I don't blame her for that. Nobody cares about Ottawa.

I lied. He had 35 points in 34 games. with 10 goals. In international games, he has 67 points in 64 games with 40 goals.
Lol.
Lol.

Yea well, right now Heatley's with a team that seems to be cursed whenever they enter the playoffs......I personally don't think he's gonna be THE difference maker.
And LOL: Leafs 3- HABS 0
Lmao.

You never know. As long as you can reach the playoffs, anything can happen. Gotta be optimistic.
Edit: Sharks beat Ottawa! We got revenge for Heatley!

Look forward to February 8th when the Sharks visit the Leafs and March 4th when the Canadiens come to visit the tank.

Better keep that 4th spot warm for us because we're coming for it.
That pretty much proves the HABS won't make the playoffs. Even if they do, like barely get the 8th spot, what's the point? They'll get owned by the first place team, which by the looks will probably the CAPS or PENS...I mean imagine that, Canadiens vs CAPS, first round...

Is losing to the Leafs really that bad? Man, I didn't know the rest of the league hated us so much.
:(
Anyways. we're running out of goalkeepers. We just can't catch a break when it comes to that position.

Lol, of course there's no hate, but when you lost to a team that's "supposed to" be inferior to you, then something's up. And they didn't just lose, they got completely shut down.
Fun fact, the Leafs have scored more goals then the HABS.....
*Ahem*, anyways, all my hopes now lie on the Calgary Flames to be the Canadien team winning the cup this year. I believe the Canucks will be able to climb back into the top 8, and I also believe the Sens will make the playoffs this year, perhaps finishing between 6~8th spot, but I don't believe either are a cup winning team. I believe the Flames are, and they are due to win the cup.

Alright there is a lot of Hab bashing going on here so stop it. Of course the Leafs score more gaols than the Habs. Most Hab wins come from shootouts. We are a forward team with decent goaltending with no real defence to speak of. So the forwards have to play defensively thus they don't get as many scoring opportunities. They are still a good team they just have some problems.
Anyway's the Sharks will just blow their playoff chance again. They are by no means a playoff team. The habs will still probably make 8th or maybe 7th.

We don't really hate the Habs (I do but I don't really know about the other users). I'm pretty sure we'll see the same scenario on Feb 8th when the Leafs completely demolish the Sharks.

Well they got owned yesterday 6-2 by the Sabres. But ok, let's say they do make the playoffs. They struggle, they fight to win games, and they end up getting the 8th seed........what then? They enter the playoffs facing the top dogs of the east.
Like I said, try to imagine them trying to beat the Caps or Pens....Let's also take a look at the team, as it stands right now. First off, goaltending. You've got 2 young goaltenders who are...unreliable, I believe. Some nights they're good, some nights not so much. I can't help but feel like Jacques Marting flips a coin before the start of every match, puts Halak/Price in net, and hopes for the best.
Then, the offense. Alright, got the first line which is pretty kick ass, Gomez, Gionta and Cammalleri. But what about after..? Andrei Kostitsyn and Plekanec aren't what they used to be since Kovalev left, the energy line of last year (Latendresse+Lapierre+Kostopoulos) is no more, Kostopoulos is now with the struggling Canes. That's also another thing to think about, last year that was their best line...something's not right when your first line is inferior to your 4th...
And last but not least, the D-man. Within the first match this year, markov went down with a 4 month injury...and that to me was a sign. Spacek is pretty good, so is hamerlik...but really, for the last several years when you say D-man in Montreal, first player that comes to mind is Markov, much like (I'm pretty sure of this) the first D-man that comes to mind for Toronto fans is Kaberle.

All true. Once again no defensive line. He needs to play Price more often so he can develop. Price is going to be an excellent goalie one day probably an all star but he's not getting the chance to grow. If he plays more his standard could be how he did in the world juniors. (Which was freaking amazing)
I think we picked him up too early should've kept him i the juniors for a few years.
We also need a better a coach. One who knows how to trade and how to handle goalies. We should probably get Patrick Roy as our coach he'd do great.

Why are the Ducks struggling so bad at the moment? I mean I knew they weren't gonna be first seed but right now they are dead last in the west right now
And I'm glad the HABS are at least back in the 8th seed spot (for the time being). Canucks are sinking...currently 11th. =(
I thought things were going better for them but it seemed to be short lived....
But you guys know what though? Biggest surprise at the moment HAS to be Detroit. They are 9th...I also didn't expect them to be top seed this year due to all the players they lost in the offseason. (free agency will kill teams..) but 9th place? Who else expected to see that?

Think the most shocking thing is that most teams in the west are getting points from OT and shootouts (except the Canucks, they don't like OT for some reason), 14 outta 15 teams in the west have wins > 60 min losses compared to the east with 11 out of 15.
Even 8-11th have split 50:50 records.
The west is much closer than the east from 1st to 9th with
10 in the west points vs 14 in the east.
Think some deserving teams in the west aren't gonna make the playoffs cause it's so tight.

Gonna bring this thread up to speed, for any/all people interested.
On the East side:
-Due to a couple of consecutive losses, HABS lose the 8th spot and are currently 10th. On the plus side, Markov is back. (YES!!)
-Leafs are doing better, with a couple of consecutive wins they are now 4 points away from the 8th spot. They might make it before the all-star game if things keep going well.
-Surprisingly, the Devils now sit in the first spot in the east. Caps have been dethroned D:
-Bruins playing (somewhat) better. Fans have to be stunned though at their performance, considering how they dominated last year. Struggling Thomas and lack of offense (strangely) is putting them in hot water, but despite that they sit in the 7th spot.
-Pens now sit in fourth, due to strange series of loss. Question marks must loom about in fans minds.
-Everything is going wrong for the Flyers right now. If anything, I expect a coaching change VERY soon...again...<_<
-After a couple of years seeing their team going downhill, Ottawa fans have a reason to smile again. Their team sits currently 5th, more stability in both offense and goaltending is clearly making a difference this year.
Now on to the West side:
-Ducks are starting to climb back up the standings, currently they are in the 12th spot, 6 points behind the 8th spot.
-Wings are now in the 8th spot, but fans have to be holding their breaths and praying that their team stays there. This is probably the most stunning thing I've seen this year...struggling Wings..
-Oilers and Blues suck...what's new?
-Nothing is safe at the moment between the 10~8th spot. There's only 1 point separating the Wings from the Canucks and Stars.
-Flames have had a couple of bad games, thus resulting in them being 6th. That has me worried D:
-Chicago blackhawks now sit in the first seed. Which is....surprising. I believe they will make the playoffs and be a team to be reckoned with...I can't believe I'm saying that...lol, considering how, in the past several years the blackhawks have just been..god awful. A couple of good drafts can litteraly turn things 180 degrees. Then again, same can be said for the Pens..
Basically...things are wacked in the west. You've got 5 teams, yes 5, sitting at 47 points for the first place. You've got 3 teams that can take turns sitting at the 8th spot. As for me, I'm just glad Markov's back! ^_^

Wow at the Canadian Team...
http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=511636
4 Sharkies are there, including the first line of Thornton, Heatley, and Marleau.
Dan Boyle is there at defense as well.
That's a really good team though... x.x Beastly...

Well at least I can be happy about that Shia, the Olympic hockey team of Canada is good.
Hmm, shame though about the Leafs...they came so close to being in the 8th spot again :(
Uh...what else? I watch the Habs game, them vs the Sens this past Monday, they lose 4-2 and it was a pathetic loss considering the Sens were without Alfredson and Spezza.
so then I decide not to watch the next 2 games....and they win both of them. 2-1 in OT versus Tampa Bay, and then 5-4 versus Florida. -_-
