Saw some gameplay streams. This game is gonna be fun! :)
EDIT: SPEAKING OF (unconfirmed) SURPRISES
What the double heck?!?
He made that Tanuki youkai come back so soon for HM, and Cirno is going to be a part of DDC?
What the heck?!?

I think it's about damn time I went back here
EDIT: Check the streams, guys. Tons of 13.5 streams are goin' on. Even the 12.3 streams aren't reaching less than 50 cuz of the 13.5 flood.
EDIT2: HM (13.5) DL link? http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?shareid=569178&uk=1879153513 :O

According to what I've seen so far, excluding what Mello already posted:
- New character introduced in Hopeless Masquerade is Hata no Kokoro.
--
For Double Dealing Character:
- To make it simpler, here is a quote from a user who has watched and analyzed some of the game elements:
The starting number of bombs has returned to 3. You also get a free bomb part after every boss phase, like with SA's life parts, complete with it not appearing if you die on that phase, I think. Plus an additional bomb/life part after spellcards because of the point items the boss drops.
Bombs auto-collect items again like in LLS-MoF (seems to preserve maximum value like UFO/TD auto-collect, but it's hard to tell). It seems they also can trigger chains, allowing for the possibility of bombing for life parts. The bomb seems quite short, more like a border break, with no Sakuya-specific details, so it may be the same for all characters like in MoF (edit: actually, as several others are saying, it seems to function like SA MarisaC's bomb with an extra screen clear, giving you 3/8 of a bomb back if you don't break the border, not sure how I missed that). It's also used as the death wave. (Dying is the same as in UFO otherwise, -1.00 power, with .07 scattered.)
Canceled bullet value is quite high compared to SA/UFO/TD, though still lower than MoF. It seems to be the primary method of increasing PIV (though that might just be because the player isn't actively scoring).
On the topic of PIV, it seems to only start at 10,000, instead of 20,000 on Lunatic like in UFO/TD.
Spell bonuses are 9m/12m/15m in the video, and 13m for Hard stage 3 in the earlier screenshot. Tentative formula = (3 * stage number + 2 * difficulty value) * 1 million. Definitely more emphasis on spell bonuses here. Also stage clear bonuses have been increased: stage number * 3 million. Still not that high.
Oh, and that shot type is SakuyaA. It's visible when the player saved a replay at the end.
- Keep in mind that I cannot guarantee the validity due to some fake information rolling around and my lack of streaming effort; new characters are based from foreigner creatures, such as Mermaid, Dullahan-like youkai, and Werewolf.
All in all, this is the only thing that rubs me the wrong way so far.

There seems to be some kind of item chaining system. When a lot of items are auto-collected in a short time, effects happen, such as some kind of multiplier (UFO-style value increase?), and the appearance of a bomb part. Or sometimes a life part. Not sure what determines the exact reward. It may relate to the quantity of items collected. The starting number of bombs has returned to 3. It's already certain either way
Also, http://tasofro.net/touhou135/index.html#130526
ver 1.01 already. It's probably because of that crash during the Koishi game, so they immediately posted a fix of some sort
EDIT: Due to the huge traffic at Tasfro, we made a mirror of the 1.01 patch. http://www.mediafire.com/download/uovs0j4sv1j437x/th135_update_101.exe

TH13.5 MEGA mirror
Be on the lookout for more patches. Apparently Koishi is not 100% in the clear at the moment, based on board talk.

Koishi messing with the programmers' subconscious?
And excuse me, while I die a miserable death alone in my room while playing HM...
EDIT: That went better than expected... only needed two continues on the last boss.
And Koishi crashing the game, yep, everything went better than expected...

Torrent alternative for 13.5: http://www.nyaa.eu/?page=view&tid=437086
I can guarantee its safety as I just finished downloading and testing the game through this torrent file. Credit goes to the original uploader.
Anybody wants to share their personal thought regarding the game? I've yet to play the game in-depth, story mode is left untouched, but here are my thoughts so far:
-- I'd say Tasofro did a very well-done job for implementing characters with their own unique and entertaining movesets. Special mentions are granted for Byakuren with her superhuman strength and Koishi with her bizarre movements.
-- Unfortunately, the game looks much slower than its demo counterparts for reasons unknown, which is an easy minus point for a fighting game such as Hopeless Masquerade. Perhaps it might be just me though.
-- I already tried using Koishi as my character and opponent several times, but no crash accident so far. For an additional information, I have yet to apply the 1.01 patch. There were so many reports of Koishi crashing the game, but there were also some, albeit much lesser, who reported that they didn't have any problem with it. This issue might be related to hardware compatibility.
-- Minor glitch:
Sometime, the photoshoot in the newspaper features the last scene of my previous match instead of my current match.

There is no way I can online with a connection that's been returning RTO within 10 seconds interval all-day such as this one, Miboobies. Nighttime like now is even worse into the extent that I dare not to check the ping.

Not sure if the 1.01 fix is for that Koishi issue

I must say...
The OST for Hopeless Masquerade is absolutely fantastic. I'm personally loving every single bit of it. My personal favorites so far are:
Hartmann's Youkai Girl - Komeiji Koishi's theme
Lost Emotion - Hata no Kokoro's theme
Spring Lane ~ Colorful Path - Hakurei Reimu's theme

I gotta say... I actually don't like HM as much as I like the other games. It sits right below SA and right above UFO in terms of how much I like it. It was a little... bland, so to say. I think Koishi has the weirdest character on HM. Over time, she has three objects build up over time, and once they get completed, she auto attacks. Auto attacks, even if you're already attacking. A little stupid, if you ask me. But, that is how Koishi is.
Edit: Anyone have news on that new video based on the Scarlet Mist Incident?

Well, if it's the 1.01 patch, I can try reinstalling it without it. I really do want to try playing Koishi.
So far, my favorite in fun is Nitori, but story-mode, Reimu takes the cake with her teleportation. Especially out of hazardous enemy spellcards. And the border teleportation saved me from seeing the continue screen at least... I don't even know how often.
But I haven't even gotten the gameplay down and I need to try playing it with my gamepad first.
Other than that, a solid game with nice 3D movement, even if the number of playable characters is a real bummer. Considering the playability of one of my favorite characters/my person as a Touhou (Nitori), it's not that bad. Considering the non-playability of Okuu though... is a big minus point.
EDIT: Just tried out the demo of DDC and found that I completely lost all my (already meager) skill in the Danmaku games.
I didn't even beat the first stage boss, although... I have to admit that I just randomly moved about. But I'm really happy at Sakuya being playable again <3

Yeah... I already figured that out, and I've already beaten the Stage 3 boss...
Got two comments...
FIRST! - I like the Second stage bosses theme. :3
SECOND! - the characters without their weapons are, by far, stronger than their weapon counterparts.

Its on nyaa.
Regarding DDC
I did easy mode already. Its going to be about as hard as TD. The new characters, stage 2 and 3 bosses, have some fun spellcards. Specifically stage 3 boss. The spells in stage 2 remind me of Suwako's 2nd to last spell (Suwa War). The one where the thingy follows you around was like one of Yuyuko's and really interesting. Its going to be lots of fun to learn this by Comiket.
The auto collect line is unusually low, or felt that way. At the same time you can spam bomb pieces and life pieces by exploiting auto-collect. Its a much simpler version of the UFO's in UFO. No screen clear when you get them works well with how easily you can get them.
