Picture of Chadian soldier on the Mali front with a tacti-cool AK74 decked out with the kind of stuff even the most professional soldier would envy.

It's using a CAA Tactical M4 stock(that's enough to make me jealous)

Also with it is the Mako 4-Rail Integrated Rail System, accessorized with rail covers even and an EoTech Holo sight, possibly the 553 model.

I'm kinda thinking, where the hell did this guy get all of this?

I must agree that it's mysteriously fascinating.
I heard that Americans tend to forget things on he field even stuff like NVGs so there might be a link to that.

KEIROVA: Sweet Damn, that's some nice AK. I fucking wish they'd send me up there with the frogs. Still, I'm enjoying myself here.

So there is a chance to find an used tank shell, magazines with ammo and other kind of cool stuff?
Speaking of which, my father has some used artillery shells. made out of brass and it weights alot.

Might be.
I found that guy again. The title says: A soldier from Tchad securing the airport in Gao, Mali (Reuters)

KEIROVA: From what I last read, only French and some British are in Mali. America has not officially been around Africa for a while besides some as part of UN Peacekeeping forces so my best guess is arms dealers or Chinese. Why would American forces have accessories for the AK anyway?

The Chinese would. Not PLA, just China in general.
Also Magpul PTS is releasing the Magpul PDR-C into their PTS line of airsoft rifles which include the Masada ACR series and MOE Carbine sets. This is probably the closest we'll ever get to a real Magpul PDR like many had hoped since it's first announcement in 2006 but it's not the only design that has been 'recycled' like this.
The UAR, designed with the help of a former Navy SEALs, was scrapped and turned into an airsoft rifle by A.P.S. Such a shame, these things looked damn fine and probably would have worked well as firearms.

You boys in Asia will want to pre-order one from eHobbyAsia.com whose selling it for US$320 ex. shipping. (Not promoting or anything >.>)

Update on that Chadian soldier, it would turn out that he is part of the FAS (Forces Armées et de Sécurité) Commandos. These guys are a Chadian Special Forces group, well trained and well armed for desert warfare, that soldier's AK configuration is actually standard issue for members of his group.
Here's proof:

These guys are highly renown, one story that pops up a lot is how their group infiltrated a column of Gaddafi's soldiers in the midst of a sandstorm and practically destroyed the entire unit.
On more tragic news however, Chris Kyle, the most deadliest sniper in US Military to date(recorded with over 160 confirmed kills) was killed at a gun range in Texas along with another man, Chad Littlefield. The man was famous for his writing the book "American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History" and even help started a non-profit group to assist with war veterans; FITCO Cares.
According to the group's director, Tavis Cox, Kyle and Littlefield had taken a man suffering from PTSD to a range to help him out but in turn were killed by his hand. The man was Eddie Ray Routh who was a corporal with the US Marines, deployed in Iraq in 2007 and was currently listed as a reserve.
Chris Kyle survived being shot twice during his tours of duty, he survived a number of IED explosions and he survived an $80,000 bounty on his head, but he was killed in his home state by a fellow veteran. It's really a tragedy.

It's about time the AR family got a Saiga-12 contender. Introducing the AR-12, an AR-10 based high-capacity shotgun that's semi-automatic and feeds from a box magazine.

Intrepid Tactical Solutions is releasing the AR-12, a 12-gauge shotgun upper that fits on standard SR-25/PMAG type AR-10 lowers, the upper is piston driven. The user must install a stouter, shotgun-specification recoil spring in the buffer tube, but otherwise the lower half of the gun remains the same as an AR-10. An 8-round single stack magazine has been designed to fit in the big AR-10 magazine well.
However, this gun is not without faults. Like the problems faced with a Saiga-12, a tradition 12 gauge round does not agree with box magazines, the rims of each round stacking onto each other. Although, Intrepid has thought of a solution, the RAS-12 round, an all polymer 12-gauge shell that sort of looks like a 40mm in my opinion, features a rebated rim and rounded nose.

I would love to get my hands on this but you know. . . my country's a bitch.

Goddamn, this entire place has changed far quicker than I anticipated it would. At least I can see this place is still the same(mainly because nobody has been on it for ages). Y'all don't mind me, go on with whatever has been going on while I've been gone, I'm going to follow a certain person's actions and, like what I originally had been doing when I first came here, observe.
Also that AR-12 is lovely, I wonder if I could use their specialized 12-Gauges for the Saiga

Three months in Timor ain't enough to kill me. And yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if Valeriy had given up on watching over the account, I imagine he'd have better things to do than just keep tabs on the place.
No matter, I imagine I'd end up giving up on this as well but I'd be just be giving the people what they want.

Do not give people what they want or they will want more and more and they will become greedy very quickly.

Heh, well that would take quite a bit of commitment to this forum and personally, it has failed to amuse me to that point. You can try if you're willing though, I'll only observe.
