9/11 Stories

Another year and look, it's 9/11, the day of one of the most unfortunate events in American history. I don't really wanna make this topic depressing or anything, but I thought it would be interesting to share some stories of any escapades that you might have gone through on this day. It doesn't really matter if the "event" actually happened on this day nine years ago, but it would be nice ;D

My mom woke me up saying some bomb new york... i thought please be Yankees stadium while their taking BP... back to the story. I had classes but my brother didn't want to leave the house, so i stay home, then i got called up by my MSGT( master sergeant)
I was still in the national guard then, so i had to leave my bro at my then girlfriends house and go to air guard armory in Fresno... long story short i was guarding the international side of San Francisco airport and supervising the MP's from Oakland army depot there.

It was Tuesday morning and I was 11 years old and in 6th grade my mom woke me up and told me to come into the living room because something horrible had happened I quickly went to the living room and saw the world trade center up in flames on the television, I was told a plane crashed through the building and I was like wow! that's pretty bad but back then I had no idea how bad the situation really was there. I went to school and they announced it on the morning announcements. Now here's the weird part, I live in Canada and it felt as though we were all Americans I heard years later that the whole world pretty much shut down that day that was kinda true since the whole world knew about it when it happen because word of the tragedy spread like wildfire.

I was in my class when we heard about the first plane and tower.
Was watching the live action of it when we saw the second plane fly into it.
Which is also when we knew it hadn't been an accident for sure.

I'll show my age in this story. I was 16 (a few days from 17) and was eating some cereal when I was watching it all unfold. The first tower had just been hit and I saw the second one crash in real time. It's hard to believe this was 9 years ago. I am sick of how every year they have these gigantic analysis programs all day and replay the footage not-stop.

Woke up, went to school, went back home, watched some TV, went to bed. Found out about 9/11 like two weeks later.

My day started the same way. Then we watched the news report on Tv while I ate breakfast. I remember at first being like "wow thats bad. Firefighters better get to it."
Then in real time I saw the second plane crash into the other tower.
At first I was like "No way is this real..." so I tried to change the channel. But by then it was on every channel so I couldn't stop watching it. It was pretty traumatizing watching people jump to their deaths on live Tv. I remember a reporter on Tv slowly walking away from the tower while reporting the news. People were telling everyone to back away in case debris fall down. Then in the distance you saw the Towers fall, and the stunned reporter was suddenly being pushed by a stampede of people running for their lives. It was surreal to see a Tv shot on live news get completely covered in dust and debris to the point you weren't sure if the reporter was alive. The shot left back to the newsroom who you knew must of cut the shot because the reporter might of been dead.
The final blow came when they said another plane just crashed into the pentagon, and there is one more plane still in the sky, maybe after the White house. Moments later we heard it had been destroyed in a field.
It happened so fast I remember I didn't even have a chance to finish my cereal. Then my dad said we weren't going to school anymore, not because it was canceled but because he didn't want me to leave. I thought, "Holy cow, my dad is scared I might get hurt on the way to school? Seriousness just happened."

There was a mysterious, unregistered plane flying above the White House, that caused its evacuation alarm, but it was never said that it's been destroyed.

There were four planes altogether. 2 hit the WTC, 1 hit the pentagon, 1 crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. The last one to go down was the Pennsylvania field crash - before it crashed though, the news reported about it being in the sky and by the time it had crashed they reported in was on a flight path to Washington DC.
The only reason it crashed was because passengers got phone calls from family who told them that 3 other planes had been hijacked and crashed into buildings. They tried to fight for control of the plane, but the result was as stated.
