[Sakuraprin] Abaddon: Princess of the Decay

Hello everyone.

Many of you are certainly wondering about the current state of Abaddon and, more importantly, where is it? Well, to start, we'd like to announce its delay. The new release date will be in October. We're deeply sorry that the game has once again been delayed, and completely understand everyone's already been very patient, but several factors weighed into this decision.

While we've been actively beta testing the release since March this year, numerous, significant issues have popped up along the way that required more work than initially believed. The game is not in a releasable state at the moment, and given we are a small team with only a few active testers, it's been difficult to juggle beta testing such a massive game with our other responsibilities as the Fakku Games team. The tl;dr of our time spent beta testing is: RPGMaker XP (and Abaddon in particular) does not play nicely with our localization.

However, we are planning several additional, exciting things related to Abaddon that are currently in production to celebrate its upcoming release in a few months! One of those is a planned simul-release of Abaddon on Steam. We'll have more details to share about that and all the other stuff hopefully in the next month or so.

Besides that, we also have a couple other announcements and releases planned for this year. This has been by far our busiest year internally since Fakku Games began, and we really can't wait to share the exciting things we have in store with everyone.

Once again, we deeply apologize for the delay, but we really want to do this game justice, as it is unlike anything else we've worked on, or really anything else that's been localized in the west before. The decision to delay the release was not an easy one, but it is the correct one for us at this time.

We understand!! It's OK!! That's exactly the issue that has put off other translators who have attempted to tackle this project in the past.

We are happy to have an update. It's great to see the advances. It gives us hope.

And the Steam release is a great piece of news! I already bought it here, but I hope it boosts the sales greatly and gives the game a bigger scope of players!

We will be looking forward to future updates!

In other news, a manga serialization for Abaddon: Princess of the Decay has just been announced. The series will run bimonthly in the Angel Club magazine. I believe this entails that all the BL content is sadly out the window.

Art not by original artist Nekoe, but by the artist Saida Kazuaki instead. First issue coming on August 30th.

It's a good news to have the Steam version, might be released by Kagura Games so there could also be CN translations. Since I have pre-ordered here, hope we could get Activation Code for the Steam version.

Unfortunately Steam codes probably won't be provided for existing pre-orders, as the tentative Steam release was a fairly recent decision we made. We're also planning on releasing Abaddon on Steam ourselves.

It seems I stand corrected. Sakuraprin has confirmed that the manga serialization does include BL scenes. I believe that this will represent a first for Saida Kazuaki, since I cannot find any previous BL content by this author.

As this product now includes me in the target demographic, I intend to support the manga serialization (Fakku, please look into licensing it 🙏🙏🙏).

There seems to have been a misunderstanding and Sakuraprin has apologized and stated that, indeed, there will be no BL content in the manga serialization.

I believe that it makes sense to a certain extent, since the point of the product is to reach wider audiences. All the fans of the BL content by Sakuraprin have left in the dust, though. I hope that once the new wave of popularity reaches the author, they release some new BL content in some form.

It's definitely on our radar, and it's a great fit for Fakku obviously.
