I'll talk about the Galil, the Israeli AK 'imitation', different variants were made including the AR, ARM(features a carry handle) and SAR(carbine) as well as a sniper rifle version reconfigured to fire 7.62x51 NATO rounds, quite a brilliant piece of work and uses the same basic mechanism as an AK. also was watching the news about China's first aircraft carrier at dinner

Oh, Galatz. In lieu of that PLN carrier, they're having some disputes over the Spratly Islands between China and my nation.

Besides the Galil, I find the new Croatian VHS to be fascinating.

looks like a FA MAS or a Norinco Type 36(specifically the barrel) but i'll applaud that they're making their own weapons

agreed, the SA80 series were quite heavy but they were pretty good bullpup rifles though.

I'd rather have the K11 or the XM28 and distribute it to 8-man fireteams. And looks like South Korea's fielding them ASAP. And the XM28 too.

the ICWs (Indivdual Combat Weapon) were quite disappointing. the HK G11 is that rifle that uses special shell-less rounds right? the design is quite out there. XM28s were test-fired by Navy S.E.A.L.S weren't they? the things basically a HK G36 with a different shell. I like the G36C actually, i'd make them standard in my squad for the specialists

if I had an 8-man fire team, i'd have 2 specialists(G36C), 3 riflemen (HK416 w/ 3GL/MAULs), 2 Gunners (M249 SAW), and then me with a FA MAS P3 and we'd all have a GSH-18 sidearm except for the specialists who get a SPAS 15 combat shotgun

I mean XM25. Sorry about that numerical confusion. Regarding the XM8, it's really disappointing to see that potential assault rifle to be scrapped. Since the M16's design's quite old now.

And I heard that the Rangers are using SCARs now. Saw it on some recent footages from some documentaries

Oh, layouts. Mine would be 3 riflemen with SCAR Ls, 1 SAW operator (Pecheneg,) 1 XM25 carrier, a Designated marksman (DSR-1) and 2 CTAR-21 Specialists

FN SCARs(Mk.16/17 Mod.0) use the same lower receiver as an M16 and M4, though the SCAR-L uses the 5.56 while the SCAR-H uses the 7.62.

also Metal Storm made the MAULs apparently a 5-round under-barrel/stand-alone shotguns and the 3GL capable of firing 3 40mm grenades with out reloading

the Owen gun was an out of the ordinary SMG and i probably wouldn't pick it up in combat

I'd rather have the MP28. Besides that, when it comes to bolt-action rifles, I'd love to have the legendary Lee Enfield. The Germans have mistaken that thing for MG fire, because of it's 10-round clip and the simultaneously firing of the British troops holed-up in one area.
