Kamp Kuzma: The Operators' Campgrounds (For Operating)

Well it's either sights or barrel. I do not see something our of ordinary other than being it partially in Desert Tan.

Well it's true that I see fluted barrel for the first time on a pistol. I also did not knew the English term for that one. In Czech we call it "ribbing" delivered from ribs for whatever reason.

Take a look at this AK Bullpup.
It seems like a standard AK reconfigured with the trigger up forward and a bunch of rails thrown on also a cheek raiser on the receiver as well. Personally, I don't find it that aesthetically pleasing and I'd probably go for a Russian made AK bullpup like an OTs-14 Groza or even the Chinese Type 86S.

Probably some of the best news I've heard so far, Magpul is starting to go into the AK accessory line with its new MOE AK Pistol grip.

Apparently to be released sometime this year and retailing around $20 US. It'll be the first of hopefully many Magpul AK accessories.

Despite the commotion with the recent firearms restrictions or whatever we're gonna call it happening in America, there is a lot of news and development in the firearms industry(because of SHOT Show).
The first is from Mathews Harris Harmonics who manufacture bows and the like. If any of you know a thing about bows, you'd probably know what a Damper is. They are basically a suspended weight that absorb vibration from firing the bow. What Mathews Harris has done is take that technology, bring it to a larger scale and install it onto a Mossberg shotgun stock. In theory, this will 'dampen' the recoil made from this 12 gauge bad boy much like the way it would dampen vibrations in a bow. No released retail price yet but sounds promising.
McMillan, famous for making military sniper rifles like the TAC-50, released a new and quite interesting piece called the ALIAS MBA(Modular Bolt Action). The ALIAS is a 5.56mm Bolt Action Weapon System, its two part receiver very much resembles the AR-15 platform and any magazine and pistol grip for the AR-15 is compatible with the ALIAS. Its mainly being sold as modular parts but also available as a whole in several standard configurations, the one in the images is designated the ALIAS CS5-Q and features a 12.5 inch barrel, collapsible QD stock, quad rail and suppressor. When the stock and suppressor are detached, this rifle is only 23.5 inches long, enough for a backpack. Would love to get this and I'm pretty sure the thing is well more than legal here.
For quite a while now, the firearms industry have been appealing to the "Zombie-Hunter" market and EoTech is no exception with their new sight; the Zombie II. A continuation of their previous sight(now designated Zombie I), these sights sport a unique biohazard reticule.
The DRD Paratus, which I wrote about recently, also made an appearance at this year's SHOT Show. It was introduced last year in about August and Youtube famous "FPS RUSSIA" made a video of it a while back as well(one which nearly saw the end of his life) so its no wonder they'd show it at SHOT Show either.
Well, firearms industries have already taken action to the new firearm restrictions, lots of companies have been releasing single-shot break-action rifles recently. Break action rifles are those that 'break' at the barrel much like those typical double barrel shotguns you see being OP in movies and games. Even Advanced Armament Corp has released one which they call their Handi-Rifle and is loaded for .300 AAC Blackout. The barrel is 16.2 inches long and threaded at the end for suppressors, weighing at about 6.9 pounds, it makes a good backup hunting rifle.
Onto some miscellaneous gun stuff, the company TAPCO released these cute iPhone cases that feature a gun, so far only either the AR-15 or AK-47. Personally, I've never been a fan of the iPhone but these cases are quite lovely. . . not enough to make me buy one though.
Also from TAPCO was some classic style AK goodness(non of the tactical stuff). The Red Laminate AK-47 Stock set is a new addition to TAPCO's AK stock sets already available in Grey, Black or Brown. Besides giving the AK a nice classic(and Romanian, did I mention its Romanian style) look, it also features a thick rubber buttpad to absorb recoil, the grip also is upgradeable to have a checker or new skull pattern.
And on tactical news for the AK, Strike Industries released the first ever Keymod system for the AK. For those who don't know, the Keymod System was a new standardised method, first released in last years SHOT Show, to attach accessories onto the rifle fore ends without the need for rails(but it could also use rails). It was open sourced by VLTOR to allow the manufacture of KeyMod accessories to anyone and now, after all these KeyMod systems for the AR-15, the AK finally is able to get a taste of the new tactical system.
And to end it off, a nice message from the boys at Military Minds

They always make these nice pictures, makes me want to print them into posters to hang in my room.

That's refreshing news out there at SHOT. Some of those things are really neat but I admit I'm not really a fun of carvings on a guns. And I'd love to see if Damper really works.

I always like SHOT Show, they always bring at least something that interests me, I remember seeing that tactical bacon last year and now Kei has a whole shelf full of it. The stuff has 10 year shelf life, wouldn't you know.

They really put word tactical on everything nowadays... Though it really looks tasty, but I'm not sure if I'd be willing to pay 20 bucks per can.
EDIT: ... ... I saw review video for Tactical Bacon...THAT'S FREAKING LOT OF BACON COVERED IN LARD! O.O

Indeed, I don't really like how they've just branded everything with tactical. I cringe every time I read some hipster kid write "tactical" with his camouflage jeans. But of course this isn't as bad as such cases, I think survival would have been a better choice of words.
But yeah, I tried it and its pretty awesome for canned bacon. Kei and I went on a camping trip with them and I lasted a whole day with one can.

So I picked my kerambit today. It's really cool, but it will take a while to get used to it, because I don't really have much experience with this type of weapon. Nevertheless I think I can manage.

It's a good knife once you get the hang of it.
On other news, KRISS has been working quite a bit on their Vector SMGs. Two new models, the VECTOR CRB loaded for .22 LR Rimfire (wonder how they managed that) and the Multi-Calibre Vector which takes .45 ACP, .40 S&W and 9mm Para. People must really love this thing and I can see why, the technology implemented is quite astounding but still I don't find the shape aesthetically pleasing.

I came across Vector SMG several times. I think it's interesting and I don't mind it's untypical shape.
Yeah but firstly I need to get that hang :)
This is really cool. Not that I like Glock or Gunny that much, but combination of these two elements is really cool. :)

KEIROVA: Mighty fine stuff there Valeriy, especially the TAC-50, would consider getting that rather than that rip-off of a locally made M4.
Well, Lance, unlike you I am a big fan of Glock and R Lee Ermey aka Gunnery Sergeant Hartmann. I proudly own a Glock 19 for 9x19mm(sometimes I use that instead of my issued Browning HP and 38 for .45 GAP. Unfortunately, ammo for the latter is somewhat uncommon here.
Anyway, just came to see how you guys were going. Haven't personally visited the forums lately, busy with work here and been grumbling about the Mali situation.

KEIROVA: Well the days and nights are quite hectic here though they've been getting quieter and quieter as the weeks go by. Also, I stumbled across this a while now and I thought it was a lovely piece of work.

Kei, what's the plot of that video? I still can't understand it even after watching all of it. Is it supposed to be a joint exercise?
