Incoherent Babbling

So, over the past few months users have been complaining about the current state of affairs in IB. I'm going to point out some of the most obvious flaws that I see are prevalent in the section which contribute to this state.


Pointless Blogging

Remember the whole IB isn't your personal blog blog mentality? What happened to it? Why aren't we enforcing it anymore? Sure, it's nice to post about your life once in a while, but only if it's something that's actually worth discussing. Does anyone really give a fuck if Slayer's been eating subway or if Lugo's car broke down? I sure as hell don't, shit like that happens every day to millions of people, it doesn't warrant a thread and if you really want to talk about it just use Skype. There's only a few reasons I could really see aside from someone being genuinely bored enough that they'd respond to those threads, which leads me into my next point...


Posting for the Sake of Posting and Feeding Trolls

This seems like it's pretty rampant in the section right now. All too often people make totally meaningless posts in totally meaningless threads just for the sake of posting or because the user who made the thread in question is their friend. This isn't CTFG, if you want to create chat topics and circle jerk each other that's the place to do it. If you don't like a thread that x user has created or it's a thread with the obvious purpose of trolling don't fucking respond to it. The only reason Shiki keeps making low-quality threads and posts in this section is because you keep responding to it and feeding his goddamn insecurity. I don't even know why I have to point this out, it's Internet 101, don't feed the trolls, don't complain about their content, don't respond to comments and threads that aren't interesting. If you follow those three simple rules you will rid yourselves of whatever troll is plaguing the section.


X Newfag is Shit and His/Her Posts are Shit

Yeah, sure, the fault is on the user themselves to a point, but only to a point. We're the active users, we're the prominent users and we're the ones that are supposed to be setting a good example for new members. It is our responsibility. If you don't want every new user who comes into this section to post shit content you should probably stop posting about what you had for fucking lunch. What is this, snapchat? And no, just because you've been a member for a long time and have integrated into the community doesn't mean you have the right to shitpost all over the place. I'm not going to point out names, but just looking at the first three pages of IB It's hard to find a thread by an old user that's any more interesting than how many teddy bears I have.

The section did a decent job of handling the trolls and defending the site when the whole Fakku Books fiasco was going on, we shouldn't have a problem dealing with users like Shiki. We're the majority and we can shun whoever we want, Waar doesn't have to ban them.

I'd rather give him a bit of attention now so he doesn't get any later than have him continue acting like he is for the rest of the year and listen to people complain.

I wouldn't have to give him any attention at all if you guys could internet properly.

24/7? No. But I don't see a 24/7 problem with shiki. Somethings he mentions in some post I don't take as a problem but interest in, just like everyone else here. If you feel the need to blockade him out of IB because of a few posts gone wrong than that's up to you and the others, but I'm not going to follow the herd or abandon a friendship because of that very petty reason.

It's not a few posts gone wrong, it's a constant stream of them. And it isn't a petty reason, he makes those posts with the intent to annoy people, there's no reason anyone should have to put up with that, especially when it's not even entertaining.

It's your choice man, you don't need to join us if you don't want to.

i didn't have a problem with first and third points. But second eh, remember when yoshii bumped all of the first page so that one particular thread didn't get replies or medzy posting looong ass spam so illumina's threads wouldn't get attention, in both cases only waar's lock produced wanted results. Or that one time when waar locked every thread that he deemed meaningless and it inquired full on bitching, so after a while he stopped.

It's apparent how ib doesn't like when it's being told how to act.

It's really clear that Shiki, Koko and Illumia (less so now) are just seeking attention, if you stop giving it to them then they won't have a reason to be here anymore. At the very least it minimizes the shitposting because people won't keep responding to them.

I don't see how bumping an entire page of IB just to block a topic or posting a bunch of spam is ignoring someone, so I'm not sure what your point is.

Well, that's how a suggestion like yours would look practically. Learn from history dude.

Your rant of how to behave in here shows that you have no fukking clue how to internet properly. You claim rules on us that simply annoys you, and we are supposed to behave how you say we should, because this magically makes things better. Yeah right...

I do understand your point of "don't feed the trolls", i have been saying sometime now that the most common thing in IB is that everybody has the need to write a post on these 'shitty' threads about how shitty they are.

But my problem is that you claim 'authority' of how things should be here in your view, even though as far as i know, the people who makes these supposed 'shitty' threads or trolls haven't broken any rules, if they had they should have been banned long time ago. So basically nobody is breaking any rules, yet you are telling people how to behave that suits you and somehow you claim that we should "internet properly"? Just sad...

That's very normal, especially on the Internet. Reason why Pyre is making a thread is because we have to change the way IB is not because someone told us to, but because most of us want it to change, and there's a general consensus that the quality of threads is going down.

Naturally, because humans are contradictory creatures, we're gonna go against such a motion because 'someone told us to do it'.

I'll honestly make an effort to try and post more, and try and keep my content in the non-troll/non-blog variety, because I want more diverse content, and not because someone told me on a thread that he wanted more diverse content.
