The Sharkies lost to the Blackhawks in OT. That was sad... But this game showed us how to beat them if we did meat in the playoffs. Down 3-0 then all of a sudden, boom 3-3! Showed some resilience. Lol.

The NHL is going to suspend play for the Olympics on Valentines Day. I thought that was a little interesting. >w<
If only Baseball Suspended play for the olympics or they cared about the WBC. Can you imagine the US team?
Lincecum, Halladay, Lee, Sabathia as the starters?
Then you have something like Mauer, Berkman, Utley, Jeter, Wright, Crawford, Kemp, and Sizemore.
There are a lot of good players that aren't in there. Howard, Hamilton, and others. >w<
I'm talking baseball in a hockey thread. ;-;

So as some of you may have heard/read/seen one of the recent transactions, Ilya Kovalchuk is now with the NJ devils.
Who got the better deal here? The thrashers just traded their best player, but I look at what they got in return and wonder if it was worth it? The best thing I saw in the trade was a first round draft in 2010....
In the Devil's case, they got a temporary player. However Kovalchuk coming to NJ isn't like Kessel going to Toronto, by that I mean;
Kovalchuk is playing on a team that is already established and was effective without him. He went from a struggling team, to a team that's currently 2nd in the East. He's got nothing to lose, and a stanly cup to gain. He's got the motivation, a good team, and in the devil's case they got themselves an offensive powerhouse.

Sharks are still gonna win the cup. Lol. XD
But a very nice trade by the Devils. They got a rent a player to try and win the cup. Sort of like the Cardinals with Matt Holliday, except they didn't win...
If New Jersey can resign Kovulchuk, it would be a super awesome deal for them.

Can't double post. =/ Sharks beat the Maple Leafs today 3-2. Lol. 9 straight on the road!

There's been quite a few trades happening around the NHL. Sadly none of them concerned my team (HABS) [size=4]pr at least, not an important trade[/h]
Anybody here saw something interesting? Did your team do any good/bad moves?

Sharks didn't do much, but I like this team. Could use another defenseman to play in place of Vlasic until he comes back, but I think we'll hold until then.

Oh hai guys. So the playoffs are starting soon! :D Weather or not my team makes the cut, I don't care. If we look at the current standings, some matches have already been determined. Anything catch anyone's eye?
For example if the Sens win at least one more game, they are on the 5th spot, guaranteed. In the west, the Flames still have a shot of making the 8th spot, but they need to win every last game of the season to make it.
In the west, the matchup that I would like to see is Detroit vs Chicago, but for that to happen the Wings would have to fall to 7th place...*crosses fingers* heh.

Looking at the Sharks, we'll be either the 1 seed or the 4 seed. If we were the 1, we would play either Colorado or Calgary. Would prefer Colorado in that case. The series is tied 2-2 for the season, but the teams won their games at home. The Sharks have an excellent record at home, so we just need to break a game on their ice. If we were the 4 seed, we would probably take on Nashville, although Detroit and LA are still a possibility. Either way, I think we could beat them all, although I want to avoid Detroit at all costs. We don't play well against them for some reason. Lol.
Silliness. Go Sharks.
Silliness. Go Sharks.

Somehow, by the way the Canucks are playing, I think they're gonna have a tough time in the first round. Luongo is not playing great, and lots of injuries in the blue line add to the mix.

I'll also be looking forward to seeing what the Coyotes can do. Unless I'm mistaken, this is their first appearance in the playoffs.

Kind of Important
A ray of Tsunlight.
I just hope Fleury can keep it together, he's an amazing clutch player, but gives up some bullshit goals often. But with Crosby, Gonchar and the like, I think we can get a repeat, or at least a damn good attempt.

The west is set, playing for seeding now.
The east is just about set with the Rangers having an outside shot of making the playoffs.
In the west, the only side I care for, Chicago and San Jose are duking it out for the top seed seeing as Detroit will be the 7th. Playing for the right not to face the Red Wings. Lol. Let's go San Jose. We never seem to play well against the Red Wings. Don't want another early exit ;-;

The Red Wings have that magical ability to make the other team just play like crap. I don't know what it is, but we fell victim to it the season before last. In the Championship series no less.
