Sweet November Juliet.Grand freaky, tell them about your heroic experience on the field!
I had a haji shoot me from a murder hole with a shit Chinese ak. So it hit my dragon vest (since uncle Sam gave my unit nam era armor so my dad sent me top if the line dragon armor made here where I live) and bounce off like plastic bb from an air gun. The monkey slackman unloaded his saw on the dune coon and killed him and the two insurgent behind the compound wall. Few week later I stopped a tribeman from stoning his daughter for getting raped and took a round into the shoulder. First tour was easy. Second one was hell.
Holy shit ...

I figure this is as good a place as any to make my first post(i think). Anyone here ever been to Bahrain? Looking to probably get orders there in November.

I'm just a mechanic... I keep F-15s as nice as I can keep them for whenever they gotta make drops on some dudes. I've only been to South Korea and the UAE so far... haven't seen much action, obviously.

Jealous
Not everyone lives to be a vet.
And some would have preferred otherwise.
Dispel your dreams of glory. A lot of military service is long periods of mind-tearing boredom or great suffering and loss.
No-one wants to see their friends get shot or blown up.

So a topic to go off on: what are your oppinions on females being able to join the infantryIf they're capable, they should.
However there have been studies to show that the men are more likely to be distraught/traumatised if a girl goes down or is injured. More likely to endanger themselves and disregard orders to save them.
Personally, I don't foresee that sense of chivalry ever going away. Tactically sound or not.
People can say what they will, but I know that for myself- if I was in the field and saw a female soldier and another guy go down- I'd go to the girl first. It just wouldn't sit right with me to do otherwise.

No im not actualy cripled my user name is something given to me in my highschool days after i broke my leg in football and i am still in i am in the army as a infantryman at the 82nd airborne divisionAn All American paratrooper eh? Not an easy job to say the least. I hear you guys can deploy anywhere in the world within 18 hours, this true?

That is a good point i personaly believe that a woman can do just as good a job as a man in the field of combat. They will have to go through all the same training.
and yes we can deploy anywhere in 18 hours if need be but seeing as how the current war is at a extreemly slow point with a possible end in sight ... not nessisaraly for the right reasons ... i dont see us haveing to do that.

Re opening my crushed dreams again ...Listen up brother, ever heard of Nick Berg? You do not want join the military.
R.I.P Berg. That's one reason why I wanted to Join the military to stop the idiocy that is going on. I won't give up. ASTHMA OR NOT IM JOINING THE MILITARY!! Those who say I can't can kiss my ass. I'll prove them wrong and show them that I got what it takes to be a marine.
Edit: I just got done watching his execution video. Poor man but still my passion is stil not wavering. This just adds fuel to the fire.

I considered joining the Marines. But I decided against it.
I have a lot of respect for our military, shame that they get treated like crap sometimes.

ITT, people pretend they are in the military. MrCripple, if you are actually in the service (and I doubt it) then going around on the internet being an attention whore isn't how you let people know that.
They might let you join if your asthma isn't very severe, but I guarantee that you won't ever get combat duty. Which some might view as a plus, depends on what you want to do.

I thought about joining the military full time but considering the things I've seen and other stuff I heard going on initially I thought it was just the gangs that would cause problems at home for soldiers coming home but anyone hear of the guys who come back and end up in financial hell
I used to say "if we don't protect what we got here all the soldiers out there wont have a home to come back to" feels fucked up that I was partially right, the guys that end up with those financial problems they do get to come home but only to watch a greedy government or bank take it from them
in light of all that I still want to do my part so I'm going to be joining the reserves currently going into security guard work while I'm still here I figure in the long run when I wanna become a cop after collage having military and security force references (and experience) will help me out a lot.

For the females being allowed in infantry units question, no.
First off, i don't truly believe that most women out here would even consider taking an infantry MOS. I think it would just tickle their insides to have the option out there (yay, another huge step in women's rights!) Secondly, i'm really tired of their BS claim that all they want is equality. If they really wanted equality then they'd be begging for the same PT standards, they'd stop falling-out of simple 5 k's, and they'd start telling the CO "No sir, i don't want this promotion just because you think I smell nice."
Besides that, they're better off not being around a bunch of grunts all day. Some gay shit goes down that no woman should want to see.
