[Locked] Maitetsu patch does not replace all-age cgs

So I just want to check, if I were to get Fakku's R-18 version of Maitetsu instead of a patch for the Steam one, is that basically the same deal or the Fakku one is uncut uncensored?

They both give you the hentai scenes. Both retain mosaics though, but yes, they are the same. There's a separate fan patch for each which fixes issues with the +18 version (read earlier in this thread. It's still a work in progress(CG/emote fixed, missing lines/translation/voice issues worked on). A few people associated with the fan patch are also working on a demosaic patch for Maitetsu.

So it's not quite 'uncut and uncensored' as such, but with the fan patch it's already pretty complete.

And all of us are waiting on an official fix, Soonâ„¢...

Huh, that doesn't seem good.

The Chinese version of Monobeno that's on Steam can supposedly be played in Japanese, so in a sense it is a PC version of the all-ages version; though given that you can buy Monobeno and then Happy End separately as a DLC, I'm guessing it's not exactly the same version as the Vita Pure Smile.

Anyway, still checking this thread every day for an announcement that the Maitetsu patch has been fixed. Come on Fakku, I want to give you my money, so please allow me to do so.

Lol, oops. Went by the VNDB section for Monobeno Happy End, didn't think to check the original (legit thought happy end was it's own thing without a patch being a remake) or the Chinese section. AFAIK, the steam release for Monobeno Happy End does have the Vita scenarios (from VNDB page and steam reviews). Checked Maitetsu's page and as it turns out, the Chinese company's doing their own port of Pure Station on steam... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Somebody also helpfully added it to the Japanese section yesterday.

Going to echo your thoughts. Definitely still checking everyday for an update. Not going to buy until it's been fixed, and I'd even planned on making my first Fakku subscription for the 10% off and to show my support.

So technically aside from some lines and a few H scenes, Theres absolutely no difference between the original JP H ver of Maitetsu and the ones we get from Fakku and steam

Localized H Maitetsu just crippled version of japanese H version of the game, but yeah, technically aside raw food almost like baked one, only tastes a little bit different. In current state without fan patch you get all ages version (replaced CG, sprites, butchered dialogs) + omake H scenes with minecraft censorship.

P.S.
Thank you, Heliosaurus, you made Maitetsu great again.

It's now been almost 2 weeks since we heard from Jacob or another FAKKU employee, and something rather interesting happened since:

Sorry for the radio silence, we're waiting to get the final details after we meet with the publish in Japan next week (one final time). After that we'll make a public statement about the situation.

That sounds a bit worrying. But either way it's good to have clarity at least. Thank you.

This may sound rude, but here goes:

When selling something, it would be courteous to mention any current issues with the product. If you want to come across as a "trustworthy" VN distributor, one shouldn't have to scroll through comments before hitting the purchase button. I bought the game nearly a month after release ~ Surely by this point a disclaimer BEFORE PURCHASING THE GAME that reads something like "Oh bee tee dubs, This says 18+ version but jk, the company sent us the wrong version, parts are messed up, if you want the 18+, please wait" -_- . . .

Love the manga side of things ~ Let's leave it at the VN side of Fakku has started on the wrong foot for me personally (which I understand is just bad luck), but with how it was managed, makes me want to stay with sites I trust for VN like Mangagamer (sorry). It's not enough to turn me off completely, and I do understand that this probably isn't common, but definitely throwing up a warning before hitting "buy" is something to think about in the future.

its not fakkus fault tho, sekai project was in charge of translating the visual novel into english theyre the ones who screwed up the game, originally i believe the adult version was supposed to be distributed by denpasoft (sekai projects adult devision) but for some reason sold the distribution rights to fakku so they can distribute it on their platform. in the end the fault lies on sekai project and fakku was just roped in on this when they have not done anything wrong.

I'm not blaming Fakku for the publisher's screw up ~ What I am bemoaning is that despite being aware of the issue (for more than a month I might add), their is still no immediately noticeable mention through the purchasing process that the 18+ version of the game you think you are buying has been screwed up by the publisher, and that an ETA to remedy this situation is unclear at best. For that, I can, and should fault Fakku. I am in no immediate rush, so I am not demanding a refund nor am I really upset, but in the future (as well as for Maitetsu itself) this is something the site should consider adding due to the fact that as it stands, it is essentially false advertising. And I do realize that below in the comments this is pointed out, but if one is skeptical of a product and turns to the comments to determine if the site is selling what it claims to be selling, then one cannot call that a "trustworthy site". At no point from when I clicked "purchase", to filling out and confirming my payment info, was their a notification that the product had issues.

I want to be clear, I am not blaming Fakku, but I am making what I consider to be valid and necessary feedback. I think it is more than fair to hold a distributor accountable with notifying consumers when a product has a known issue before purchase.

if you look at the reviews Jacob puts a comment stating that the game is missing content and even links to this forum to await any new updates i think that should warn users enough considering its not far down the page and very noticeable considering he has the checkmark beside his name showing that hes a fakku team member

I didn't see it. As I had stated earlier, I would assume that if their was an issue with a product, the company would set in place a way to guarantee one is aware of said issue before purchase. I saw no reason to suspect otherwise, as typically this is what one would expect as standard of a site when making a purchase of a product with known issues. There was, and still isn't, anything in the product description itself to imply their is an issue as well.

I think that some type of message that appears before purchase notifying the consumer of the issue, and having the consumer acknowledge they are aware of said issue before purchase, is "reasonable feedback". I doubt I am the only one who bought the game before realizing their was an issue, so I see no reason why I shouldn't provide a suggestion for future instances like this one should they occur. I have been a patron of Fakku for 3 years now, and would like to see it succeed in the Visual Novel industry, I see nothing wrong with providing what I consider warranted and valid feedback. However, if you think that a comment is sufficient, then we will simply just have to agree to disagree (for all I know, I am the only person who clicked purchase before looking through the comments).

I agree with that, yea. Yes Jacob did post a warning in the comments, which is great, but making it more visible with a change in the store page itself would definitely have been better. Especially after such a long time, when it became quickly obvious that no quick fix was happening.

Yeah, I just bought this. I remember reading the comments about it being broken, but I figured "surely a few weeks...it should be fixed by now". I thought it was fixed until I saw this thread. Well, I'll just keep it and hope Sekai Project gets it together (I've also been burned by them...Yo Sekai? Remember the Narcissu KS? It's been years...)

We'll have an update really soon everyone, we were able to get a lot of the problems fixed. I'll make a new thread sometime over the next 2 days with details.

a lot of the problems fixed...

which means that not all the problems were fixed??
not that I'm surprised.

Why does every single VN that I look forward to playing end up being a dumpster fire of a release?

What a terrible hobby I've picked... 😓
