My Otaku Room

OT: I wish I had the space in my room to start putting otaku stuff in it but because I have so much clutter from before I was an otaku I don't. I can barely fit my manga at the moment.[/h]

Really nice room. I notice some things we happen to have in common. Aha. I also have that Kantoku STEP book you have. By any chance do you also have his Ashiato or Polyphonica Aphonic Songbird artbooks? I have Ashiato, planning to get the 3rd one I mentioned. And may I ask where did you get your artbooks? I got mine from HLJ. Nice doujins btw.

And I also notice you have a handful of Megami/Nyantype wall posters. I really wanted the Sakurasou ones. I only have one. Me and my friend exchange pin ups. Him with Nyantype and Megami, and I, with Dengeki Hime's* and Dengeki Moe Oh... Well not really Moe Oh, I keep those to myself. Aha. He prefers to have his room non-H oriented.

*standalone pinups discontinued since Jan. '12, however the cover pages for each eroge review article can be cut out and used as posters :P

Thanks. The STEP artbook is great ^-^ Unfortunately, that's the only one I have by Kantoku, but I really want to get some more. I get my artbooks from London MCM Expo. I'll be going again next month so if I see some there I may pick them up. I'll definitely be buying more doujinshi there.

I'm behind with Megami, the latest one I have I think is December 2012, I want the ones from this year. Same with Dengeki Hime, but I don't have enough money to buy them at the minute. Saving up for Expo, they usually sell those magazines there.

I'd post my room, but am too fearful of someone on here recognizing my stuff. That, and I live with roommates (as I previously mentioned) so most of my hentai is stashed/hidden away.

That's a shame, I always like seeing other people's anime rooms and collections. Would still be cool to see your stashed away stuff.

Well I have a lot of it in storage (mostly doujinshi and hentai games/DVDs), the rest is made up of a shitfuckton of dakimakura covers. Not as many as some others on the site, but enough to where I feel I'd look like a total fucking weirdo to my family and friends, etc.
Perhaps I'll post my glass tower of animu and gaming figs later tonight. ;)

I don't have much of an Otaku room, my family and friends don't really know about the whole hentai thing so i have to be careful with what all i put on display in my room. The only anime thing i have at the moment, besides my desktops, is this.


But i plan on getting some more scrolls, and maybe some figures to decorate the shelves in my room. Most of my room is decorated with posters and stuff from my other hobbies, eventually I'de like to have one wall of my room dedicated to each of my hobbies, one for Anime, one for Video games, one for music/metal, and one for Magic the gathering/other stuff.

Alright, i got some time and will to do new pics of my room after rearrangement.
I mainly moved glass shelf whit figures on other wall and got new figures.

Im still looking for 1 cute maid and maby good quality Yoko figures on there, just haven't found em yet.
And maby in future id like to put poster or wall scroll above pc, something whit sengoku theme or ancient japan theme, probably something that wouldn't be directly pointing at anime. Maby something like ancient japan style painting or something like that.

Where do you guys get your posters? Living without roommates leaves me more free to decorate - are they mostly from Megami and other magazines?

I can't speak for everyone else, but the few posts I have hanging are all from circle purchases - previously sold at events like Comiket. This usually requires buying them from Mandarake/YJA(Yahoo Japan Auctions, essentially the eBay of Japan.) If you want an easy way to look through posters (or tapestries, for that matter), just paste the relevant search terms into Mandarake and see what pops up.

The more specific you can be, the better. So if there's a particular doujinshi artist you like, try pasting their name in with one of the relevant search terms, and see if anything pops up. Or Google the Japanese name of your favorite series, and paste it in with the search term.

Like anything, it can take some practice. The main thing is wanting to know what you look for. You could just search the terms I linked above, but without narrowing it down any further, you'll be scrolling through a lot of results that aren't really what you're looking for.

Mandarake is primarily a Japanese site (they have 8-8 stores throughout Japan), but they're kind enough to ship internationally. Even so, not every store has English speaking employees to post item descriptions in English. That's pretty much the reason I suggest using Japanese search terms. You can find some results by searching in English, but you'll definitely find more relevant results with Japanese terms.

If you need any help, feel free to shoot me a PM. Mandarake is a fantastic site, and I order stuff from them all the time.

All the otaku rooms looks very nice and I must say I'm very impresses w/ the amount of dedication on decorating the rooms. I have really small room so it does not have much space although I need to buy a displace cabinet/shelf in the future.

The figures I've seen must have cost some pretty heavy dough. I can only afford to buy Gunplas (the HG ones) since they are way cheaper and I can still save money to put on my savings. I sometimes envy people buying figures but I guess it's a short lived feeling. Let's say I did purchased a figure that I like: I'll put it on my room and that's it-eye candy. I'm not trying to bad mouth people who buys and collects figures, all I'm saying is that not all people will be good for this sort of hobby, specially on their financial status in life.

Thought I might as well add this as well. My Haruhi oppai mousepad somehow burst after some years of use, so I decided to start using my Kotonoha one from my limited edition copy of the School Days VN. I've been using it for a week or so now. I wanted to maintain it but I haven't got another mousepad and haven't bothered to buy another.

Aye most certainly, i started this hobby only when my money situation got fixed a little and i didn't have anything else to spend on. I remember wanting to start this for over 10 years and only now i can afford it.



Never could bring myself to buy one tho i wanted to few times.
They just get me so horny that i wont get any work done ;D

These threads always remind me of how I wish I didn't care about people seeing stuff! Maybe that'll change with time.
