Even so, like some of the others have said, I think it's something to be proud of to be able to trace back such quality work to you guys. It adds a bit of character and personality that is curiously absent from other independent translation groups, especially since it comes from such a quality site as this.
It's wonderful and noble that you wish to make this change for the greater enjoyment of the fan community at the possible expense of recognition and security, however, I say fuck it. For your hard work and dedication to us, you people more than deserve to have your seal on the fruits of your labor.
Just my $0.02

By the way, I just went back to some of the older Fakku Translations and looked for the watermarks you speak of. As it is, they're very low-key, subdued, and even perfectly-sized and placed. Hell, they're even transparent. Not at all intrusive, like you say. I'm sure all of us here have seen much worse.

Those were such delicious watermarks, though. At least I knew that I was fapping to quality works when I saw the watermark not overlaying an otherwise possibly pleasant view.
Not that anyone would give a damn about, but I do not approve of this change!

I really wonder who and how many of us had ever complained about those watermarks. They have never disturbed me. I strongly believe that FAKKU! releases DESERVE!! to bear this sign of quality. You shouldn't have gone and leave out the watermarks but put up a poll to see if really that many people find it intrusing.
And I agree with Zathael. You should be too busy with reading than having the time to realize the watermarks. Since it's not covering any important parts like censor stripes.
And last but not least: Thanks for the release!

I got so focused on the watermark thing that I completely forgot about the new release. Awesome work, as always!

I've never noticed any watermarks, so feel free to keep them for all I care. Maybe a poll would be in order?

I agree, I think we should have a poll to see what the community says about the water markings. I personally enjoy them, and don't think they're intrusive in the slightest. You deserve to put you mark on the work that you translate.

Honestly, I didn't even know you guys watermarked, so I don't think you should stop. I reckon you guys deserve all the credit for what you do, not some random who only had to click 5 times and gets the same credit.
As for the new release, awesome :D
