FIRST! - I like the Second stage bosses theme. :3If you want to know and remember their names: http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Double_Dealing_Character/Characters
What do you think about Kagerou? I personally think she is the best DDC has to offer in this trial version - theme-wise, effect-wise, and etc-wise.

DDC is, in my opinion, relatively easier compared to some of its predecessors, but still slightly more difficult than TD. Just like with Yoshika and her regeneration ability, Kagerou surprised me with her Chen-like movements lethal version (assuming you stay on the bottom of screen). Most of the spellcards look delicious, I'm really impressed with the effects.
Speaking of items, don't you also feel that the items falling in somewhat slower pace?
It's not pleasant for me to witness how the penalty system in UFO is making yet another appearance here, but I feel glad the game is not as punishing, at least for now.

I'll memorize their names after the full version comes out. And I said the theme, not the actual boss...
Kagerou? Hmm... the theme felt oddly familiar to U.N. Own was Her?. Effects were good, especially for when she'd howl. But I really don't like her all that much.
It is a little more difficult than TD, especially when you get to Stage 3. And as I said, the non-weapon player characters are almost op in terms of the game, which makes it feel like it's easier.
Items.... felt like they fell at their normal pace. Unless you used Sakuya the times you played, which seems like it's her ability to make them fall slower.

Weapons are there usually for the sake of decoration only after all. Look at Miko, she barely, if not at all, used her sword in TD. But in HM, she used it as if she wanted to execute Unlimited Blade Works.
Oh is that so? Shame on my part for not paying attention. Yes, I only did use Sakuya. Thanks for the clarification there.

Now, reinstalled without 1.01 and found Koishi playable.
Then found her unplayable, since I didn't get how to play her. Well, I would have to practice her some more, but she appeared quite... random to me.

That's the way she was made to be. She randomly charges up one of the three items in the bottom of the screen near where her spiritual bar is. After they get charged, she just attacks, whether or not you're doing anything.

It was online, but it's been quickly removed for copyright violation.

i've only saw video of the gameplay, (multiple times) and i thought exactly the same thing...
personally i think stage themes are better than boss ones, but the best is the menu one

Actually, I believe Koishi is similar to Byakuren in a sense that both require 'preparations' before using the actual moves. Different from Byakuren who has the freedom to execute her skills at will after the preparation, Koishi has to wait till her meter is filled up, just like what Zandwarf said. However, it seems like you're able to slightly delay the execution if you press and hold the button, making her relatively unpredictable just like how Koishi is supposed to be.
As bizarre as it might be, there is nothing really off or random about her, movements-wise. To add, I think she is a fine character (bias overloaded) with above-average skills.
This one? Now that you mention it, this theme actually sounds very good. I probably overlooked it because I normally didn't pay much attention to menu. Good stuff.
I also heard that. How unfortunate, albeit understandable.
Did you manage to see it before it's taken down?
"You got cursed by yukkuri" is my serious answer.
"The game is still in its earliest stage. Heck, I even got killed by laser that I believed I would usually able to graze once before" is my joke answer.

It's a wonderful work of animation, if you also consider it's fanmade.
Colors are exquisite and pretty, and the same goes to the drawings.
Btw there's already a dubbed version, i belive it's chinese, but if you don't mind...

Well... I did win against PC with her, but still, I didn't feel like I was playing and rather she just randomly felt like moving at times. Didn't get the meter part of her, maybe that's why.

I'm fine with undubbed version. Thank you very much, Haru.
It's next to impossible for me to stream 16 minutes straight however. Is there any possible way to download it from bilibili? When I got asked to download, the filesize was somehow reduced to about 45 MB and the duration was 6 minutes instead of the real 16 minutes.
From what I managed to watch, it seems they used the SA opening with some additional Mobile Suit sound effects.
-edit--
In the end, I have to stream the whole video to see all of the download links [size=10](divided into 3 parts; 6 minutes, 6 minutes, and 4 minutes)[/h].
Holy-Royal-Firecracker, I'm really glad that they didn't adapt the whole EoSD (yet). The story seems to be a flashback and revolved around Flandre. Again, Marisa stole the main character mantle away from Reimu, at least for this episode only because there seems to be the next one coming in the future.
Putting wonderbar animation aside, it looks more like a prologue to me, which is a good thing considering 16 minutes is not enough justice for one game. To add, the ending sequence is simply boss; one of the best artworks of EoSD I've ever seen and fine song there.

She really is kinda tricky, both to her player and the opponent, though that makes her more attractive.

I didn't like the Chinese dub that much (I understand Chinese as well as I do English and German). The very fact that names are read in Chinese is a big detraction to everything... Chinese make no effort in making it sound like the original name (since we not only lack the Katakana-like thing in our language but they also lack common intonation sense).
But it was still better than a non-voiced video, since that really detracts from the experience. I always wondered why they could not hire somebody from the music circles to voice the characters, considering some singers (3L, Tsubaki) are active in several circles, why not in an animation circle too?

Hopeless Masquerade
Its very much like the trial and demo versions. Some things about the in battle GUI have been changed. Such as the spellcard cast/declare timer. I tried out Miko and Byakuren for new characters. Miko is really good at ranged attacks but not spectacular at melee. Byakuren's strength is melee but can do some range. I played story mode with Marisa. Its 7 stages. The 7th stage was pretty fun. It was the first legit battle too. Everyone else was a walkover. Despite being a fighting game traditional danmaku appear in game as well and they took a moment to figure out how to deal with. The new face in story mode will hopefully show the reason for all the religious battles recently in Gensokyo.
The new spellcards and levels look awesome too. When the translation comes out I will play story mode again. The full version has a bunch of new offensive and defensive tools to use for all characters. Tasofro did a nice job with HM. Hopefully ZUN could learn a thing or two about character drawing from the artists.
Don't ask about music. Didn't play with sound on.

While I agree that some characters received splendid make-over, Alphes' artsyle seems to be degrading if compared to his works in IaMP -> Hisoutensoku.

Why would they want to spend extra money and time for something that's not even exactly mandatory? Telling them to either borrow or hire some voice actress, especially professional, is like telling Fantasy Kaleidoscope to suffer the same fate as Summer Day's Dream. Not to count the possibility of how many people would complain about wrong voice actresses for wrong characters yadda yadda.
I'd say Manpuku Jinja's decision to not use voice actresses is wise and rational, considering the risks.
