Project-H Print & Digital Quality?

So speaking of Idol Monster Girls, which chapter was removed? I'm looking at the raws and I don't see anything controversial.

I was honestly just super excited to have something about monster girls in print! lol



I don't see anything on the page itself anymore and I don't have anything to compare chapters with but if I remember correctly it was something similar to this.

^^^ That is copy/pasted from "Strange Sex In Parallel Worlds" IIRC "Idol Monster Girls" had a similar post under it but didn't give a reason why, just that the publisher wanted some chapter omitted :/ Unless they just ended up not omitting anything which would be pretty great!

Preordered Ai da Koi dano Ittenaide port. Gave money to the evil amazon since meh why would i pay double just for a digital?

Seems like even the Project-H fans don't even want to buy from the main website anymore...

I just checked and "Stop Quibbling About Love" is $12.77 on Amazon right now. Not bad, pretty good discount. Though, too bad it is immediately erased by the $6.50 in shipping and taxes since I don't have Prime. There's a free shipping threshold for books at $25, so if I can find something else to make that, I may consider it. Otherwise, I'd rather order off the Project-H site and buy a few books to get free shipping at $75 and hopefully pair that with a 15-20% off coupon once it gets stocked in print, which will be months sooner than Amazon.

Amazon's release dates are always screwed up. When I preordered it was Feb 7th. Even thought it say July it always ships a few days after it releases. Just like zero escape 3 and the tomie hardcover which had months later release dates posted. June vs the original Christmas release. I wouldn't be surprised if the preorders on the project h site don't come until July or even unlock to be order until then.

Ah, so the Taimanin chapters. I had a hunch it had something to do with Lilith. That sucks. I mean, it seems like the situation was a little out of their control, but with their reputation, it's hard for me to give them the benefit of the doubt.

I feel like it all comes down to costs and business. Lilith isn't averse to localization (e.g. Mangagamer). Project-H probably just doesn't want to cover additional licensing costs and/or doesn't care since removing shit is standard procedure for them. I'm kinda talking out of my ass because I don't really know how these things work and maybe Lilith or KTC is being difficult. Still, this is the second time they've encountered this same obstacle. How many more chapters will they have to omit from KTC books with multiple copyright owners before they decide they should probably work something out.

I'm pretty sure FAKKU Books has published tanks with works from multiple publishers before. But again, ass-talking, idk.

So I got my copy of Idol Monster Girls today. I haven't opened it yet but I am slightly annoyed that the book has $15.95 as the price on the back but they're charging $19.95 on the Project H site. That was for physical only, the digital and physical is like $24.95.

Well, that sucks. You should probably alert support on twitter with a pic and see what they say. You may get a refund for the difference if it is a mistake.

Yeah, they did just give me a refund for the difference, the changed it right after they read my message apparently. lol I was glad they helped me out over twitter though, I don't really use it but its been proving to be useful now ;)

I was just surprised that they'd make an error like that. I've been overcharged quite a few times on eBay and I always get annoyed when it happens, though on ebay its generally a seller overcharging on shipping! lol

I hate this kind of ebay sellers...
Can you give a little review in regards to the (paper)quality of the book or even make a photo?

I took terrible pictures I think lol and I think some didn't upload correctly. I was trying to compare it to the LE Vanilla Essence and a Fakku book but the Vanilla essense didn't upload.

Honestly, I do like some things Project H puts out (or I would be buying anything!) but I'm not super content with the paper quality in comparison to their LE or any Fakku book, at least for this book. I purchased Mizuryuland and MC Academy and the paper quality is very good on those IMO. I didn't have time to compare pictures with those though.

Thanks for posting the pics! It looks like they cheaped out again and went with the more newspaper-y stock, sigh. I agree the paper quality on Mizuryuland is good. Oddly enough, though, the 1st Day has slightly worse paper than the 1.5 Day and the 2nd Day; the former being printed in Canada while the latter in the USA.

It is hit or miss if a newer book will use the whiter and smoother print paper, it seems. I can confirm Strange Sex In Parallel Worlds (Takayuki Oohashi) and Magical Warriors Chocolat and Pudding (Kanon Ishino) both use the better whiter and smoother quality paper as well as all the 2nd edition Yamatogawa books and Mizuryu Kei doujinshi.

Ones I have that use sub-par more newsprint quality paper are:

Girl Play (Taniguchi-San)

No problem at all! I will note that Idol Moster Girls wasn't the only pricing error they had on their site, since someone else raised a similar question on their twitter. Since they did give me the refund on the difference, I decided to buy Girl's Shock to see the print on that (I do quite like Inu so I had to! I can hopefully put a comparison up for that once I get it in. I'd be a little disappointment if the print is the same as Idol Mosnter Girls though. Honestly some of the second edition Icarus Publishing books and most of the "Mangerotica" Eros Comix stuff have pretty damn good prints, especially in comparison to this.

If it was about Totally Exposed, that was me lol. I was adding stuff to my wishlist and noticed the price disparity when I double checked the MSRP with DMP's site. To their credit, they promptly fixed that issue after I let them know. I'm still waiting to see if they upgrade the digital versions for the many of books I ordered, though. They upgraded the Mizuryuland ones and Deep Stalker to x2400 resolution, but none of the others, including all the Yamatogawa 2nd Ed. books, have been upgraded yet from the x1200 resolution. I enjoyed the Fuzzy Lips ero anime, need to check out the manga and Inu's other stuff sometime. Please do let us know what the paper quality is like for Girl's Shock when you get it later.

Oh man I should have noticed the matching names! I think I was more surprised that someone else said that something wasn't correct that I overlooked it! Lol

The two Inu book might be on my next buying spree. Just waiting for a price break. The Preordered Kerorin tank was confirmed not to ship from project h until july also. A friend ordered it from the site and asked.

Recently got "Tight Encounters" which I pre-ordered on amazon and I must say that project h went back to the roots in regards to paper quality. I think they went back to using the same (or nearly the same) paper quality as for older books like "Colorful Harvest"...

This is quite disappointing to hear... I was interested in this one. Now, not so much. :(
