Genometrics Concert Hall ~Mrgrgr!!!~

Hmm...he's asking about my past. Should I tell him the truth? I guess there's no harm. I doubt anyone from Mundus Vetus is going to come and try to find me here of all places.

"Well, the reason for my reputation is the fact that I went back on a job that I shouldn't have taken in the first place. While I was in Vetus, a large group of mercs including me were hired by a very powerful person from the nation called the United States. I don't know if news from Vetus ever reaches here, but Uranium harvesting is beginning to be a big problem there. At first there was enough to go around, but as more and more nations begun to use nuclear energy, supplies began to run short. The United States had it's eye on a Uranium rich part of Africa, but it was in deputed territory between the African Union and the Third Reich. What the person who hired us wanted us to do was go into a village near the very edge of the Third Reigh - Afican Union border and kill as many if the civilians there as we could while wearing uniforms from the African military in order to spark a war between the two nations. When this happened, the United States was supposed to come in and offer to aid the Third Reich in their war with the African Union due to the fact that they had attacked the United States just hours before the incident. That part was also planned and was to be executed by another group of mercs. With the combined powers of the Third Reich and the United States, the African Union would fall within weeks and the United States would claim some territory as it's reward in helping the Third Reich. This territory would conveniently be the Uranium rich piece of land that geologists from other nations have failed to notice.

It was all supposed to be a smooth plan and we were supposed to be greatly rewarded with so much money that we wouldn't have to worry about financial needs for the rest of our lives. The money lured me in, but once we started executing the mission, seeing all those civilians die made me quit the mission and try to stop as much of the murder as I could. I couldn't do a thing about what the other group of mercs were doing, but for my group here in the village, I could try my damn hardest to stop them. I must have killed about a quarter of them before they finally realized that I had betrayed them and began to hunt me down. I barely escaped with my life and I owe it mostly to the Sun Marbles that I carry around. They scrapped the mission earlier than expected because of what I did, which is what I was hopping for, but the war still started.

For the next few months I was being hunted down by both the people that hired me and the other mercs I betrayed. I couldn't go anywhere due to the fact that I was wanted in many nations by people who were looking for the reward on my head. After a while, I couldn't take it anymore so I abandoned my life there and came here to Mundus Magicus. My grandfather had told me about this place when I was young and he told me of the location of one of the gate ports that lead here. A bunch of research and a quick gate jump later, here I am."

I can't quite tell what Desfel is thinking. I hope that story didn't make me look too bad. Sometimes I feel like a coward for having to run away from my problems like that.

「We arrived at Stella's place and disembarked. When we got down, Stella immediately comes out and hugs us and called us Uncle. It kinda felt weird.」

"Stella, I'm not that old, you can call me Onii-chan!"

「She smiles brightly and hugs me again.」

"Ok Onii-san!"

「She's so cute. I pat her head. Straha asks her where her dad and aunt went, they're apparently out shopping. Straha looks at me and tells me I can leave Yula inside. I looked at Stella and she nods with a smile. I walked inside and lay her down on the couch. Guess it'll take more time before she wakes up... I'm kind of worried. Then, Straha asks me about myself. Stella runs off cheerfully to prepare some tea.」

"Sure, you've told me yours, now it's my turn. It's not that much interesting though haha. And also, she isn't my mistress, get that down right, I don't want to be this girl's servant or something!"

「Before I started telling my story, Stella brings us our tea and sits on the chair next to Yula. Straha was standing next to the wall and I was on the opposite side, standing next to the couch, resting my back against the wall.」

"Thanks Stella, you're a sweet little girl aren't you!"
"Hehe!"

"First off, I was born in Mundus Vetus, in a remote village, near Wales, England. At the age of five, my family moved over to Mundus Magicus. We lived in a peaceful remote village, a bit far from Ostia. I've learned magic since I was at the age of three. I can use Wind, Thunder and Fire magic, but I'm more proficient with Wind."

"At 7, I was sent back to Mundus Vetus, to attend at the Merdiana Magic Academy, in Wales. It took me around 3 or 4 years to graduate and I immediately came back to Magicus, where I explored the world at the young age of 10-11, to learn more about magic. I haven't seen my parents since that day, but I'm sure they're still alive and well. I should visit them again soon."

"During my travel, I've met with a lot of strong people and learned a lot from them. I can fight too, martial arts! I've learned some basics from The Thousand Blades. Now that I think about it, I should find him again and have him teach me what I have left to learn... Anyhow, I'm more of the close quarters combat type, I can juggle with some strategies when it comes to mid and long range though!"

"Anyhow, nowadays, I just take on odd-jobs when I need Drachmas and continue on traveling. I don't have any specific reasons to settle down yet. Besides, I have an ominous feeling that something's going to happen soon. I don't know what, but it's just a hunch. Encountering those bastards reinforces my worries. Well, no use worrying about it right now. Well, I don't know what I can say about me, so if you have anything you need to ask, just go ahead!"

「Sorry Straha... I can't tell you about the darker parts of my life...」

「I look at Stella, she's listening to me attentively and I suddenly remembered about the scroll.」

"Say Stella, did you use the scroll that I gave you?"
"Um um!"

「She shakes her head.」

"I'm glad to hear that. Keep it, in case anything happens ok?"

「She nods and smiles.」

"Thank you Onii-san! I'll be sure to take care of it!"
"Haha... How can you take care of scroll?"

「I turned my heads towards Lila, she's sitting on the chair next to Stella. She fell asleep, seems like she was really tired haha. I'm relieved to see the peaceful expression on her face.」

"So Straha, what should we do now?"
