God, my leg hurts. I must have fractured it when I jumped off the ship. A stupid idea now that I think of it. Stupid...but necessary.

The mysterious new guy apologized for something he did with the atmosphere. I guess he thinks he caused my injury or something.

"Don't worry, I hurt my leg earlier. Nothing to do with you" Since he said he knows first aid, I guess he could be of use.
"You say you know some first aid? There is a lady inside the house that was badly beaten by the boss of these two and she might need help. I can heal myself later, she's more important right now."

I get up by using my rifle as a crutch. Not the best way to use a rifle, but right now isn't the time to worry about such things.

"If you think this thug can't do anything for us anymore, finish him off. I'll meet you inside the house"

The thug looks terrified, but he deserves what's coming to him. He wanted to hurt them too. I walk back into the house, using the rifle for support. Stella is inside holding onto her aunt. She must have come out by herself from wherever it was that she was hiding. She looks up at me scared.

"Don't worry, the bad guys are gone now. Now let's see how your auntie is doing."

「Ah, he hurt himself because of something else, great, my magic is not so off! I think.」
"Oh... Ha...haha... That's cool, I guess? Hahaha! I see, so there's an injured lady..."

「Once I've said that, I glared at the bandit, when he saw me glare at him, he let out a little scream of terror. Seems like the injured guy wants me to finish him off. Now that I think about it, they were said something about preparations...」

"Hey, you! Earlier, you said something about preparations that were done... What did you mean?"

「The thug was scared and hesitated to answer, but he answered anyways.」

"Carriage to carry little girl to slave market..."

「What?! These guy wanted to sell the girl... I guess they would have renounced to killing her and selling her off would have been a better idea. Thinking about that, I got irritated and threw a ferocious punch aimed at his face. The bandit flew towards a tree, knocking him out on the impact. After that, I turned towards the injured guy and walked with him towards the house. There, I see a small terrified girl and an injured lady.」

"So that's the little girl and that's the lady..."

「As I said that, I gave a small first aid kit to the savior and walked towards the two victims.」

"Use that to take care of your leg. Hello little girl. What's your name?"

「She looks a bit terrified... It's understandable considering the situation. Oh right! I have candy!」

"Here's a Kitty Candy! Don't worry about your sister, or mom? I'll take care of her!"

「I took out a first aid kit from my bag and sincerely smiled at her. She looks relieved and took the candy happily. I'm glad! I take a quick glimpse at the young lady, damn... These are really brutal bruises... I began to take care of her and wrap her up. Although, it looks more of less amateur-ish...」

"Hehe... I did my best, you'll have to go see a doctor, just to be sure!"
"Th-thank you..." 「The lady replied tiredly. Damn those bastards, why would they lift their fingers on a woman? Anyhow, I turned towards the guy.」

"That ship outside, it's yours right? It would be swell if you take both of them to a hospital in Ostia. Hehe!"

The guy was nice enough to give me a first aid kit, but I still think I'll be fine. Still, I look through it and find some pain killers so I take some of those.

He suggests that I take them to a hospital. Unfortunately...

"Ok, but you're going to come along. I don't know the area very well and I would probably get lost trying to find a hospital"

I take out a remote from one of my pockets, type in a few orders, and watch as the ship decends and deploys a ramp made of magic or something. How the magical world works in terms of physics has always stumped me.

"I'm not sure if she is fit for walking or not so carry her up the ramp. When you enter the ship there will be a living-room type area. Sit her down on the large sofa. I'd help you, but I can barely walk straight. The painkillers helped, thanks for that, but I still have a mean limp."

I look down at the bodies of the guys we just took care of.

"Do you think we could get a reward for these guys? People involved in shady business always have rewards on their heads. Might be a good sum of Drachma if we take them in. Two of them are dead, but the guy by the tree over there looks like he's still breathing. I'm sure that has to count for something."

「Seems like that guy took some painkillers.」

"You sure you'll be fine with just that?"

「He ignores my concern, probably because he doesn't want to worry me and proceeds to tell me he needs me to accompany them.」

"Sure, why not? A free ride back is swell, thanks!"

「He then tells me to carry the young lady to the ship, since he's hurt himself.」

"You don't need to tell me that, I'm on it! And you little lady, are you alright? You wouldn't mind coming with us don't you?"

「She nods and follows me to the ship, she looks worried about the woman. I pat her head and tell her not to worry and she'll be fine. She smiled. The guy then asks me if we could probably get some money from the bandits...」

"We could, I think, I'm not too sure, it depends on how much influence they have in the shady underground business I guess. Up to you."

「As I said that, I carried the young lady to the living-room quarters and put her down on the sofa. She thanked me and fell asleep. I turned and saw the guy, who just entered the room with the help of the little girl.」

"Well, I think we're all ready now. Nice ship by the way!"

「Still remains a chat thread.」

Last day in Spain.
The stories I will tell!

"If you think the ship is nice now you should have seen it when I got it. The previous owners were filthy."

I sit down on the pilot chair to get the ship going. Feels great to be off my legs. The guy gives me some coordinates to get to the nearest hospital. Upon getting there, some nurses take the lady away in a gurney. We follow behind her until the doctor stops us.

"We'll take it from here. You did good in bringing her here so quickly. We'll get her fixed right up."

Since I'm already here...

"Hey doc, mind sending someone over to take a look at my leg? I think I fractured it."

"Sit down here" He points to a series of seats along the wall "I'll send someone to help you. Fixing bones is a relatively easy process"

I sit down and wait. The little girl sits down to, looking a little worried about her aunt.

"I'm sure she'll be alright. Don't worry, the doctors will help her." She nods and I turn to the new guy that came with us.

"So, you're a good samaritan that just happened to be in the area. I find that hard to believe, but I wont question it. What are you doing here in Ostia?"

As I'm talking a nurse wearing a robe walks towards me and starts working on my leg. A faint glow is coming off her hands as she heals me. It's starting to feel better already.

「After we arrived at the hospital, the docs quickly took care of the guy and the lady. He then asks me about my reason for being here in Ostia.」

"It's up to you to believe, I would actually find it hard to believe too if I met someone randomly like what happened."
"To make it short, I'm in Ostia because well... I got separated from my group because I was saving someone... I told them to leave without me. The person that I saved's home was here, in Ostia, so I ended up staying here, hoping that my friends will get here too. Ostia IS a famous city and all. How about you?"

「Now that I think about it, it's been 3 or 4 days and I have yet to hear news from them. I wonder if I'm wasting my time here. I could probably go solo from now if I wanted to haha... In the other hand, I hope they're safe. I looked at the little girl and she really looks worried.」

"Little lady, don't be worried, like this kind man here said, your mom will be fine! Oh, right!"

「I totally forgot to introduce myself! Well, it's better late than never.」

"My name's Desfel, how about you two?"

At least now I know his name and why he's here. I might as well introduce myself.

"My name is Straha. It's an odd name, but it's what I'm known as. This little one is Stella. Nice to meet you." I shake his hand. "I'm originally from Mundus Vetus, but I decided to abandon my life there and begin a new one here. So far I've been living the life of a mercenary, which isn't much different from the life I left behind, sadly. I have to make money and this is the bast way I know how."

The nurse finishes working on my leg while I talk. Man, that was fast.

"There you go. Your leg should be fine now. It might be sore for a day or two, but that's normal"

"Thank you. Would you happen to know when the lady that came with us will be ok?"
"Her injuries weren't as extensive as they seemed. She should be out in fifteen minutes or so" I thank her again and she leaves. Medicine sure is efficient here. Unlike back in Mundus Vetus where her type of injuries would have taken weeks to heal.

I look at Stella.
"Hey, Desfel. I think Stella and her family will be ok now that those thugs are done. Someone should tell her dad that it's ok to stop working so hard now and come back to his daughter. Since I like to explore the land, I'll probably go there. Would you like a ride somewhere or will you be staying here and wait for your friends?"

「He introduces himself as Straha, apparently, he's from the Old World... Somehow, I'm not really fazed by this. Seems like he's in the same pinch as me.」

"Running out of Drachma too? Haha, I'm searching for some jobs myself before I'm broke..."

「The nurse finished healing Straha and it seems the young lady will take about 15 minutes before she's recovered. Stella still seems worried. He asks me if I want to follow him or stay here... I don't really want to bother him and I'm worried about these two.」

"Thanks for the offer, but I'll stay behind, not for my friends, but for these two. Even though we've taken care of the bandits, we don't know if they're completely safe. I'll keep an eye on them until you find her father. Sounds good for you?"

「I looked at Stella with a gentle smile and she smiles back. Seeing her smile, I can't believe some bastards would actually stoop so low as to kill such an innocent child.」
