but I treat vanguard as a mini heart early game

Since PMS has been born,vanguard is useless since PMS blocks 100% damage 20 hero damage and 60% to block 20 non hero damage(for melee anyway,for ranged dual gauntlets are better).

Not to mention its freaking cheap and easy to make.

It sucks because its too expensive for its purpose so much so it will have you farming for vitality and ring which eats into your late game item farming time.

can't argue with PMS... but then again it's full usefulness is with agi heroes...

though vanguard is expensive It dose hold it's usefulness longer that PMS... midgame PMS is partially useless since the 20 damage block is overrun by Attack speed and skills. Vanguard is still usefull mid and will help you live thru a beating and chases....

lol axe with 2 stouts shield can last longer than an axe with vanguard in a long run since the same axe can already start farming for blink or hearth much earlier.

People mainly buy vanguard for the life increase it gives and the regen,which can be easily supplemented with switching threads to str.Not saying buying vanguard is bad,just that it needs price reduction to be relevant.

or change the items needed... say RoR instead of RoH and maybe make it so that PMS can be upgraded to Vanguard... Just wishing though... Until 6.89 comes out no sure things a gonan happen...

lol thats a pretty long ways off.I do hope the system gets a massive overhaul in a way that it doesnt rely totally on items to be gay.

Lol, pms is just a =n upgraded stout shield, round midgame I sell that for better equips. But Vguard has hp and regen bonus too. Which is good for paper heroes.

meh paper heroes will die on their way to a vanguard which slows down building a vanguard.Paper heroes can find salvation in items that give burst regen.

Not saying that its bad.Just not a core item.If you have spare cash,why not.

Meh, if vanguard building slows them down, they suck at farming.
