Will the ability to save anywhere be removed or turned off by default in a future update? The existence of the save diaries doesn't even make sense if you can do this, it seems pretty clear it was there for testing and wasn't removed.

Aww man, I was almost at the end and I had to give up or lose everything.
F me, clearing this game on first try is nigh impossible. I suppose getting back to where I was won't take long now that I know the trigger for all the events, but it's still a pain. Should've checked some guides first, I guess.
I kind of like the mood and puzzle solving of the game, but the random encounters are out of the ass and escaping all the encounters with phobias is like the core strat of the game instead of facing them, focusing on non-phobia enemies to use the free-fear clear of level ups. Avoiding the shadows help an amount, but it's still ridiculous IMO.
A decent game none the less, and one I supported out of the steam ban spite. I'll try to get through it with the added knowledge I have now, but if I still can't get through it maybe I'll have to stop altogether.

soo I've been playing the demo for like 30mins and is this a hentai game or what? I see nudity scenes on store page and its banned on steam, but really not feeling like continuing the demo, but curious as to the hype of this game is..seemed so dull and boring.

It's not a run of the mill hentai game, that's for sure. The demo is just the prologue, which sets up the story.

This was indeed a feature we used for testing that wasn't fully removed. As a fun fact, we also had features that included the ability to disable random encounters and create saves that enabled us to jump to nearly any point in the game.
Anyway, we'll make sure this is completely disabled in our upcoming 1.0.2 release.

However, it's relatively short and gives you a good idea of what to expect in terms of its puzzle and adventure elements. The full game is filled with h-scenes, and contains over 170 unique CGs.

Soooo... am I crazy, or is the final boss of the true route literally impossible to beat? It just spams attack after attack until my party is dead, and I never get a chance to act.
EDIT: To be clear, I'm talking about the route where you open the jewel box and go through the dungeon with the Gold Key. After the Professor tries to do the thing and Spoiler-chan does her speech for several rounds of combat, she transforms... and just attacks endlessly. The game just keeps skipping my turn until I'm dead.
EDIT 2: Latest update fixed it, can now recommend game wholeheartedly! Cheers!

Copy the Save folder located in your old Abaddon game folder and paste it in this new game folder to transfer your save files and progress. Replace any files if prompted.

The trial is relatively short (it's equivalent to Yamanobe's prologue in Abaddon in length), but they hope to finish the game sometime this year or early next. It has several QoL improvements including an in-game map and text backlog, which is really nice. Some entirely new characters show up too. And yeah, it's all-ages.
Personally I know all the staff who worked on Abaddon's localization would love to work on Gakuen Abaddon, but we don't have anything to announce.

The lack of hentai material can also help them to be sold in wider platforms, like Steam, so it's not a too bad thing.

Agreed. I did find a guide someone linked in a thread on Itch, but it seems to be both incomplete in some areas and outright wrong in others.
Though if you need a basic walkthrough, it's decent enough.
But, in page 6 of this thread, someone from the team who worked on the game mentioned they had a guide to get to the various events and test them faster, and also said they wanted to repurpose it to help players. Could someone from that team give any word/update on that ?
