How come those bugs occured in the localised version while it didn’t in the original game?

The tl;dr is inserting English text can have a bunch of unforeseen consequences, because the game was not originally developed with that in mind. A lot of work has to be done on the tech-side of things to get text to insert properly, and even when you think it might be working correctly, you might get instances like that screenshot I posted (we know exactly what caused that, though). Beta testing is a lot about trial and error, especially for a game like Abaddon.

Appreciated! I feel like I have a lot more to share besides "we're still translating it" now at least, lol. Many of the big bugs have been addressed over the past few days, so the game's in a very playable state now. There is a little bit of translation work we still need to do, but that'll be concurrent with beta testing and shouldn't cause many (if any at all) issues once the text's ready for insertion.

Just an English release is all that's planned for the moment.

Looking like we'll probably begin full beta testing by next week, if not sooner. Most of the major issues have been fixed at this point.

The game page here now has a message by CafeDX stating that the current release window is Summer 2021 and that they are aiming for a June release.

Sorry pal, but the BL is top quality and needs to stay. 😁😁😁

Also, the BL is going to sell the game like hotcakes due to it being the most unique blend in the market for this target audience.

Is there any chance we get a written guide for unlocking CG scenes? I played the japanese version for weeks and even with a fand made guide i'm far from having unlocked everything...

I'm really liking how the words are being packed in such small space, it's one of the challenges of localizing a game in japanese, to fit our much bigger words in a small space and at same time in a way people can understad what it means!!!

We have an in-progress guide that we're working on for beta testing that we might be able to repurpose once the game's released because yeah, I agree it's a very tough game to unlock everything.

Thank you very much! It's been a bit of a process trying to figure everything out with the text limitations. One cool thing is I think it lends itself well to the retro aesthetic. Also the item descriptions will help clarify things if something seems ambiguous.

You're doing a great job in the localization. It's a joy to see the project advance.

We will absolutely need the guide because it is very likely to get stuck in the game or miss side content. Some years ago, there was a thread in another forum about this game with continuous questions and answers by one guy who had finished it.
