Hmm .. I read your review, but i find something lacking.
Perhaps can you share us some tips on how to beat every bosses we encounter along the game ?
and we have Marisa + Cirno as our supporter in the first game, and you write "you only have Marisa as supporter".
I do believe no game is perfect. Maybe you can share us some of your opinion about whatever else do this game lacking ?

That is also a possibility. I still have a lot of research to do, but the main issue with using a girl would be trying to live up to the 'expectation' of that girl's traits (meaning, using an existing character as a base instead of making one up completely). But there is still a lot of groundwork to build, so we can check what suits the storytelling and the setting the best.

That's why I made this public to get feedback and didn't wait until I had already started. :)

So, I played a bit of both Touhouvania I and II.


And I must say I like II better.

It has the continue option.

Alice is more difficult than Cirno though.

Exactly. You're not the only one, a LOT of people don't like when the pairings go like that as far as self-inserts are concerned because it starts getting a little crazy and the sense of the storyline starts to get lost in between then insert's interactions with the characters, then it's no longer something about plot but instead something about simply... whatever the author wants to do, and not what he/she wants to give the readers.

We have enough garbage on the Internet as it is, and if my story ends up adding to that pile then so be it, but I'll be damned if I'm taking that route from the get-go when I'm being so careful planning ahead as much as I can. But then again, I might just 'wing it' here and there and see how it goes.

Hint and tips to beat the bosses in Touhouvania II

Alice
Spoiler:
Since your only subweapon is the clock and the knifes, the only way is to defeat her with melee. Her HP aren't that high when you do melee, but it will go well. To do it easier just dodge the bullets, no need to attack her at the same time, but if you see an opening, then take the chance.

If Alice gonna summon dolls, try to take out most as possible with the knife or do the several slashes in the mid-air in a close range.


Chen
Spoiler:
Chen is the easiest boss in the game well in my point of view. She likes to float a lot I have to say, so all the best thing to is to attack her from behind with melee. Since her bullets goes straight forward. Good way to defeat her is to use meiling. When Chen is about to do her spell card use Meiling do deal double damage.


Youmu
Spoiler:
I have no hint or tip to defeat her, but I know her half ghost which goes around her deals double damage if you hit it and Youmu herself. So I recommend to use Meiling to do that, since if you play hard mode "Myon"(the half ghost) will shoot bullets at you.

to dodge her spellcards is just to step aside. When she have done the slash the bullets under you will miss, but then the bullet above will hit you, so all you need is to step aside.


Marisa
Spoiler:
She's the one of the annoying one in the game, but only in hard mode. Her Normal mode is easy, very very easy. Before she does her Master spark. In Normal mode, she's open. You can do alot of damage. In Hard mode she'll use stars to make you stay away, so all you need is to use Marisa. You can spam her alot.

The other move she does, the lines that appears all of a sudden is easy avoid in hard mode, all you need to do is goes to the door to the right and crouch and wait till it's finish.


Ran
Spoiler:
Ran is funny to play with because her attacks isn't that strong, except her spell card and when she summon chen. Use Reimu to deal faster damage to save your own health. In hard mode, when she does her spellcard be sure be inside the circle and float, it's easier to dodge the bullets and while your float use Reimu or Patchouli to deal faster damage.


Yuyuko
Spoiler:
Call me crazy but Yuyuko is the easiest boss in hard mode. In normal mode she will not summon a red butterfly to chase after you, becareful it's a instant kill if you just standing. You'll be able to melee her when she doing her laser, be sure not be hitten by her sakuras.

The best support to defeat her is Alice, why? Because be sure to collect so much spirit as possible. When Yuyuko does her spellcard she will be on the ground, and if your standing on the top on the above platform you can spam Alice 5-6 times. If you have dealed enough damage with melee, she would be dead. Easy


Remilia/Yukari/Remilia, Final form
Spoiler:
I will be a nice guy and not spoil anything how to defeat her, but just use Reimu and Patchouli or maybe Flandre if you are good at dodging.

Yukari is easy if your quick with melee. Do an mid-air slash since you can do it more then once in a singel jump. Her health is low, so it's easy to fight her, no need to use any support.

Final form: All I want to say, get rid of the arms and those that is close to Remilia. And Good luck.

You can continue from Stage One , Two etc.
(Unless I missed it in One, since I was playing late at night)

And doesn't need Applocale...
