Furude Rika is not Frederica Bernkastel. There's still no exact evidence of that.

And, Furude Rika is from Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni, and Frederica is from Umineko no Naku Koro Ni.

It is posible that Frederica is the alternate dimension version of Furude Rika but hey, even Ushiromiya Battler and Maebara Keiichi resemble each other. Miyo and Lambdadelta also same as this.

The most notable theory is : Furude Rika is a doll that is created by Frederica herself, same like Miyo and Lambdadelta.

And thus, I think both people are different people.

As much as I humbly respect your ruling, Mr. Waar, I still oppose to this because I totally believe Bernkastel and Frederica Bernkastel are different entities.

It is true that Frederica Bernkastel shares many ties with Furude Rika, based from your second quotation, but it doesn't mean that Frederica Bernkastel and Furude Rika from Higurashi no Naku Koro ni are the same as "Bernkastel" from Umineko no Naku Koro ni. Furthermore, there might be some personality resemblance between the characters of the two series, but in fact, they are not really the same in terms of each respective games' story, character roles, and setting. The name Furude Rika or Frederica Bernkastel were not mentioned even once on the Umineko series, neither the name Bernkastel on the Higurshi series. Bernkastel has a tail because she is a cat, while the other two don't.

Despite all these, it is hardly implied without substantial evidence that Frederica Bernkastel and Bernkastel are the same entity; therefore, it is safe to say that they are really different, as far as the game is concerned. Furthermore, all of the assumptions and possibilities that were mentioned in the wikis are just mere opinion or point of view of a person. (It seems Ryukishi07 likes to troll the players due to the nature of his works.)

In any case, I just stated my opinion regarding this matter. Your ruling still prevails whatever is your stance to this dilemma.

Ive watched most of higurashi(first two seasons if I remember correctly) but only the first 10 of so episodes of Umineko(which is God awful btw).



That is your right but what I said stands.

It's not clear whether they are or not but the creators have made the links and as there is no clear answer I picked the side that made most sense to me. Until the day a definitive answer comes from the creators this is how things will be for the purpose of this game.
