It really is disappointing that after all this time there's still no official answer. Transparency would have helped even if the news was not good - silence can only lead to people assuming that the responsible parties aren't really doing anything about it.

Indeed. It's really disappointing that there is still no new post from Jacob about it.I expected better.

Unfortunately we are still waiting on an update from the publisher, I'll reach out to them again today and find out what the delay is.

HAHAHAHAHAH

For real now? I don't know if the correct thing to do is feel bad for you or laugh at you.

C'mon seriously? At least put some pressure on them, Sekai Project is know for taking years to fix their buggy ass releases, they just don't give a fuck

If they continue to avoid giving answers I suggest cutting doing business with them, there's no need to damage your own reputation over someone's 3rd rate scam tactics.

"Let's pretend nothing happened until 'whiners' move on while we continue to cash grab new releases because they don't have strong media presence to loudly oppose us." tactic?

They're basically abusing fact that gaming subreddits hate anime games so it's really hard to gain traction there while everywhere else you can complain about them are platforms where they can block you or are moderators.

I can't believe "Scam Project" will get away with it... their incompetence knows no bounds.

In an effort of transparency and to keep you guys updated, the publisher is waiting to hear back from the original Japanese developer on some aspects of the fixes. We understand that this delay can be annoying but hope you guys will understand and continue to wait patiently for the update and statement. Things are happening, we just can't say anything yet until everything is 100% good for every party involved. Again, we deeply apologize for the delay and thank you for your understanding and patience.

At this point, what can SP do that the fan-patch doesn't already do besides fixing the half-translated and unvoiced lines?

I may sound like an idiot but...Why does SP wait for a hear back ? Eveything we ask for (restore 18+ content, repair broken and untranslated lines) can be fixed without needing to ask the japanese developer because it's bugs and not new features, or do I ignore some things ?

Regaining peoples trust and respect.

Oh wait. No. Not that anymore anyway.

The fact that NO ONE at the Sekai panel asked about Maitetsu makes me want to scream. WHAT WERE Y'ALL DOIN!?
I would have in a second, but then again I wasn't going to buy a plane ticket to and go to AX just to do that so....

This is just what Sekai does unfortunately. Which is why I died internally when I first saw them pick up Maitetsu...,.

I'd like to be a fly on the wall because that'll be one fun discussion. Will Sekai even mention the actual issues with the current release or simply try to talk their way around the whole thing? I have not much hope anyone from Lose reads any of these threads or relevant twitter feeds so I wouldn't put it past them to try that...

Something I've been wondering for a while, what exactly is the relation between Fakku and Sekai in regard to Maitetsu? As Sekai is named the publisher and is also listed for the Steam release, why is the +18 version exclusively on Fakku and not Denpa? Has Fakku a larger stake in this title or do they simply act as a storefront? Was this too controversial of a title for Sekai to put even on Denpa and they chose Fakku instead?

Thanks for that, and please keep doing it. I don't think anyone here wants to believe like you don't care, but when an update is promised for after Sunday and doesn't come till Friday, it is hard not to.

On another note, why do you have to deal with Sekai Project at all? Wouldn't it be better to deal with lose directly, similar to how you do for magazine releases with the Japanese publisher?

Because it's SP who got rights to publish Maitetsu in west, Fakku just act as storefront that won't remove game after few months because someone got SJW trigger coughVolvocough.

Unfortunate part of this is that Fakku gets caught in usual SP shitstorm.

Fortunate part of this is that we have independent platform to complain and someone that can put some pressure on SP.

I'd still love for Sayori to see how they threat other devs' releases and ditch them.

Any time a company does something that doesn't seem to make much sense on the surface, chances are the answer is "lawyers". In this particular case, it seems likely that the licensing contract between Sekai Project and Lose (the japanese developer) puts tight restrictions on precisely what changes SP can and can't make to the game. Anything outside those restrictions has to be done by Lose itself, which slows the whole process down greatly (because Lose has other things to do, like work on their next game). As for why some Japanese developers demand these restrictions, it probably varies from company to company. The situation now is likely that SP can point the finger at Lose for any fix, Lose has better things to do than fix SP's mistake, and Fakku is left holding the bag.

I'm going to say this, but Sekai is honestly just being ridiculous here, You don't really need to ask the developer if You can make fixes to their game. I feel more like they're just outright stalling for time, plus people have said they got the pure station version of the game but if that was the case the content would already be cut and it wouldn't be this buggy or censored. I use censored here when referring to the removed voice lines, and untranslated dialogue/text.

I'm pretty sure SP is more concerned with working on the next title on their very long "To-do" list than fixing what they've already released. They might even be under the assumption that talented fans will fix most of the problems themselves, saving them time and energy. I guess they're not wrong in that regard.
